@Le Frog
however, the delegate count may go to Bootleg; bootleg's strength appears to be in doing better across all ages. Having said that, some very populated precincts are yet to report which may be advantage Bernie and he takes it all. Certainly bootleg did well in the alignment, way better than Warren. Biden loses.
There's a big guess from my reading and listening to pundits.
Is there any hope here that Bernie wins Iowa? Am I grasping at straws?
Based on the 60% of the count chosen (by whom?) to be released, Butt is ahead in "delegate equivalents" which is based on what? There are a lot more delegate equivalents assigned in the report than the actual 41 pledged delegates.
Notice, too, that although Biden recieved less than 15% of the initial and final alignments, he still got more than 15% of the "delegate equivalents."

I know my brand of caustic vulgarity is mean-spirited, and certainly not for everyone, but it is reserved for very few people, and Clinton just happens to inspire about 50% of it. If she opens her trap one more time, I'm going to write a huge essay on allllllllll the things I despise about her.

#MayorCheat actually won they would not need so much time to massage the numbers. Even if they can't fudge a complete loss for Bernie they will shave delegates from his totals.

fuck Pete Buttigieg and his smug entitlement. Can't wait for the shellacking he gets in South Carolina.

@Le Frog
Hope, sure. Unless you think this is blatant election fraud, then of course not.
There's enough of the vote left to have Sanders and Buttigieg swap places, or not. There might be enough to drive Biden down to fifth place (which would warm my heart), or not.
We could also be seeing a news cycle scheme wherein Buttigieg claims victory with zero percent reporting, the state Party releasing data showing him winning with 62% reporting, then the actual number with Sanders having won buried in the State of the Union coverage. No outright fraud, but almost as good with most voters walk away thinking the wrong guy won. Most likely Sanders and Buttigieg getting almost the same number of national delegates. As I mentioned this morning, without a bigger turnout Sanders will have trouble getting a clear victory. That much doesn't seem to be fraud.

It could have been Warren who got the most "state designated delegates." She would have gotten all the ballyhoo instead of Petey. What other states is Butt going to win? Not New Hampshire. Not South Carolina. He doesn't look good for Nevada. How's he gonna fare on Super Tuesday? So much for that bump. And Butt helped bring Biden down. And really, he took votes away from Warren too.

So much unaccountable funding was poured into the Iowa voting process that in the light of the now well-publicized untrustworthy result some new scheme will need to be cooked up fast to mess up the New Hampshire results. And if something similar happens there it will become very obvious to people who the most respected and preferred candidate is.
This clearly prearranged and paid-for Iowa situation (assuming Mayo Pete comes out ahead) will now introduce extensive coattails of its own. And many sets of clear fingerprints.

@Wally
That was in a comment on today's (Feb 05) front page.
It makes lots of sense to me. In exchanging for his participation in the "Stop Sanders" movement, he "gets" lots of votes in Iowa, a state much like Indiana, money to roll over to his Gov campaign, and maybe a promise of support (cheating) from the DNC.
I'm not even sure how many Indianans knew of him before this. Now he is a national figure.

because we're paying attention and will go looking for the information.
I think Bernie will end up taking more delegates in Iowa.
The corporate media will bury the story. They really, really do not want to say it. I recall during the 2016 primary, when Bernie won Michigan, MSM couldn't bring themselves to call the election for him until 90%+ precincts had reported.
Scene: January 20, 2021, on the steps of the US Capitol. Jane Sanders is standing next to Bernie as he takes the oath of office and becomes the 46th POTUS.
The live reports from the various corporate news media:
"Nice weather we're having today, isn't it?"
"We'll return to our regularly scheduled programming shortly. This is just a temporary delay."
"Let's turn to our experts in the studio to see what we can expect in the 2028 presidential race."
"Here's our correspondent in Baltimore with a sweet story about a shelter dog that got adopted after 5 years!"
"Where's the pizza delivery guy? I called and placed our order 2 hour ago. I wonder why it's taking so long to get here."
"Hey, who do you like for the Superbowl next week?"
Edit: typo
especially the 'old man at the card table' part.
Does anyone know if we will be allowed knowledge of the other 38% of the vote, or are we meant to assume that 62% = 100% = Victory for McKinsey Man?
What a 4th World system!!?!!

Seems to me the Register had Buttigieg dropping ten points in a poll around January 10. I would like to see the progression of his numbers going into the caucus. And I would really like to see the poll that Buttigieg blocked on Sunday.
Pete didn't seem to have nearly the numbers a few weeks ago that he has now. This win seems to have come out of nowhere.

Well, 62% reporting, Bernie may win the popular vote,
however, the delegate count may go to Bootleg; bootleg's strength appears to be in doing better across all ages. Having said that, some very populated precincts are yet to report which may be advantage Bernie and he takes it all. Certainly bootleg did well in the alignment, way better than Warren. Biden loses.

What are "Delegate Equivalents"???

Are "delegate equivalents" like provisional ballots?
Or is it just a fancy way of saying "Butt will win because we say so."

delegate equivalents from your link: the Register
is predicting the number of delegate allotted by results of second vote (re-alignment)
The percent reported is from data the Iowa Dem. party for the whole state supplied thus far.
Still a good possibility that Bernie wins both popular votes and delegates if 'karnacki' is reading this right...
It's "state delegate equivalents"
It seems, from what I've read at Way of the Bern, that Bernie and Butt are actually tied at 10 pledged delegates apiece.
This article explains the state delgate equivalents:

Is that like
I hope the few precincts left can pull it off for Bernie
