Ruling Elite says STFU about Bernie
Listen up, peasants. We are getting a little tired of repeating ourselves.
Bernie can't/won't win. It's not possible, in the exact same way that you can't have universal health care or a pause in our endless wars of choice.
It's absolutely bonkers that you even have the nerve to think you could have things that most of the rest of the world take for granted.
Your rulers will define the limits of your reality, so shut the Hell up about Bernie!
Both the right-wing and the center-right, which is the extent of our political spectrum, agree that Bernie has already lost in 2020.
So you may as well just give up.
Again.
We told you last year that it was hopeless, but you didn't listen.
You may have noticed that we are fair and unbiased in this regard, and only endlessly repeat how immensely popular candidates are hopelessly doomed when we really, really mean it.
As opposed to our chosen, much-hyped candidates like Beto and Booker and Harris that can't crack double-digits.
So then we told you that Bernie was a dirty campaigner with our dirty campaign smears.
Once again, we are fair and balanced with this because we've done the same thing with other candidates, like, um...
And then there is you, the people that we truly despise. Poor people who don't know their place.
Working class people who don't grovel before their master's coach and worship their master's wealth.
You people disgust us.
Which is why you force us to project our own misogyny and racism upon you.
The more that you don't listen to your betters, the more we must smear you, censor you, and shout you down. This effort just makes us hate you all the more.
You are forcing us to overtly oppress you and that victimizes us by causing us to spend money and time that could be better used exploiting you for our profit and pleasure.
Can't you see the harm you are doing to us? Why can't you think about anyone but yourselves?
If you make us unleash lethal police and military force against you because you actually think you deserve peace, justice and health care, you will have no one to blame but yourself.
You should feel lucky we let you dirty peasants even exist.

Perhaps Sanders should stop being controlled opposition
and join up with the Greens or PSL. But no, no, we have to work within the Capitalist Party to get what we want.

Guerrilla Liberalism won't liberate the US or the world from the iron fist of capital.
I think you misunderstand the problem
Bernie isn't the problem here. (Well, Bernie isn't the primary problem. He's more of a secondary problem).
The problem here is the peasants that won't do as they are told.
Bernie wouldn't even be a factor if it wasn't for the dirty, unruly proles that have forgotten their place.
It's OK for you to hate Bernie. It's OK for you to hate other peasants.
It's even OK to think that you deserve better, as long as you aren't willing to act on that idea.
I wish you could say something that would make me feel
better about Bernie. He seems to be completely deranged on the subject of Russia. (I could cite his recent CNN piece defending the FBI's witch-hunt or his Senate speech about Russia "meddling"-but I won't).
Since 2016, Bernie seems to have completely sold his soul to the DNC. I guess a Tulsi VP slot would assuage my concern, but I have to say he's been a real disappointment.

TULSI 2020
If that's the case
Then the ruling elite are playing an amazing game of phony opposition to Bernie.
I mean we are talking about Hollywood-quality acting.
You'll have to forgive me for not believing that they are this organized.
Shame on you. You aren't that dense. My point was that
Bernie is trying to suck up to the DNC (in hopes that they wouldn't screw him again?) not that he was getting anything in return so far(or would ever).
An alternative explanation would be that Bernie is dumb enough to believe what he's been saying on the subject.
My preference is for him to STFU on the subject (see his Assange position for example).

TULSI 2020
I would sure like to understand why he's doing this
He has to know that Russia didn't steal the election from Herheinous nor do they have anything over Trump. Hillary just made that up along with people in Obama's administration. How he can think that the rest of country would just sit back while a foreign country had control over the president is just dumb. This goes for the other Russia Gaters too. It'd be treason and an impeachable offense. Besides Trump has been harder on Russia than even Obama was. I'd think that Vlad would have a problem with Trump's selling weapons to Ukraine and putting troops into countries that surround Russia. And hold war games right off of Russia's coast.
Bernie also says that Madura didn't win the election fair and square like Hillary did. The Venezuelan elections were much more fair than our primary was. So why is he going along with Trump and the democrats on this? I've read that lots of his supporters are just as upset about that as you are.
Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?
Not looking good for future diplomacy with Russia.
Perhaps This Requires a Bit of a Refocus?
The goal is not to govern, it is to govern so poorly that trust in governance fails and we're left to the mercy market.
The General Welfare is just not profitable at this point in time. This is why Drumpf was allowed.
The idea that the opposition is feigning the attack on Bernie, or that it is manufactured or Kabuki is completely the reality. It's all a running gag line. Bernie taking part in this fashion, to my eyes, means he's in on the gag. It's a bummer, but it's what I see.
Right Face, March. Left Face, Fire!

