I hung up a couple of bird feeders. Once I did that the birds started showing up.

I'm great at multi-tasking. I can waste time, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at the same time.
But the weather is going to be terrible in Upstate NY. My grandmother fell and broke her femur yesterday, so she's in the hospital and my housebound status is over for a while. But I doubt I'll go out. Here's a few from past years.

GREAT pix BC! I love the Catbird and Red-bellied Woodpecker shots. The yellow eastern Palm Warbler is neat too. Very cool stuff man! Bunch of great shots!

Icicles are nice, every few years, briefly. They are really nice if you put all different colors of food coloring in the snow at the edge of the roof, and then let them form.

Grew up in the tropics — never had the opportunity to “grok” any of the phenomena associated with winter until I went away to college. Of course, the sense of charm and wonder at actually experiencing snow and icicles for the first time very quickly wears off.
What with global warming, it’s been years and years since Germany had a “real” winter of the kind depicted in the romantic landscapes and cityscapes found on old postcards and Christmas cards.

Don't recognize several of the birds, though, they are all beautiful. We have several active backyard bird feeding areas which regularly attract mostly Cardinals, Blue jays, a lone Woodpecker, and Mourning Doves.
(Not to mention more than a few swarms of pesky Cowbirds and Grackles! And, squirrels.)
Thanks for hosting, BR.

The Australian Shepherd, often known simply as the "Aussie", is a medium-sized breed of dog that was, despite its name, developed on ranches in the United States during the 19th century.[3][4][5]
There is disagreement regarding the exact history of the breed prior to its arrival in the United States, and thus no official consensus on the origin of its name or association with Australia.[6]
They are similar in appearance to the popular English Shepherd and Border Collie breeds, and research has found that Australian Shepherds and Border Collies are closely related to each other; both the Border Collie and Australian Shepherd are slightly more distantly related to other kinds of Collies from the Basque regions of Europe.[7] However, the Border Collie was not used to create the Australian Shepherd. The Australian Shepherd most likely is the descendant of Carea Leonés, Pyrenean Shepherd and Old German Herding dogs that were brought over by shepherds.
Hope you're having a wonderful Mother's Day, and got to visit with your daughter.
Be well.

I met an Australian Sheep Dog puppy today
It made my day!
Heh, and 'you' just made my day, Janis! ;-) Is that
this dog?

Icicles like that
Are mostly a sign of a poorly insulated building. I cannot enjoy them because they are evidence of the wasted energy causing climate change. (sigh)
