Our snoopydawg Needs Help.
Members,
Our snoopydawg and her pups are in need. With maxed-out credit cards from unexpected occurrences like needing a new transmission for her car, she's difficulty meeting minimum payments, the car's tires are bald and winter has arrived and Charlie Brown's veterinarian bills are mounting.
Charlie Brown
In snoopy's words:
"The transmission on my car went bonkers and needed some expensive work done. The tires are so bald that they won't pass inspection again. Winter is coming and I know that they will not be safe to drive on plus my driveway is very steep and I won't be able to get up it.
From Friday Nights, we know snoopy is a marvelous photographer and there are two ways to assist; make direct contributions to snoopydawg on paypal or by snailmail (PM her for address) or by purchasing her work on her website; presents for the holidays?
Snoopy says "There is still time to order photos and get them before Xmas. If you have friends that like photographs but can't decide which ones that they would like I can do gift cards.
"All photos are available in color or for a nostalgic retro look, sepia or black and white. Calendars are available upon request." You can see all photos and learn more here:

free-range politics, organic community
Organic (according to dictionary.com)
7. characterized by the systematic arrangement of parts; organized; systematic:
Sample: elements fitting together into a unified, organic whole.
JtC's Sample: elements fitting together into a unified 99%, organic whole. An integral part of the c99 "organic whole" is in need. Snoopydawg needs our help. She's given much of herself for us the last few years; essays that regularly make the front page, bountiful comments, her wit, her wisdom. Isn't it time we give some back? I know I am.
I was raised around beagles, that look in Charlie's eyes was all it took for me. Please send Snoopydawg some love, either monetarily or by buying some of her great photography, or both. Hey snoops, give that little Charlie a good ear scritchin' from Ol' Uncle Johnny and all of the good folks here at c99, mkay!
Folks, let's help make snoopydawg and Charlie whole again. 'Tis the season. ~ JtC
Snoopy, my fellow photographer and friend, I hope this effort will be of support for you and your dawgs. I’m sure your circumstances are very difficult, and that you are especially concerned about Charlie’s health. So, if it is possible for anyone, please send snoopy some love and sustenance. ~ janis b
Learning of snoopy's financial distress, i contacted her and asked if i could bring her needs to the c99 community and she gave permission. Thanks to everyone for all you do and for being here.

If I ask for peanuts for rats, I certainly can give
for snoopydawg and her pups. Love your photos. Will order some after Christmas and my 'sausage' donation for Charlie Brown went out a minute ago.
Keep your head above water. I hope it helps a bit to fix the car. No car, no good, stay warm.
Well wishes to you from over here.

I love your home-grown comments!
I had a dog, a rescue, once, which I loved a lot. I even took the dog from DC to HI back and forth, because my son missed her too. I named her Sasha, after Obama's daughter, when she was still cute and chubby. You know it was during the times we still hoped for something. But let's not think about that now. It destroys the athmosphere of the holiday cheers for
Charlie Brown.
I had to give her to a new home when I knew i would have to sell my townhouse in MD. I never forget the look of her eyes she threw at me, when I left her in the car of her new owner. She was the best dog ever. Really. I missed her ever since and still do.
Now I am here in Germany at my sisters house, that is also the house and garden I grew up in. A huge garden. Absolutely perfect to have a dog running around in it. But I am not allowed to have one. Something I really have a hard time to accept.
We had a dog, when I was a child and my mother had allowed to have her two litters. So, we had a three-generational
maddog house over here. It was just perfect. The daughter dog of the first one never got her own personality, because mother dog was over-imposing on her. The grand-daughter dog was a little bit more of her own kind, but still very hush-hush. Her name was therefore Hushy. My mother always kept one of the litter and sold the rest.We got a dog, because my sister was attacked by a dog as a elementary school kid and she got never over her 'Angst' of dogs. My mother's first dog helped my sister to overcome her fears of dogs.
So cheers to my mom and to all dogs and all dog lovers like you.

Thank you snoopy, for all that you offer this community
in so many ways. I will PM you for your address so I can send you something.
I hope we can make you dance
Thanks for you kind words, Janis
Charlie had an urgent vet visit this week because the hair on her tail went poof. I looked at and had no idea what happened. Did she get her tail caught in something?
Nope. Hypothyroidism which means her thyroid wasn't functioning. The level barely registered on the machine. She is on pills now and should be okay with them. And her hair should grow back.

Charlie couldn't have a better friend than you snoopy.
I trust we can help make things easier for you both.
Hey Snoop
Sorry about the rough patch. The first photo under Charlie Brown I did not find on your site. Clues? Thanks and good luck.
A mind that does not detest bad government is foolish.
Yeah, that photo isn't on my website yet
my website needs updated, but the person who manages it for me has had some severe health issues and hasn't been able to do so. Hopefully she will do it next month.
I have been scanning in my photos that were on slides instead of digital. I have quite a few more that are available, but not there.
If anyone is interested in the Yosemite one or the barn one in the group of 4 send me an email with PHOTO as the header and let me know which one you are interested in.