I agree
The only reason he is going along with watching the dems screw him again and playing along with Russia gate and Venezuela is because he is in on it. How many other candidates have signed an agreement that if they lose they will support the candidate? Hey, where are ByeDone's taxes? Has he released them yet? Thoughts on reparations? .....

I didn't mean to imply anything.
My bad for being unclear.
Thanks

Bottom line: Socialism isn't going to happen under the current cultural paradigm, and working to resurrect that coward FDR won't make it so.
Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.
Guerrilla Liberalism won't liberate the US or the world from the iron fist of capital.
It's not going to happen with a third party, either.
Not until the (D) party collapses totally.
That's just the way the world is, not the way I like it.
Astoundingly, the Universe doesn't care what I want. Neither do the Corporations and their owned political parties.
I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.
I couldn't agree with you more, Aspie.
I do not think, because you have been mistreated by the corporatist/elite system, that you would ever move outside the law to be heard or to take action. I recently read a comment from a c99er that called for violence. It was not you.
You are the "treated like a slave but isn't slave" person that thinks you are being singled out. Well, I and my family, my friends, my neighbors...are possibly not in your boat, but in the one floating right beside you.
We are in this together, Aspie. How to get out of this slavery imposed by the elites is something beyond my imagination and abilities, but it sure ain't happening by electing Bernie.

This
Bernie knows how they plan on stealing the primary again because of how many people are running this time to make sure that no one wins the first round of voting. Is he addressing this or have a plan to deal with it when they do it? Or will he just accept and sign on to support the democratic candidate which he has already pledged to do so?
This article is interesting I think. Many people know exactly why there are so many people running. But does Bernie? Sure he does.
It's more terrible than you think
Street ends with this.
The other question is what will people do this time? Is there anything that can be done?

most excellent gj
Great piece of work gj! Tulsi and Gravel are getting the Bernie treatment of his prior contest, while due to popularity they are relegated to smearing Sanders and his supporters. The propa machine is in high gear trying to nip these upstarts in the bud. And would probably be succeeding if it were not for you putin 'pologists. The deranged power freaks can only manage sheeple. They are lost on real people, real thinking people.
Thanks and keep up the good work spreading the good word!

Comment I posted in this morning's OT
Since this is an OT I want to make a Bernie comment. I have donated very small amounts so several other campaigns, Tulsi, Mike Gravel, Marianne Williamson . . . and I like Andrew too.
Bernie is doing something incredibly wonderful while he is campaigning this time. He is not just doing his stump speech every time. He is focusing on specific issues and going into great detail. This weekend I watched the town hall in SC on education. As a former teacher and parent, I thought it was excellent. And as an Iowa farm kid, still part owner of a farm there, the town hall in Iowa I watched about a month ago which dealt with a plan to help small farmers just blew my mind. Of course Tulsi's antiwar speeches, Andrew's UBI interviews, Mike Gravel's extremely progressive views, and even Marianne's Dept. of peace and other progressive views add to the mix.
So what's happening is that these candidates are building a progressive platform and educating the masses big time.
Bernie is still the energizer bunny. He keeps working and working.
*next comment*
Another impressive thing about these town halls . . .
@enhydra lutris
He has two or three local speakers passionately and intelligently addressing the same topic before he takes the stage. Really reinforces the message with the audience IMO.

I too have noticed that Bernie is campaigning better
this time around. I hope it will continue to pay off. He still knocks the numbers dead in rally attendance compared to the other 25 hopefuls.

Got a mesage from a friend (though he supports Tulsi)
...he is feeling the Bern. Bernie showed up in the "Ham" (Birmingham that is) this weekend during the anti- anti abortion protests.

