Another mass shooting in Rhode Island kills two and injures three. A transgender person goes berserk at hockey game his/her own son was participating in.
Kinda makes one go hmm.
In other news, Oregon is floating the idea of banning hunting and fishing in the entire state.
Aside of the devastation to the hunting and fishing industry, whether it be the guides and charters, the mom and pop sporting goods stores lakeside, or the big box sporting goods stores, the hit on people who survive on fish and game animals will be appalling.
Or is this an end run to eventually ban all firearms? After all, why would the public need firearms if hunting were banned? We have the police to (cough) protect us.
They need something like 117k signatures to get it on the ballot in November. Supposedly, they have 100k already. I'm going to do some digging this morning and see if I can determine who is behind this.
I mean, we already know it's not the NRA.

I'm reading that in some of the back country of California they are expecting up to eight feet of the white stuff. Maybe end their years long persistent drought.

Another way to view the issue is they should not
be subject to medical cocktail experimentation. Over time other fragile populations have become subject to federal and state regulations requiring periodic medication use review. The intent ideally to prevent the individual harm from medical prescibers. Drugs effecting mental conditions have a wide range of harmful effects.

I think you're operating on old tapes (and I use that last word consciously).
They've been behaving SO obnoxiously that they've thoroughly alienated me - and I should have far more sympathy than most. We're a long, long way from the days when even Trump-voters could acknowledge them as "gentle souls" (per a 2016 article in The Atlantic, of all places, which, oh gee, I can no longer seem to find the original of).
"Trans-trenders" aren't the lost souls who seeking sanctuary at the Stonewall Inn. They're not a logical extension of the gay-marriage movement. They are disastrously-misdiagnosed victims of a devolutionary, greedy, Kafkaesque, epidermisless, HUMORLESS cult born from an unholy union of COINTELPRO, Big Pharma profiteers, possibly Old-World globalitarians who think of this as simply a new means of gelding unruly cattle, and (H/T George Will) Lumpenintelligentsia who haven't left their ivory-tower publishing-circles in decades, and so assturbate up ideas and arguments for the sake of their own choirs with neither capacity for nor interest in genuinely new ideas or real-world consequences (I know the latter are real, I have taken some of their classes).

Trans people are not a new thing
They have been around, under various names and cultural identifications, for all of known history and longer. (I know, or know of, at least four personally, none of whom have ever shown any indication of going violently off the rails.)
The current question appears to be whether medically prescribed hormones are, in certain cases, doing more harm than good, or social pressures are affecting behavior, or
a combination of both. It IS certain that hostility to trans people (and other gender-nonconforming people) is on the rise, probably for nefarious political reasons.

What is new is that they are EARNING it.
Admittedly it's been a while, but the current President has gone on record as saying "Caitlin Jenner should be able to pee where she[!] wants". Fine with me, who needs sex-segregated restrooms to begin with? The alternative is nothing new either.
The nefarious politics I see are presently coming from the opposite direction, and while of course you're going to have C-list politicians saying dolt-y things to stir the pot, there is at present very little need for anyone else to defame Trans-Trenders when they are doing such a good job themselves. I would never say these things if I had not seen it with my own eyes.

The titles all sound super-broad (just "hormones affect behavior"); I was hoping for something SPECIFICALLY scrutinizing the kind of hormones prescribed in HRT, which is what your previous post made it sound like you'd seen.

that hormone replacement therapy has been prescribed for perimenopausal/post-menopausal cis women for decades now. The benefits and risks for this particular application have been thoroughly studied and are well understood by now.

Actually history of HRT safety has shifted pro and con
over the years. Currently general consensus consider them safe, but there are pockets of dissent. The long-term safety studies which resulted in products in products removed from the market are currently described as poorly designed, not relevant and ignore the results. New products have been introduced to the market. However there are no recent longterm studies looking at the same questions.
Replacement therapy is not the same as transition therapy. Historical use of HRT can not be used to predict short and long term effects of transition therapy. Transition therapy often includes hormone blockers to suppress natural production of hormones with addition of hormone therapy of desired sexual orientation hormones. Complicating expected outcomes is the age transition therapy is started length of time the body used its own production capability producing hormones.
This patient population group also has high use of anti-anxiety, antidepressants, pain and attention deficit disorder therapies. It is a complex issue and deserves serious, thoughtful discussion if aggressive medical therapy is causing more harm than benefit.

The Oregon bill seems to target food sovereignty
by placing veterinarians controlled by "best practices" and a new state governing board over all non-plant based proteins used by humans and pets. In a broad interpretation could also restrict common practices to control mice and squirrels. It is similar to failed initiative for lack of signatures from a few years go.
