Tulsi Needs 22,525 New Donors by May 15

Well, she has been definitely closing the gap! In the last 4 days, Tulsi has gone from needing about 27,000 new donors to now needing 22,525. The deadline is also now defined: May 15.

See the email from the Tulsi campaign today:

tulsidonations.jpg

It looks as though they have 200 donors from at least 20 states (which is another one of the requirements), which is cool.

Edit to add: If you have not yet donated and want to see Tulsi Gabbard in the Democratic debates, go to Tulsi2020 and follow the links to donate--or even if you have already donated and wish to donate more!

Alternatively, if you prefer to pay by check, mail your check, name, address, occupation, and company you work for to:

Tulsi Now
PO Box 75255
Kapolei, HI 96707

UPDATE: Tulsi got 1,780 new donors in the past day! Yesterday, I figured she would need to get 403 new donors per day until May 15 in order to reach the goal, so she is currently on a good pace.

Is almost finished with her painting of a Peace poster for Tulsi. She agreed to let me post it, unfinished (very unlike her), if it would help inspire more people to at least give Tulsi a chance to be heard at the Debates.

Hope it inspires others to give.

I felt some inspiration yesterday. And for the first time in three years gave a few bucks to someone whose message and composure are impressive.

A leftist is someone with morally correct politics. A liberal is someone who wants to feel morally correct w/o ever putting themselves at odds with power or costing themselves opportunities or experiencing the uncomfortable emotions that truth causes.

@Bisbonian This is really wonderful work. Today I bought a Tulsi campaign yard sign (partly to again be counted in the 65,000) and now I just wish I could have that peace poster. Good that each of us is doing what we can in our own individual way. Hats off to you for posting this treasure.

in the mail yesterday. Party insiders are pretty sure they can make the "anti-gay" smear stick. I don't think so. Big doins' at D-M this weekend, Thunderbirds are in town along with some warbirds, saw a B-17 and a B-25 overhead yesterday.

I think it's a requirement that they ask for occupation and employer. Not sure it is required to give that information.

and expresses her spirit as a peace-loving fighter very well.

I donate to her on a monthly basis and I am sure it doesnt count for anything that would move her on to the debate stage.

Unlike most I have to fight against my own pessimistic outlook. No comedy and their comedians, sarcasm, humor, music, cynicism, funny jokes will make my outlook any more optimistic.

I still am in awe from where folks, who support her in spirit, take their strength to believe in the fight they are engaged in, when supporting her. All I have for those, who do support her, are as many kudos I can make to them.

I wished I had the 'American capability' to keep on hoping against all odds. At least I am glad you here are not like me. You are young, the next generation, and keep on fighting on in her support. Thank God.

On the other hand I would love to come back to the US and help in person. Sigh. Since I returned to Germany (not with the plan or intention to stay, au contraire to find support for my plans in the US. But I was tricked and betrayed into it being stuck in Germany) I have lost 3/4 of my savings, lost my mental health, my physical health and am unable to understand how I could fight to get back all three. So foregive my negative comments (especially you, Mark from Queens). There will be another spring ... and I have to stop whining.

Good luck, Tulsi. And thanks to all good people who support Tulsi Gabbard right now. I consider you as my friends.

"No regime change wars" sounds a lot like "No stupid wars" to me, where are the names and donations required to go if she fails that arbitrary D-goal? To another D, maybe an F-35 job creator eh? caveat emptor

NO WARS

@eyo and no stupid wars sound about right to me. There are certain limited circumstances when war is necessary. WW2 at a certain late point was probably unavoidable. But nothing in the 75 yrs since. We should be antiwar generally, but not to the point of complete passivism.

@wokkamile Her message was definitely anti stupid war. Pointed out the last time congress authorized a war was WW2. On her visit to Syria her view was formed from talking to various factions and she was told if Assad was overthrown it would open up a free for all with ISIS prob. filling the vacuum. She also emphasized the suffering of the people that the US inflicts as collateral damage. My impression was that using the military to be the worlds policeman pretty much made our foreign policy = military enforcement, much like we use law enforcement at home. Also, if we feel it's right to topple governments we don't like, how can we tell China or Russia that their actions are illegal.

@eyo @eyo

where are the names and donations required to go if she fails that arbitrary D-goal?

I was thinking about this very thing, as I was driving around doing errands this afternoon.

From what I understand, that "65,000 unique donors by May 15" rule only applies to qualifying for the first debate. Would Tulsi drop out of the race entirely if she doesn't reach that mark? I don't know the answer to that. I wouldn't automatically assume that she would.

If Tulsi does decide to drop out at some point, what would she do with the money donated to her? Again, I don't know the answer to that.

I've decided that to me personally, the answer doesn't matter. What matters to me right now, Friday, March 22, 2019, is getting Tulsi Gabbard onto the debate stage.

I want to see her debate, so I bought a button and gave her 27$.
Then I saw how much I gave to Bernie...700$. Depressing. I phone banked and caucused and donated to Bernie. I didn't like the way he folded in the end and I just can't bring myself to donate to him now.
I voted Jill in the election. My measly money can't save Merica. I wonder what can?

@TaZsa @TaZsa And I voted Green in 2016.

I want to see Tulsi on the debate stage so I contributed to try to get her over the 65,000 contributions threshold.

Even if she doesn't get into the debates, she will have still made a tremendous contribution to bringing up the follies and downright evil nature of the current course of US militarism.

I'm sure Bernie spent sleepless nights in making his decision to support the loser in the 2016 presidential contest. But he's lived to fight another day. And at this point, he is still fighting and bucking the odds for the largest progressive critical mass movement we've had in our recent history.

For me the best hope lays in that movement because it goes beyond any one person. I'm not going to save the planet. Bernie's not going to do it by himself. He's not the messiah. He's never claimed to be and I have no reason to believe that he wants to be.

I'm a pretty pessimistic person and I'm not so sure he can win the nomination. But the thing that keeps me going in the face of the 12 year window allowing us to stem the tide of climate change and the nuclear doomsday clock ticking at two minutes to midnight is that I don't see any other viable option for even so much as the hope of progressive change at this critical juncture in human history. I don't see any other movement coming into being in the very short time we have to act (and that's scientists speaking not just miserable pessimistic ol' me).

So just to reiterate, I hope you don't despair if Tulsi can't pull it off. I'm not giving up until Bernie drops out of the race. I'm just willing to make this last effort. And it seems to me that this is indeed our last chance given that 12 year window of environmental opportunity that's surely progressively closing at this point and that clock so close to midnight.

If Bernie can't pull it off, then we can settle in to doing the best we can in our immediate lives towards the common good. Love and the peace in our hearts will live on.

doesn't need it IMHO. Last night I received my button, tee shirt, and yard sign.
I took my wife, my son, and his girl friend to see her speak in S.F. last Sunday.
I find her courage and calm resolve very inspiring. She is a modern day Arjuna and I love the way she rejects labeling.
I hope everyone will find it in their hearts to donate. We need her voice in the debates.