Thanks for all you do here Snoopydawg.

Looks like a painting!
Breathtaking, but makes me cold. The ones just below that one, make me calm, as long as I push out my memory of just how cold mountain water is lol. All of them are absolutely gorgeous!
Hey snoop, how much is a calendar? For some reason, I don't recall knowing you sold those. And how much do you get from the sale of each calendar? If that's too personal, my apologies. I just want to know you actually make some money off them. Otherwise, a straight up gift will be heading your way.
I will have to look for the cost for calendars
and get back to you. It depends on how many photos you want on it or if it's just one.

Just added a bit to the kitty (if I may use that word -- my own
dog would not approve ;-))
Your photos are wonderful. Just have to find some wall space here at the old homestead. I'll be back!

Hey sd,
sorry for the troubles. Can you PM me your address please? I don't do paypal, just a thing for me.
You and Charlie hang in there.
Hey Snoopy
Sorry to hear about Charlie and your transmission trouble. I sent a little something via PayPal. Give the dawgs a scritch for me too!
This shit is bananas.
Thank you, Dar
Really appreciate your help. Missing you in our Friday night photos jam. Hope you are well and just too busy to stop by?

You're most welcome.
We lost one of our outside cats last week; she had been sick for a while and none of the medicines we tried seemed to help. It never gets any easier. just because they're barn cats doesn't make them any less special; they're our babies, all of them. It helps that my mom is a vet, so we take the best care of them we can.
This shit is bananas.

Smiley is on the mountain playing Santa for the kids who are skiing. I can just imagine him doing this.
And thanks JtC and Janis for your kind words here.

was losing my Dixie Doodle Dandy. I will always be grateful.

She had been in pain for a long time
And she had been to the vet many times. Our best treatments for her were actually those we found online for arthritis, etc.
So . . . it was sort of like her time had come. We just tried to love her alot at the end. Unknown how old she was, but maybe 15.
That is just part of having pets. They don't live as long as we do.

your photos are breath-taking;
one more sublime than the next.
when i'd seen this post, i'd started whingeing to mr. wd about how tapped we are, maybe next month after his first cataract surgery and how much his co-pay will be, etc. and he said: 'charge it! t'is the giving season'.
and we do have a paypal account for occasions like this, so a few shekels will be coming your way. and i do mean 'a few'. ; )
yanno many of us say the wolf being constantly at the door? last night and this morning it was coyotes barking and screaming outside the door. brrrrrr.
charlie brown's really your beagle's name? may you both have a good yuletide.
[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jiq_VvgEC1Y]
Thank you, Wendy
Tell Mr wd thanks too and good luck with his cataract surgery. I hope it turns out well for him. Once upon a time I helped make this surgery what it is today when I worked for a brilliant eye surgeon.
Yes I named her Charlie Brown because of two reasons. I have been a Snoopy fan for 50 years and that was why I got a beagle in 1980. They are just like Snoopy too. Stubborn and very mischievous when they are pups. You really need to know what you're getting into with one.
The other reason I named her that was it was what my grandpa called me. "Hiya, Charlie" I'm sure that a lot of you remember Charlie the Tuna? From the tuna fish commercial?

Used to listen to a DJ called Charlie Tuna on Armed Forces Radio
back in the days of separate East and West Germany, the Berlin Wall, and Allied occupation zones.
His trademark sign-off was “Stay Tuna’ed.”
I'm interested in a calender. 12 photos I guess.

Hi, SD! Please check your inbox. Very
sorry to hear about your (and Charlie's) troubles, and hope my small contribution will help out a bit.
(Know all too well how expensive vet care can be!)
Hope you know how much I appreciate the kindness, support, and friendship you've shown me through the years; especially, during 'the B's' various illnesses, and his passing earlier this year.
Also, want to 'thank you' for your tremendous contributions to this Community--as a writer, commenter, and, of course, as a photographer par excellence!
We have an early day, so, will check back for address later this evening.
Take care.
Mollie
Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.
Thank you, Molly
I know that you did all you could for the B and that when there was nothing more to be done you helped ease him of his pain. I once had to let my dawg go on her birthday, but thought that was the greatest gift I could give her. This is the promise we make to our furry friends when we invite them to share our lives isn't it? Hard promise to keep though.

Went to your photography site this morning . . .
Wow. So beautiful. I have never been to that part of the country, so especially enjoyable to travel it through your eyes.
Don't have the funds to purchase any at the moment, but your prices seem reasonable. Maybe a special treat for myself some day.

You can see why I long for the days of yesteryear and want to get back to CA and the coast. The pacific northwest has stunning country that changes from day to day. Bodega bay will always be my favorite spot in Sonoma county with Mammoth lakes second. Both places sang to my soul and I always found peace in those spots when my life had turned upside down.
Let me know which one you are interested in and I think that we can work out a deal. I hope that you get a chance to take the trip up hwy 1 some day. Patrick's point in Eureka is very worth the trip.
