"Riding the rails, beware of third, lest one excites oneself into spaces unknown."

Funny, this tweet video brought tears to this old man's heart.

Beads in human splendor

Walking on,
influence left in genes changed in style for fifty years,
living as i breathe
"nip, nip, nip, yoew!"

Yet genes remain the same,
simple, wild and free

We remember you, Peter,
thanks for riding the rail.

going to be a beauty.

Hell of a week; absorbing test results of last Friday. Great team of specialists, i have, so fortunate to be under their care and to have Medicare, plan F. Appears i have another underlying autoimmune disease which needs ferreting out; loaded up with more visits to Rivendell until December.

Good news: after three previous appeals, went to administrative court against medicare and drug company this Thursday via telephone conference with judge in California. We won, began the new drug yesterday.

'All well that ends well,' eh?

Written in hopes you all have a wonderful day and weekend.

to hear about your victory over the medicine lords and hope the new med works or at leat helps. So what's up with the new AI disease? Total mystery or what? Having a couple, and close relatives with a few more, I always wonder about the interaction of the biological and the environmental, somewhere in the epigenetics meets toxic soup hyper-colloidal bowl of jello that is life as we know it today.

Best of luck sorting it out.

No farmers' market today, gotta do last minute trip prep (getaway mañana) and camping food menus instead. Also gotta get the pears canned today, joint effort, but I'm mostly assistant and schlepper, with my wife doing the skilled work.

Have a great weekend.

Began searching in March for the unknown, zeroing in, hopefully, those pesky ANA bodies causing havoc, could be the c or a few other disease, suspicious of those associated with interstitial lung disease and pulmonary arterial hypertension, but six months of testing and we ain't there yet.

Thanks for your concern, we'll work it out if anyone can, this team will i should say.

Forgot where you're off to this trip, think you shared and i've forgotten.

Glad you enjoyed the beads, quite an old piece technically.

Safe and beautiful journey to you two, you make a good pear ... Smile

“Denmark would be interested in purchasing the United States in its entirety, with the exception of its government,” the spokesperson added.

A key provision of the purchase offer, the spokesperson said, would be the relocation of Donald Trump to another country “to be determined,” with Russia and North Korea cited as possible destinations.

If Denmark’s bid for the United States is accepted, the Scandinavian nation has ambitious plans for its new acquisition. “We believe that, by giving the U.S. an educational system and national health care, it could be transformed from a vast land mass into a great nation,” the spokesperson said. https://www.newyorker.com/humor/borowitz-report/denmark-offers-to-buy-us

I got good news from my oncologist this week, and there's no better kind of news for me right now. After a terrifying cancer diagnosis last year, then good news out of surgical pathology which made it slightly less terrifying, I am currently NED, no evidence of disease. Gotta keep testing for a while to be all the way sure but this is super encouraging.

We all need to hear about victories when it comes to cancer scares. My Sister was diagnosed last year and she too is NED. It was a truly frightening time for all of us. Shakes you up and pin points what is truly important in your relationships like nothing else. Pettiness and old grudges melt away like icicles in a furnace.

Glad to hear about your victory.

If anyone checks in with access to the autopsy report on Epstein, I for one, would like to know what it says altogether. I've read about some broken or cracked vertebrae, and a broken hyoid bone.

Only news I saw today is that the coroner ruled his death a 'suicide'.

The two sleeping guards, one a rent-a-cop....hmmmmmm.

Thanks for the OT smiley. Take care.

Have a morning Croissant on me. Cheers for the good wishes.

As to he who's sleeping with fishes, haven't read anything but CT that affirms they know 'the how' of supposed suicide.

Saw photo of his alleged accomplice eating n'-and-out burgers in LA the other day. Thought that was rather bold of her; but hey, what do i know about the behavior of gilded society?

Read a piece the other day making a comparison to Fitzgerald's characters in Gatsby and felt poetically offended. the article used this quote:

“I couldn’t forgive him or like him, but I saw that what he had done was, to him, entirely justified. It was all very careless and confused. They were careless people, Tom and Daisy—they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.”
― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

In my opinion, Epstein, Trump and company debase Tom and Daisy.

Thanks for being here and hope France delivers her splendor to you today.

@smiley7 well it's a mixed bag with Macron here. It's like being in the Reagan years all over again. He is poisonous.

the French are so used to things working, and everyone knowing where they belong and what the belong to, that the things Macron is doing in his five year stint as king in Paris, are so far away, they don't feel or see the changes....yet.

The Yellow Vest movement and the over reaction of Macron using police is what is waking folks up.

