John Bolton is fired

Finally! Trump does something that I can support.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he had fired national security advisor John Bolton, saying he had “disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions.”

“I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning,” Trump said in a tweet.

And in unrelated Russiagate news...
dems.PNG

Officials at the Democratic Party’s top think tank recently explored the idea of shutting down an operation devoted explicitly to exposing President Donald Trump’s ties to Russia and the Russian government’s interference in American politics.

Those talks never materialized into any concrete action. And in a statement to The Daily Beast, a spokesman for the Center for American Progress said that it would continue supporting its initiative, The Moscow Project, through the end of the 2020 election.

“CAP is and always has been committed to The Moscow Project since we founded it in 2017,” the spokesman said. “We are proud to have developed some of the most in-depth expertise on Trump’s corrupt relationship with Russia. The Moscow Project will continue through the election to hold Trump accountable, anybody saying otherwise is unequivocally wrong.”

That's a load off my mind.
For a minute there I was afraid that the Dems would talk about real issues.

@boriscleto for both of them, but I'm not gonna lie - I want the two of them to start trading insults and get low-classy in public.

John Bolton should never have been anywhere near a government portfolio. He is ideologically dangerous and reckless, even by Trump standards. So no matter how it happened, I'm relieved in a small way that he is gone. That said, every subsequent choice to replace the revolving door mess of White House officials is usually worse than before, so I'm not expecting a sane and sensible adult will be appointed.

It's right up there with the evil that the Intelligence Community unleashed against this country with their attempt to subvert a US Presidential election, then launching the Russia Hoax to cover their crimes.

It’s a scary day when John Bolton was the voice of reason in the White House.

Boltin probably contradicted Putin’s US foreign policy decisions.

The chaos is the point which is what his Russian masters want.

This is going to give Bibi and Adelson (?) a sad, but good riddance. In a sand world Bolton would have been in prison for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The question is where will he end up next? With Mattis working for some warmongering think tank with the rest of the PNAC ghouls?

According to CNN's sources, the spy had access to Putin and could even provide images of documents on the Russian leader's desk.
The covert source provided information for more than a decade, according to the sources, and an initial effort to extract the spy, after exposure concerns, was rebuffed by the informant.

his is why the IC is so sure that Putin was behind the election interference. They had pix! And yet, they couldn’t just come out and tell us all because of the extremely sensitive — and fruitful — operation that they were running inside the Kremlin.

@Pluto's Republic

Follow the link in my other tweet. I think it's in that one or the other comment I posted a link in. The 17 intelligence agencies scam is on going because the media won't report the truth. Just like they won't report that judge who told Mueller that he has no evidence that the IRA was connected to Russia's government and to stop reporting it.

As I said down thread the CIA told them that this wasn't true. Why do people writing about this keep leaving this part out?

CIA Crushes CNN's Latest Trump-Russia Conspiracy Theory

What makes this story so ideal for its purpose is that it involves intelligence and state secrets, so the news outlet that runs it doesn’t have to prove a thing; it can simply say it’s not authorized to divulge what it doesn’t write, while hinting it does know. Plus, it can use any number of covert sources.

In a previously undisclosed secret mission in 2017, the United States successfully extracted from Russia one of its highest-level covert sources inside the Russian government, multiple Trump administration officials with direct knowledge told CNN. A person directly involved in the discussions said that the removal of the Russian was driven, in part, by concerns that President Donald Trump and his administration repeatedly mishandled classified intelligence and could contribute to exposing the covert source as a spy.

Other articles state that the CIA extracted him right after Trump became president because they thought he had ties to Vlad. This was before Trumps meeting with the people from Russia in the Oval Office. Why people think Trump didn't have the right to do that is beyond me. Every president meets with foreign leaders however they want.

The decision to carry out the extraction occurred before the meeting happened soon after a May 2017 meeting in the Oval Office in which Trump discussed highly classified intelligence with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and then-Russian Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak. The intelligence, concerning ISIS in Syria, had been provided by Israel. The disclosure to the Russians by the President, though not about the Russian spy specifically, prompted intelligence officials to renew earlier discussions about the potential risk of exposure, according to the source directly involved in the matter.

This country and Russia have been discussing ISIS since Russia got involved with stopping our coup and there is nothing wrong with Trump talking to them about what was happening in Syria. We give Russia a heads up when we do something and they do the same thing. This keeps us from going to war with Russia.... seems like a no brainer to me.

Here is what the reports are leaving out:

Asked for comment, Brittany Bramell, the CIA director of public affairs, told CNN: “CNN’s narrative that the Central Intelligence Agency makes life-or-death decisions based on anything other than objective analysis and sound collection is simply false. Misguided speculation that the President’s handling of our nation’s most sensitive intelligence—which he has access to each and every day—drove an alleged exfiltration operation is inaccurate.”

Then there's this..

Moreover, CNN and MSNBC have hired a number of former intelligence officials, whose fingerprints have been all over ‘Russiagate,’ as anti-Trump pundits.

