BURR: Do you have any doubt the Russian government was behind the cyber intrusion in the state voter files?

COMEY: No.

Five days earlier, reality Winner was arrested.

… Winner was arrested on June 3, 2017. The U.S. Department of Justice announced her arrest on June 5,[21] shortly after The Intercept published an article describing Russian attempts to interfere with the 2016 presidential election by hacking a U.S. voting software supplier and sending spear-phishing emails to more than 100 local election officials just days before the November 8 election. The Intercept's story was based on a top-secret May 5, 2017, National Security Agency (NSA) document leaked to them anonymously...

Three days before Comey's testimony, The Intercept published the following:

TOP-SECRET NSA REPORT DETAILS RUSSIAN HACKING EFFORT DAYS BEFORE 2016 ELECTION
Matthew Cole, Richard Esposito, Sam Biddle, Ryan Grim
June 5 2017

RUSSIAN MILITARY INTELLIGENCE executed a cyberattack on at least one U.S. voting software supplier and sent spear-phishing emails to more than 100 local election officials just days before last November’s presidential election, according to a highly classified intelligence report obtained by The Intercept.

The top-secret National Security Agency document, which was provided anonymously to The Intercept and independently authenticated, analyzes intelligence very recently acquired by the agency about a months-long Russian intelligence cyber effort against elements of the U.S. election and voting infrastructure. The report, dated May 5, 2017, is the most detailed U.S. government account of Russian interference in the election that has yet come to light.

While the document provides a rare window into the NSA’s understanding of the mechanics of Russian hacking, it does not show the underlying “raw” intelligence on which the analysis is based. A U.S. intelligence officer who declined to be identified cautioned against drawing too big a conclusion from the document because a single analysis is not necessarily definitive

This week, today having been a year since their publishing of the NSA analysis, The Intercept has published two articles soliciting compassion for Reality Winner as a whistleblower,

WHATEVER YOU THINK OF THE TRUMP-RUSSIA INVESTIGATION, WHISTLEBLOWER REALITY WINNER DESERVES YOUR SUPPORT,

and

REALITY WINNER HAS BEEN IN JAIL FOR A YEAR. HER PROSECUTION IS UNFAIR AND UNPRECEDENTED.

The comments to both articles are rich with meaningful debate. I recommend all of it, if only for the strength it takes to maintain focus on what's backed up by evidence and what's hot air from the deep recesses of our clandestine blow hard machine.

But I want to state here that whatever the reality, whether Reality Winner was a dupe or perp, and whether The Intercept was a dupe or a perp, the leaking and publishing of this so-called document is the basis for Comey's testimony above.

Reality (what a name) reveals the ruskies hacked into our elections...but,but,but...

Then the intercept blunders by sending a traceable copy to the NSA for verification?

Then she's thrown under the jail with no bail?

Something just doen't smell right! Seems a set up all the way around.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

But Reality *Winner*! Not in my universe.

said that they weren't. There was no evidence that any votes were changed by Russian hackers or any of the other crap that Brennan, Clapper and Comey have said in the past.

Americans are experiencing the biggest psyops in history IMO. None of the indictments that Mueller has gotten have anything to do with Russia "colluding" with Trump to win the election. Remember that was the original charge, but since then the people who want Trump out of office have come up with so many other charges I can't understand how people can't see what's going on.

I admit that I haven't been following Winners' case much, but to be charging her under the espionage act is ridiculous. Especially after Petrayous got off easy after he gave his girlfriend classified information and committed much worse crimes. His penalties? $100,000 fine and two years probation.

The guy who took pictures of inside his submarine spent a year in prison and he is now suing after Hillary wasn't charged for using her private email server and sending classified information over it. Then there's those 550,000 emails that were found on Anthony Weiner's computer because his wife, Huma Abedin, Hillary's BFF sent them to it. Has Huma been charged for doing that? Hell no....

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

and that I couldn't agree more. (Edit: including with every comment seen on this thread so far, including snoopydawgs excellent points.)

It seems painfully evident going by what we've been told ('Reality Winner' still sounds to me like a CIA label used within another of those completely fictitious stories cropping up of late on both sides of the pond) that a patsy was used both to 'leak' material supporting the disproven official story in an attempt to 'validate' it and is being crushed as an example to prospective whistleblowers.
