Framing in the social sciences refers to a set of concepts and theoretical perspectives on how individuals, groups, and societies organize, perceive, and communicate about reality.

Good day all. Welcome to another attempt at a somewhat sensible description of life, longing and disbelief.

Have lately been working on a study of an obscure branch of information management. The voyage began at a workshop put on by an outfit calling itself "Better Angels". It was billed as an exercise in bridging, thru dialogue, the chasm between right / left, liberal / conservative, establishment / progressive ideologies. It was fun, in a way, as we were randomly assigned either a red or blue slip of paper. Then paired with someone possessing the 'other' color. I asked for green, but it wasn't an option. HA. Play acting imitates life.

A couple of social issues were suggested to discuss, with an accompanying list of strategies to consider when confronting an opposing point of view. Rather than saying, for instance: You're full of sh*t, respond by showing you have grasped the scope of their belief. The presumed benefit of this approach is to leave the door open to further discussion.

I had several problems with the presumptive outcomes, but thoroughly enjoyed my sparing partner -- a retired scientist. We threw away the script and had a wonderful exploration of life, the universe and everything instead.

This is a rather long way around to my original theme. Sometimes we just go off on tangents. Anyway, I was hoping to delve into the subject of how and why the information managers control the narrative we are fed, in order to shape opinions and manufacture consent for inhumane, immoral and insane acts. Like war, intolerance or extreme inequality. There are many theories and facts floating about.

Framing refers to the social construction of a social phenomenon often by mass media sources, political or social movements, political leaders, or other actors and organizations. It is an inevitable process of selective influence over the individual's perception of the meanings attributed to words or phrases.

Information control to lead the "sheeple" is not new. The hyper connectivity of electronic communications is relatively new and has amplified it's effects.
Critical thinking has become a detraction in corporate "merika". If you're not an unquestioning yes person you are negative thinker and undesirable.

Unless they're willing to get help.

The DNC is not willing to get help. In fact they will tell you at LENGTH how they don't need help. Anybody who says differently is clearly insane or bought by the enemy.

You wanna stay in that relationship, that's YOUR problem.

I do not pretend I know what I do not know.

@detroitmechworks Ever notice how they think that we're the ones than need help. That's not what the voices inside my head tell me.

@Snode Every time I DO get help... it just shows me how much more insane the MSM and Democrats are. Isn't that strange? Clearly I must have bad therapists.

Ah hell with it, some nice music that makes me feel good.

So many of these kinds of stories have a way of imploding upon closer examination.

@lotlizard By MSM definition, that makes them racists. Doesn't matter if they were approached. Doesn't matter if people were screaming racial epithets at them. According to the MSM, wearing that hat makes them effectively "Waving a Red Flag". Anything that happens to them from that point is their own lookout.

The MSM will not apologize for the "Justified" smear, and the kids getting death threats for not immediately Kowtowing are in for a rough ride.

But hey, look on the bright side... the MSM is supposedly on "OUR" side.

So clever! About to leave out to go see the cranes this AM. Supposed to be some whoopers among the sandhills this year. I was surprised to find the Federal wildlife refuge open for business. May be volunteers running the show. There's a neat observation glass house. It has mics around it piping in the bird calls.

Have a good one all!

Have to run out to check on a friend's house in Newport. The gas supply is out and it's 10 below with the wind. Frozen pipes issues. Sheesh, always something!
Good luck.

Drove through a snow storm to work this am. It was starting to stick, but I was an early bird, so no problems - followed the slow movers through the mountain canyon, staying on old route 66 into ABQ - it was beautiful and peaceful. It's been raining this morning in town - nice.

Short week for me. Only working three days this week - BONUS! HOO-YAH! Going to the hot springs down south for three days to soak these weary bones, eat some lovely food, and enjoy the local brewery night life. Can't wait for Friday!

Propaganda - learn to recognize it.

Have a beautiful day, folks! Pleasantry

Loved the hot springs along the base of the Mogollon Rim. Brought us back to life more than once. Have fun!

But the big disaster was this

More than 100 security forces members have been killed in a Taliban assault on a military base in eastern Afghanistan, an official said.

An interior ministry spokesperson said a suicide car bomber struck the base first, followed by insurgents who opened fire at the Afghan forces in Maidan Shar, the capital of Maidan Wardak province.

An official in the defence ministry, speaking anonymously, told Reuters the death toll was as high as 126.

“We have information that 126 people have been killed in the explosion inside the military training center,” the official said.

@gjohnsit
succumbing to US military training. They either run out of fighters or the coalition will help them disappear. US 'allies' suffer more than US mercenaries. Teaching them who to better oppose.
