Welcome to Saturday ...
~ Elijah Cummings, RIP
For two months
I have not written
a word.
My voice, a low
grumble, disturbs
our quarter
like the rumble
of the millstone
which having nothing to grin
grinds itself.

Well let’s assume it’s yes, but this is not a conversation
for the telephone, you know, our ears
have vigilant listeners, so let’s just prepare it in
a language foreign to them and us, and don’t say “yes”
before you translate it;
well let’s admit it’s yes, but this is not
convenient for the moment, you know, our
walls have sensitive ears, so let’s just preserve it
for later, keep it and don’t say
“yes” before you wait it out;
well let’s agree it’s yes, but this is not
a condition forever, you know,
our souls have thin walls, so let’s just presume
it for today, for awhile, and don’t
say “yes” before you delete it;
well it must be no, but this
is not a conclusion for real,
you know, our listeners have sensitive souls, so let’s
pretend for now that we protest, and
don’t say “no” before you apologize.

good morning
Looks like rain today as Nestor the storm moves north. Most of the rain seems to be going east of us, but we should get a little I hope. Trade day was almost empty as a result.
Just had a houseful of company leave yesterday...fellow musicians. Had several good sessions, but it's nice to have our quiet peaceful scene back.
Enjoyed the poems and art today smiley. Hope all is well in the highlands. Take care and be well!
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
Good morning, Lookout,
Rain on the way here also and forecast for all next week beginning Tuesday. Festivals of Fall galore in surrounding communities, homecoming at university, roads packed.
Appears it may be a gorgeous year for leaf lookers, setting up late, splendid around 5,000 feet right now.
Having a quiet day as well; enjoy.
good morning smiley
RIP Elija Cummings. What a great loss.
We must carry on with the work, all of us.

Good morning, magi
Been remiss in commenting on c99 lately, bend in a whirlwind of living as el says. Yes to carrying on; wish i was in Queens this evening to feel the excitement. Got a call from a friend staying off Union Square on Friday and though of you and West Coast friends and old memories flooded in.
Renovation of the town's old theatre is finally complete, may ramble a few yards and take a look this afternoon.
Enjoy the day.
Would love to be in Queens
We will be there in our hearts. What a legacy.
Things here have been busy. We are organizing a next-step get together for as many of the progressives as we can pull into the room. And still trying to talk to city / county electeds. And I just saw Dahr Jamail speak the other night up at the junior college and read from his book. A lot of students were there and usuns. Well, he told the bloody raw truth. Emphatically told the young ones pick your path and fight like hell. Pull no punches. He laid the science out with no candy coating. Loved it. I left with the clarity that we have so little time, best to tell the unvarnished truth. So mode it be. Thanks for the wonderful ot. Be well...

Is the Beatles' Apple logo borrowed from Magritte?
Or inspired by his apple paintings?
If not, where did it come from?
“This big green apple, which I still have now,
became the inspiration for the logo,” McCartney said of the Magritte canvas.
Yep, Wally, good fun, here's the article:
Don't forget Bernie's BIG Apple rally today 1 ET
I'm too clever sometimes.
It's starting just about now:

And it should archived on Bernie's YouTube channel later.
It's a great rally, enjoying it all.
Hola smiley! We got back from camping Friday afternoon
and have been so busy I haven't even checked it. Luckily, it has started rainings, lightls, so I can sit a bit an start work on Monday's OT. I have pages of notes from out short trip, many of which translate into to-do's, so I've got to review that puppy too. Ah well.
Thanks for the OT and the art, and have a great one.

Welcome home, el,
Just getting settled back in here as well. Temps going down and rain. Snow can come and often does come soon.
Have a good evening.
Greetings, Smiley & Saturday OT'ers! Today, and
tomorrow, helping an elderly relative pack her house (moving to assisted living community). So, out-of-loop for news, except what I'm reading at C99 today.
Glad you honored Rep Cummings. Here's a link to my comment to Magi, which includes a favorite poem of his (according to CNN) called "Just A Minute."
Just A Minute
I'll leave you Guys with a song we've been playing today, to pass the time as we engage in such a dreary chore (packing).

Much of the rain missed us, and clear skies are predicted for rest of week. Yeah!
Everyone have a lovely rest-of-the-weekend.

Hi Mollie,
Good to catch you. Had a lovely time with Jackson in Knoxville. Miss him now, though.
Hope your move is going as planned and smoothly and all is well.
Glad you did. Bet Jackson misses you, as well! ;-D EOM

I missed
commenting in your OT last night smiley because someone made a comment about something in Queens. Then I got distracted watching the rally...before I knew it it was past my bedtime. But thanks for the OT and for mentioning the Queens event. I enjoyed watching the video that Wally posted.
Hope you have a great week.
