Fox News has changed American's views on what they think any more. How many people have lost family to right wing talking points? I remember duck and cover in school. But, I have always wondered what the fuss about the Soviet Union was all about. In principal, to me, it was a noble "idea", a country, of the people, by the people, for the people. They put a man in space before the US for heaven sake.
In our own founding documents, we find the exact same "idea", of the people, by the people and for the people, as well as, "in order to form a more perfect union".
But nothing in our lives embodies any of these idea's, because, we are all in competition with one another, well, to have a better life for ourselves, at the expense of everyone one else, which, has always seemed repugnant to me.

Fairly historically accurate by modern standards and Ryan's book was great. I saw the movie in the theater when it first came out and between VHS and DVDs over a dozen times since.
A few years after the movie came out, the old Avalon-Hill company made a board game "Storm Over Arnhem" with novel mechanics -- which I played a lot back in the day.
if for no other reason than it is actually a 2 1/2 hour exposition on the futility and stupidity of war. I think of it as the Anti-Patton.
There are also a few subtle homages to 'All Quiet on the Western Front', including the oncoming rolling bombardment shot in the first battle sequence.

Is there a method to use the sound of a video
and put it into a program that could translate the German soundfile into English? Drives me nuts that I don't know how to do that. Or first I transfer the soundfile into a textfile and then translate the textfile and somehow put the translated textfile into the bottom of the original video.