The nuances of what started the movement, had to do with truck drivers and moyens (average Joes) paying at the pump to discourage use of diesel, really the only fuel here right now. Not sure that message penetrated other than those like truck drivers and agriculture workers got it.

All the while giving subsidies to the fossil fuel and nuclear industries; inviting corporations in to take over and make private entities which have been part of the CommonWealth: Paris airports, TGV, Air France (previous king) Alcatel; and many others. I can get a list by which French president publicly-owned entities have been transferred to private assets. As fast as he can go. Breaking unions too.

But in my town of 3300 we have at least five bakeries; next town over the same. Small hamlets have bakeries too, some if they use butter rather than oil, make the best croissants.

We were here in 2010 when Hollande changed retirement from 60 to 62. The kids were first in line to say via Manifestations 'where are our jobs?'. Shut down rail, oil terminals, airports. We got caught several times on TGV runs with no service as the tracks were blocked. The citoyens didn't seem to mind, just changed their plans. Nowadays, working people complain if the trains aren't running because they can't get to their jobs.

most of the world falls under it's insipid influence. As i've written, a damn shame about privatizing the trains, the old eurailpass won't be what it used to be, for instance. Still, i'd rather be there instead of the US of A where we've paved paradise.

Had only the British not have kicked me out after drama school and working on the British stage--long story about American Actor's Equity's revenge for so many Broadway shows importing English actors at the time, i got caught in the middle of that fight; i've often wondered the difference it would have made to have stayed in Europe. This is on how his death was ruled a suicide

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2019/08/17/epst-a17.html

This is about how his lawyers are questioning the report that he did the deed himself

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2019/08/16/epst-a16.html

Why is the media insisting it's a CT to question his death?

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2019/08/13/pers-a13.html

I post a vid in last night's EBs that showed the inside of a cell in the special housing unit of that jail and it showed that the bed was just a concrete slab a few feet off the ground so there was nothing on his bed he could tie something to. There has not been one suicide in over 40 years there.

My opinion is that he was either killed because he wanted to do a plea deal or he was removed alive from the prison. I think his lawyers will have more to say. But they should have insisted on having their own ME at the autopsy or have one done by their ME. If not....?

Glad to hear reports of good news on the medical front for you Smiley and Reverend Jane. Those are always welcome. Enjoying my cool morning here on the balcony watching the day unfold over the mountains, birds chirping, but now must finish coffee and get some chores done. This weekend is Indian market so may take the bus down to plaza to check out the scene. Have a good day all!

having shared so many online journeys over the years. I recall the plaza.

It's a good day to get out. Having nursed my sciatica all week, i'm promised a fishing buddy, an old student, to go fishing and i've a new fly-rod to get acquainted with.

Thanks for the kind words and for being here; enjoy the Indian market and please, vicariously purchase some spices for me, too. Smile

@smiley7 Thanks for the video. It is also opera season here and my sister visiting from Michigan suggested we do a behind the scenes tour of the Opera house which we did. Fascinating and the views! Am attending the apprentice series Sunday night where short vignettes of the operas this season will be performed. Tickets were only $15 instead of usual very expensive ones. And I actually have a very good seat. Waiting for bus to the market.

Was reading not long ago where India was making progress on the poverty front; ah well, being quite frank, i've never gotten over my bias for their caste system, bad of me. Sorry to share my truth, but, it's there and in hindsight, the British didn't help them any.
Guess the best one can hope for is that more individuals with no control over their lives die because of power or religion ...

Thanks for the links.

You have talked about him before haven't you? Someone once mentioned doing an essay where people can post photos of their pets. I would be happy to do this if people are interested in it. Past and present fur faces would be welcome as well as stories about them.

This is Bodega my springer who never saw a puddle of water that she didn't do laps in.

I went to Mammoth Lakes and spent one day in Reds Valley and Bo saw this pond and in she went. People just laughed and laughed at her.

IMG_3684.JPG

I lived by a golf course and every winter it would collect these huge puddles. As I drove in Bo would get all excited because she knew I would let her go play in them. She was a great dawg who loved to watch golf on TV and help people find their lost golf balls.

IMG_3683.JPG

Let me know if anyone is interested in a pet essay.

So glad to hear of your victory. I wish you well with your further testing. Thanks for the video from Canada. May be old but so appropriate now. And very Buddhist. Somewhere they say everything eats something or ‘someone’. But the end is too salient.

My recent joy has been saving a Monarch cocoon. It was taken by a friend who volunteers at the Monarch preserve. They will watch it and test it for parasites when it emerges.