I like Bernie too, but Tulsi's antiwar message resonates with me. Although I appreciated Bernie's comments

but it does not go quite as far as Tulsi in my mind...

I will vote for Tulsi in the primary , but would be happy to vote Bernie if he gets the nomination.

Tulsi Gabbard Says She Would Drop Julian Assange Charges and Pardon Edward Snowden
“What would you do about Julian Assange, what would you do about Edward Snowden?” Rogan asked. Gabbard said, if elected, she would drop the Assange charges and pardon Snowden.
“We have got to address why [Snowden] did things the way that he did them,” she said. “You hear the same thing from Chelsea Manning, how there is not an actual channel for whistleblowers like them to bring forward information that exposes egregious abuses of our constitutional rights and liberties, period. There was not a channel for that to happen in a real way, and that’s why they ended up taking the path that they did, and suffering the consequences.”

Resistance is futile.
The MSM has anointed Biden the Borg our 2020 candidate. Divergence will not be tolerated. We must obey.
I have noticed that the MSM is a Bernie-free zone.
Apparently the beatings will continue until morale improves.

One has to imagine --
that Sady Doyle (who wrote the Bernie Sanders' Ugly Campaigning piece) is a pure creation of David Brock -- as if somewhere in a dark cellar he had an electrical set-up with a hastily-assembled collection of human body parts lying on a metal slab, and his servant Igor flipped the switch...

I don't agree about flooding the field with candidates
due to the 15% threshold to receive delegates. Whether you have 20 candidates or 200, only the top 3 or 4 candidates will receive any significant numbers of delegates. The thing to do if you wanted to sabotage the Sanders campaign would be to flood the field with progressive candidates to split the progressive vote so that even Sanders, with the lion's share of the progressive vote, would fall below 15% in most contests. Then you would want a single centrist candidate to grab nearly all the delegates in most contests. But that's not what we're seeing. Most of the field are third-string centrist candidates. Once Biden stumbles and his supporters move to their second choices, the centrist candidates are the ones who will have trouble garnering 15%. Only Sanders and Warren are getting double digit support on the progressive side, and Warren is hovering below 15%.
It's still a long way to Iowa and a lot can happen.
New topic: Russiagate. Why is Bernie playing nice with the DNC and Russiagate? Because you have to pick your battles. If you're looking for a leader who is going to blow up the Democratic party once and for all, Sanders ain't your guy. He's trying to win the Democratic nomination and get Democratic voters to vote for him, trying to be elected President and accomplish ... something. Picking public fights with the establishment will draw everyone's attention away from issues. The media would love nothing more than to quit talking about Medicare for All and relitigate the last election, covering nothing but horserace and he said/she said. Trump will be able to run in his neo-fascist echo chamber without ever being challenged on issues and he would win a second term. It's a guaranteed loser and Sanders is too talented a politician to fall for it.

The problem with the Blue Dog strategy...
is that in their minds those 'third string centrist candidates' ARE the Progressive field flooders.
And they would be ... if this were still the 90's.
The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?
The other truth is that Dem field doesn't know how to deal
with Biden. How do I attack my grandfather? He's nice at picnics and gives me presents at Xmas. I always use my best shampoo when he is attending?

How to deal with Biden
There's one sure fire way to do it ... focus on issues. The cross tabs on the polls we've seen so far show that Biden has the lion's share of support in the 50 and up age group. If you want to win the nomination, either as a progressive or as a centrist, you need to get many of those voters on your side not piss them off.
Bringing up the Gropin' Joe situation convinces some people, but not all. The corruption issue (big money donations) is a concern concentrated among younger voters. Older voters will take it for granted.
Biden has nothing to offer on solutions. Make him say it out loud. "You'll never get single payer", "Free college is like getting a pony", "be realistic, it'll never happen".
If you let the race stay at virtue signaling, personality, and who you want to have a beer with, Biden has a real shot. Dive down to substance and he'll crumble.
Sanders has already said "I know Biden, he's a good guy, if he wins the nomination I'll support him, now let's talk about issues." That's the way forward.