Brennan, McCabe and other ex intelligence and military people have been helping the media spread its propaganda for a very long time. Brennan still had security clearances when he first started. Not sure if it has been pulled yet or even if that would matter.

Lots more in the article. Russia Gate is not going away any time soon.

that Russia interfered with the election only to find out that it was just 3 people? They said that they believed it happened and high confidence that it did. Welp apparently there was more to the report that we are just now hearing about. How convenient to continue beating the dead Russian horse.

The intelligence community ultimately released the report on January 6, 2017. The declassified version of the assessment, which reflected a unanimous consensus from 17 separate intelligence agencies, not only found that Russia had acted out of direct interest in ensuring Trump’s election but also outlined many of the mechanisms used to do so. Additionally, the intelligence community also briefed Trump on a declassified version. According to The New York Times, the briefing included not just the content of the report but also “texts and emails from Russian military officers and information gleaned from a top-secret source close to Mr. Putin, who had described to the C.I.A. how the Kremlin decided to execute its campaign of hacking and disinformation.” Trump publicly addressed the report on January 11, 2017, at his only press conference during the transition, acknowledging for the first time that Russia had hacked the DNC and John Podesta during the election, but adding, “I think we also get hacked by other countries and other people.”

YOU THINK? But you don't have any proof? Welp that and $5.00 bucks will get you a cupa coffee. Yesterday I read a quote from someone in the CIA that denied this ever happened. But you won't see that in many reports because that would go against the propaganda narrative now wouldn't it?

@fakenews
that's come up pertaining to Tulsi and Trump?

The only meeting between them that I've heard about took place in November 2016, right after the general election. Tulsi met with Trump at his Trump Tower office, so it obviously was not accidental. It was well-publicized, too, so it wasn't a secret that they met.

In an interview earlier this week, Tulsi stated that she's going to take her campaign all the way to the national convention. In response to a question about her running as a third party candidate, she said that she has been a Democrat for a long time, and is committed to running as a Democrat in 2020.

I'm not privy to the inner workings of the Gabbard campaign, but I'd be surprised if she chucked it all to take a position in the notoriously fickle Trump administration. I guess we'll find out soon enough who the next lucky person is to go through the revolving door.

There were reports that Bolton undermined Trump in regards to N. Korean talks at least. Wasn't it Bolton who was spewing talk of a military intervention in VZ? By what accounts I read, Bolton's only solution was war and violence to everything.

Is this a set back for the neocons in the Pentagon and State Dept? I have read stories where Bolton's staff treated high ranking generals with contempt. I vaguely remember reading some general saying that took his orders from Trump and not Bolton. It appeared that Bolton wanted the Pentagon to attack somebody or another without authorization from Trump.

Maybe the generals and political advisers convinced Trump that Bolton was a political liability as any major war before the election would sink Trump, and looks like Bolton was pushing for war with Iran.

But overall good that Trump outright fired Bolton.

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!

For me, this is a National Holiday!

It it were possible, if the illegally contrived charges against the general could be resolved, I would hope Trump would re-appoint Michael Flynn as National Security Adviser. Flynn is what ALL of this has been about from the start, I think. Flynn is that part of our military leadership that has blown the whistle on our involvement with the Sauds in the creation of and the arming of ISIS. It's extremely unlikely that it could happen, but I hope this means Trump will appoint someone who isn't a traitor, someone who doesn't have have dual citizenship with Israel, as Bolton does, and someone who sees the Saudi government for what it is, our enemy.

I have personally stated that Bolton has dual citizenship with Israel, although perhaps not here at c99. A number of months ago at another site, someone called me on that claim, denying it. They asked for proof. Guess what? I couldn't prove it. I didn't even come close. So, while it may be true, I'm still looking for the facts on it. Our Government Is Awash With Foreign Citizens
By Chuck Baldwin
August 09, 2018 "Information Clearing House"

… In my research for this column (which was not exhaustive), I found over 100 members of the U.S. government who are known to be dual U.S.-Israeli citizens. Here is a short sample list (compiled from public documents):

Michael Chertoff
He was the 2nd United States Secretary of Homeland Security (2005 – 2009), serving under G.W. Bush and Barack Obama...

Michael Mukasey
He served as the 81st Attorney General of the United States (2007 – 2009) under President G.W. Bush...

Richard Perle
Perle served as the 1st Assistant Secretary of Defense for Global Strategic Affairs under President Ronald Reagan...

Paul Wolfowitz
Wolfowitz is a political scientist and diplomat who served as the 10th President of the World Bank... United States Deputy Secretary of Defense (2001 – 2005) under G.W. Bush and United States Ambassador to Indonesia (1986 – 1989) under Ronald Reagan and G.H.W. Bush...

Douglas Feith
... Under Secretary of Defense for Policy in the G.W. Bush administration from 2001 to 2005...

