Good morning...
We had soft showers yesterday...got a quarter of an inch. Skies are clearing this morning.
Looks like it will be nice here today, but cool - highs in the low 50's.
I plan to wire in an outdoor receptacle on the new well house today. Not too big a deal. I need to shop for a new chainsaw too. My small 25 year old saw is wonky at best, and this is the best time of year to work in the woods. Thought I might find an end of the year bargain. My problem is I don't like to shop, but I'll hold my nose and face up to it.
Hope you all have a good day!

Buenas manana
Also need to change chain saw. Have a Stihl MS 390. A real brute of a machine. Getting too old to pick the monster up. Hope to trade it in on a smaller model like the MS 170. Half the weight. Good enough for most of my work.
Good luck!
Good morning QMS. Trading down the old chainsaw is
some sort of ritual or rite of passage for those of a certain age, mine was a Husquevarna 480 and I finally realized that I got seriously tired using it and that it became dangerous to do so when I was tired. I eventually worked my way on down to a small electric which I rarely use because I seem to work better with a reciprocating saw with a long hyper-aggressive pruning blade in it. Still not calling in a tree service, though.
Have a good one.

Good morning Lookout. Outdoor receptacles are always
good to have around, they can really make life easier at times. Good luck on the chain saw search. Can't say I really miss using one, though some of my tasks might go easier if I had one.
Have a good one.

Good morning, el ~~
Today is my son’s birthday. He also reminds me it is Tiger Woods’ birthday, too. Of course, neither are musicians!
End of year and decade almost here. Time has lost all meaning.
Have a lovely day, everyone!

Good morning RA. Happy birthday to your son, and I guess
Tiger too. Time is weird right now, I can't recall if it ha been every year of late or just this one, seems to run slow until evening whereupon, in retrospect, it seems that some was missing.
Have a good one.

Hola todos, been sleeping in a lot lately, dunno what that is
all about, but there it is. Back into the 40s this morning and no rain, maybe I'll get something done outside.

morning el
et al
Rained like crazy last night and now days of clear weather. I saved a baby skunk the other day. It was sitting in the middle of the road near my house. Animal rescue came and took it to their care facility. The raccoons eat the skunks and the possums regularly. Every thing eats something. It just gets messy when some species take way more than they need. Then consumption becomes The Problem.

Good morning magi. Rained here yesterday off and on.
Looks like a few days of clear up here too.
Thanks for saving the skunk. Most folks are afraid to rescue them because they can spray, though they are actually more dangerous because they can carry rabies, so wear thick gloves next time (If you didn't this time). I still carry some really serious gauntlets in the truck (we worked in rehab for a while).
Have a good one.

Welding gloves
Heh. But I managed to catch it in a big bird cage and they did the rest. They have huge claws. I guess you have to keep the tail dow and they cannot spray.

yes, keeping the tail down is the key. We were taught to push
it down and tuck it forward under the belly. Welding gloves work for just about everything.

Wow watch this dawg play Jenga
I bet I would lose to her if I played against her.

Good morning snoopy. That dog is clarly skilled at Jenga,
but I can't help but wonder if she is "Playing" it, as in deriving enjoyment from the exercise, or merely performing an assigned task.
Have a good one.

Good morning, el,
Resting the bones this morning and taking care of banks being open business. I am, however concerned about granddog jackson as morning message from son carried news that he's failing fast. Have always felt helpless when dealing with sick children or pets.
Ah, the old year slips away; good from my point of view as the health problems which consumed about nine months didn't exactly make it a stellar year; good news being i'm better now the new year beckons.
Diddley music brightens the mood and we do have beautiful Carolina Blues skies in winter light today.
Thanks as always for being here and have a great California day.
My thoughts and my heart are with you, smiley
It is so sad knowing that your time with Jackson is fading and I hope that the many memories that you have shared helps you through this time. You gave your all to Jackson and that is the best gift you could give him. Take care.

Cheers snoopy and charlie; did charlie
know that my grandfather was charlie, my dad was charlie and my son is charlie, too?
Hugs to you both and all the best in the new year.
My grandpa Joe called me Charlie
Remember that tuna fish named Charlie? And "Hiya Charlie." That was one reason Charlie got her name. The other one should be obvious.

thanks for the tunes EL!
Bo Diddley was one of THE big BIG main pioneers IMHO. I love his rhythm, it should be called 'the Bo': shave and a haircut, two bits, shave and a haircut, two bits. Magic Bus.
There is no Tull like Clive Bunker and Glenn Cornick Tull.
I don't know how I missed Rasputin! I guess I was into some heavy shit in the 70's.
Runaway was awesome, what a song, I loved it at about 6 or 7 years old on L.A. a.m.
Valerie! Rad Monkees rock at the time... Loved those lead fills.
Have a good one!

With friends in Amsterdam, getting ready to mark the crossing of the old/new year boundary line. Germans call New Year’s Eve “Silvester”, after a Roman Catholic pope and saint. Dutch just say “Old and New / Oud en Nieuw”.
Good afternoon lot. Sylvester seems to lack a certain
calendrical cachet, but, then again, so does bowl day eve, so what the hey. Old and new, depending upon how much one thinks about it could be seriously metaphysical and is definitely the winner.

Good morning dysto. Bo was really something, and his
ouvre isn't fully known, such as his authorship of Before You Accuse me and some other stuff. Boney M was a weird niche group that I wasn't at all hip to at the time, almost a novelty group in the Ray Stevens tradition. Gotta run, have a good one.
