I guess I should have explained,

@thanatokephaloides . The two sculptures I posted are of David standing at the ready, tense but prepared to fight Goliath. The marble one is by Michelangelo, and I figured it's famous enough that people would recognize it. The other one is by Donatello, showing David a bit more true to what he actually was: a mere boy. The reason they came to mind is the basic nature of what Tulsi had entered into: a David v. Goliath scenario, a totally lopsided battle, David being a boy with only a stone and a slingshot, Goliath a giant. IOW, a scary situation in which the smaller party is very courageous to be doing such a thing voluntarily.

I'm sorry if the nudity of the sculptures disturbed anyone. I remember John Ashcroft had a statue in the capitol draped to cover its breasts. Really, when you look at them the least interesting detail in those two statues is the genitals. Perhaps the most interesting thing they have in common is the way the artists managed to convey David's courage, determination, and focus. They both look calm yet entirely tense. When I posted them I was pretty shook up about what Tulsi might be letting herself in for. In fact, it was the first time I've cried since learning of Ed Schultz's death. To me, Tulsi is like a female David.

@thanatokephaloides . It’s quite beautiful and certainly captures Tulsi’s strong, quiet, noble, warrior qualities. But when I posted the two David sculptures (Michelangelo’s fully grown version and Donnatello’s boy David) I was thinking of the power imbalance inherent in Tulsi’s David v. Goliath stance in taking on someone so rich and (still) powerful -- and the admiration and fear it evokes. David was a mere mortal like Tulsi, preparing to fight a giant, and his stance conveys steely determination as he stands at the ready armed only with only his stone and slingshot. To me, it’s like Tulsi’s situation. But that's a nice one of Athena, sometimes known as the warrior goddess.

It's interesting, the more one sees of Tulsi, the more tempting it is to put her on a pedestal because she really is a cut above, you just feel it. Probably not a good idea, but wow, tempting.

Here's the thing:

In this context, "asset" isn't a general abstraction, it's a technical term of art. To call either Stein (directly) or Gabbard (indirectly by syntactic association) a "Russian asset" comes very close to an actual charge of treason, as defined in the Constitution. This is not normal political discourse, not even on the wacked out level of Trump accusing members of the media of treason, under circumstances that clearly do not meet the definition.

Accusing a sitting member of Congress of treason is not okay, absent any evidence thereof.

When Hillary was being considered for Secretary of State both Obama and congress told her to keep her foundation separate from her duties. Instead she blatantly ignored them and used her position to get money for it. Clinton Cash is a great book that describes how she took money from anyone or government that had business with her state department. Got a problem you need fixing? Just throw some money at the Clintons and she will fix it for you. And she did.

Among the most striking and troubling aspects of the Clinton System are the large contributions corporations and foreign governments have made to the Clinton Foundation, along with Bill Clinton’s readiness to accept six-figure speaking fees from some of them, at times when the donors themselves had a potential financial interest in decisions being made at Hillary Clinton’s State Department. An investigation published in April 2015 by Andrew Perez, David Sirota and Matthew Cunningham-Cook at International Business Times shows that during the three-year period from October 2009 through December 2012, when Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, there were at least thirteen occasions—collectively worth $2.5 million—when Bill Clinton received a six-figure speaking fee from corporations or trade groups that, according to Federal Government records, were at the time engaged in lobbying at the State Department.

These payments to Bill Clinton in 2010 included: $175,000 from VeriSign Corporation, which was engaged in lobbying at the State Department on cybersecurity and Internet taxation; $175,000 from Microsoft, which was lobbying the government on the issuance of immigrant work visas; $200,000 from SalesForce, a firm that lobbied the government on digital security issues, among other things. One reason Hillary used her private email server was so that people from their foundation could have access to it. Chelsea had to know where her mum was so she could send da there. Many times after Hillary got done making deals with foreign governments Bill would then show up to give a speech. No coincidences there though right?
The other thing that needs some attention is that countries like Sweden, Australia and many many more not only gave millions to her then, but are still doing it. Why? No one knows. I think Act Blue keeps score over time

@pro left and though my monthly donations to Tulsi have been fairly modest, I went all out for Bernie in 2016 (more than I could afford), gave some to Tim Canova, and have been supporting Our Revolution, too. So it's quite possible they have financial profiles of Democratic contributors and they quite likely provide data for the production of fund-raising emails. BTW, I don't trust Act Blue. Consider yourself lucky they don't try to soak and/or shame you; it's so unpleasant.

First addresses Hillary's deplorables statement she made during the election had to be one of the biggest bone headed moves that's right up there with Romney dissing 47 percent of Americans. This goes back to the picture Mark posted of the Clintons and Trumps. But this really nails it.

The media has gotten away with saying the same types of things about Trump and the GOP. Calling McConnell Moscow Mitch and Graham Leningrad Lindsay is not only childish, but just as horrible as what Hillary said about Tulsi. The inmates are dead certain that we are under attack by Russia, but never acknowledging the truth about Israel interfering in our government as long as I can remember. Remember when Vlad went before congress and told them to vote against the president's bill on Iran? Or when the Russian lobby got congress to pass legislation on people who support BDS? I have respected Tulsi Gabbard

since I first heard her speak. At the moment though, I am questioning her ‘serving the country’ rhetoric, unless she clearly distinguishes between her military and social service. I’d rather she stick to speaking out about what doesn’t serve the country from a civilian perspective, where she is uniquely qualified because of her military service.

Yes I agree with you on this

She knows that she was sent to war on false pretenses, but she doesn't talk about that when she talks about regime change wars. I'd like her to state unequivocally that we are in Syria without consent from the congress or UN.

One thing that I dislike is that she doesn't mention the people who have been killed by our illegal invasions. She only talks about her brothers and sisters who have been killed, bill never mentions the civilians who were. Then there's the fact that she willingly joined the military and knows from what she has seen in congress that no country has threatened ours which is the only reason countries get to go to war.