Henry Kissinger
Kissinger was the 56th United States Secretary of State from 1973 to 1977 under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. He was Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs from January 1969 until November 1975 under Nixon and Ford... Henry Kissinger—a prominent member of both the Council on Foreign Relations and Trilateral Commission—has been a close personal advisor to every President from John F. Kennedy to Donald Trump.

John Bolton
Bolton is the current National Security Advisor to President Trump...

Additional Israeli citizens serving in high level U.S. government positions include:

Yes, I was working off that list and variations of it. I spent quite a bit of time checking and crosschecking and found it to be wildly inaccurate and mostly unverifiable.

As I recall now, around a year ago I had posted a comment on a Caity Johnstone article at Medium and made the claim that Bolton held dual citizenship with Israel. As previously mentioned, someone took me to task on that claim, insisting I was in error. I searched for several days and could not find that it was true. I did find that many of the people mentioned in several widely circulated "dual citizenship" lists were not dual citizens. I also noted many of these lists are found at wild-eyed CT right-winger sites.

In the end, I deleted my comment at Medium – something I usually do not do.

If you happen to run across a good trustworthy and verifiable source for this type of thing, do let me know. I'm still looking.

@Linda Wood Yes, Flynn did not appear to be on the neocon team that has been pushing Trump around since April 2017. If this marks the end of Trump's war-making detour, it will indeed be an excellent thing for the country and the world. May it be so.

When I offer to wash your back in the shower, all you have to say is yes or no.
Not all this "who are you, and how did you get in here?" nonsense.

I first took notice of him in a 9/29/2002 editorial by Jay Bookman in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that began connecting the dots between 9/11, Bush's push for an Iraqi invasion, and a blueprint for world domination titled "Rebuilding America's Defenses," published by a then-mysterious rightwing neocon collective, Project for a New American Century. At the end of the article, Bookman named six Bush administration officials who were PNAC members and who currently occupied key defense and foreign policy positions in the administration, including Paul Wolfowitz, John Bolton, Eliot Cohen, Lewis Libby, Dov Zakheim, and Stephen Cambone. Bookman notes that,

"Paul Wolfowitz is now deputy defense secretary. John Bolton is undersecretary of state. Stephen Cambone is head of the Pentagon's Office of Program, Analysis and Evaluation. Eliot Cohen and Devon Cross are members of the Defense Policy Board, which advises Rumsfeld. I. Lewis Libby is chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney. Dov Zakheim is comptroller for the Defense Department."

Bookman's editorial followed by two weeks that of Scotland's Neil Mackay, "Bush planned Iraq 'regime change' before becoming President," published in the Sunday Herald, 15 September, 2002.

These two short, concise articles cleared up so much that had not previously made sense. I and some online buddies dug up tons of information, shared and discussed it, and educated ourselves on a small long-since defunct web forum. It was easier to find information in those days. I even printed out PNAC's 2000 document, "Rebuilding America's Defenses," for myself, a long and tedious read, but a few things that stood out were the identification of countries to conquer, a determination to install American military bases all over the globe, an eventual expansion into outer space, and the necessity of a "new Pearl Harbor event" to justify these actions to the American people (this was published in 2000).

Most of the people here would remember all of this, but I am certain that the neocon project remains at the heart of the Deep State/ CIA/ etc. movement, although it has broadened considerably beyond America's defenses to encompass an elite global ruling class protected from the masses (as well as foreign enemies) via mass surveillance and information/media control (including censorship), suppression of democracy, and a readiness to implement police state tactics when deemed necessary. We've all seen signs of these developments occurring around us.

Both articles have been scrubbed from the web in their original form. I'm unable to find Mackay's original on the Wayback Machine, but it has been archived on other websites including https://archives.globalresearch.ca/articles/MAC209A.html

Bookman's editorial is no longer available at the original website but copies exist, including Information Clearing House’s copy which has been archived on the Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20190101175417/http://www.informationclearin...

In recent years we've seen the blending of "Democrats" with neocons including the now-cuddly Bushes, we've seen immense hatred toward those such as Donald Trump, Tulsi Gabbard, Bernie and his supporters, who refuse to get on board with the basic PNAC agenda, although it looked like the political neophyte Donald Trump had folded, especially with the appointment of John Bolton. Could it be that Trump is waking up to reality? Will he resist? Or is that a ridiculously pie in the sky hope?

Lurking in the wings is Hillary, like some terrifying bat hanging by her feet in a cavern below the DNC. A bat with theropod instincts. -- Fred Reed https://tinyurl.com/vgvuhcl

@laurel

for the links and for your great comment.

Today being September 11, 2019, I want to say that the call for a new Pearl Harbor on the part of the PNAC before 9/11 has always been stunningly enigmatic. So blatant, if it was an admission of guilt for having caused 9/11 or for allowing it to happen, it seems impossible to believe such powerful people would have written it. But as the years went by it seemed more and more a statement of why they did it, their case for the necessity of such an attack, written with the understanding that there was sufficient evidence from the beginning that their echelon of government was complicit in the training, funding, and coordination of Al Qaeda activity.
