@eyo butts. I have celery butts doing the very same thing. Magic.
This works for other veggies; lemongrass, garlic, fennel, scallions, bok choy, cabbage, romaine lettuce, ginger, onion, and pineapple.

not yet decided whether to risk the drive to the mountain as it's going to storm all day and coming home might be difficult with front tires having no traction.

Anyways, my luck to be here and not miss being "On the Road."

“I want to work in revelations, not just spin silly tales for money. I want to fish as deep down as possible into my own subconscious in the belief that once that far down, everyone will understand because they are the same that far down.” ~ Letter to Ed White

"I got all my boyhood in vanilla winter waves around the kitchen stove.

"I have lots of things to teach you now, in case we ever meet, concerning the message that was transmitted to me under a pine tree in North Carolina on a cold winter moonlit night. It said that Nothing Ever Happened, so don’t worry. It’s all like a dream. Everything is ecstasy, inside. We just don’t know it because of our thinking-minds. But in our true blissful essence of mind is known that everything is alright forever and forever and forever. Close your eyes, let your hands and nerve-ends drop, stop breathing for 3 seconds, listen to the silence inside the illusion of the world, and you will remember the lesson you forgot, which was taught in immense milky way soft cloud innumerable worlds long ago and not even at all. It is all one vast awakened thing. I call it the golden eternity. It is perfect. We were never really born, we will never really die. It has nothing to do with the imaginary idea of a personal self, other selves, many selves everywhere: Self is only an idea, a mortal idea. That which passes into everything is one thing. It’s a dream already ended. There’s nothing to be afraid of and nothing to be glad about. I know this from staring at mountains months on end. They never show any expression, they are like empty space. Do you think the emptiness of space will ever crumble away? Mountains will crumble, but the emptiness of space, which is the one universal essence of mind, the vast awakenerhood, empty and awake, will never crumble away because it was never born." ~ Jack Kerouac

Memories from youth sweetly tinge inside me, flakes as large as window's morning snow knowing that i was not alone then... and hopefully, not now.

Cheers to Kerouac for lifting up a generation of seekers and thanks to you, el, for this morning's thread. Have a wonderful day everyone!

clips of Keroac reading Keroac out there on youtube somewhere. You might like: "Poets on the Peaks: Gary Snyder, Philip Whalen & Jack Kerouac in the Cascades [John Suiter] " if you haven't already read it. Have a great day, whatever you decide.

@smiley7 It sounds like a soup day in your neck of the woods. Time to stay inside and make some soup.
We had a 91 degree F. day on Saturday and today our low was 49F. Thank goodness not 91 today.

Here is the original list of demonetized-by-google sites, the last three I added myself. Join the fun why not, add another. Reading wikileaks makes me grouchy as hell, corporate email is so disgusting, extra sauce for spewing forth from the "highest" levels of U.S. government. Same same.

that Clara Fraser. Wikipedia just has a bit about her but this caught my eye;

A clampdown on internal party democracy brought this effort to a dead end. Fraser co-authored the branch’s critique of the SWP’s political and organizational degeneration in a series of documents that have been re-published under the title Crisis and Leadership (Seattle: Red Letter Press, 2000).

Without going into too much detail, that section from Wikipedia was just explaining what happened to an organization that Fraser was a part of. Some things never change, whether it's small organizations trying to make things better, or countries attempting that incredible feat. Always the clampdown on real democracy.

@randtntx
non-famous people and their interesting lives and activities. Meanwhile we re constantly bombarded with the same stale tales of the same well known and largely mythic heroes and celebs. Ah well ...

Thanks for the clash.

@enhydra lutris that many of todays celebs don't deserve their celebrity. Most seem to be just plain awful people, foisted upon us by the corporate media. It's strange that we lionize those types. I think we should ignore them and everybody should make their own, better, list of celebs, like eyo's list of the better news sites.

Thanks for your lists, music and all, esp. L. Minnelli.

"fortune -o" why not. YOLO

Arrived home after a 10 day trip yesterday. The rain gauge held 4" that fell since we left. Spring has sprung, but some high 20's due this week. I hope to get to the wildflower pocket on Pigeon Mt sometime this week...

@Lookout
all week, but none yet today. Good luck with the wildflowers. We're ramping up for our annual desert run in Early April. About 3 weeks out into and down thru the desert and then over to and backup along the coast. We usually get some wildflowers on that trip.

Went to the gastro doc as follow-up to my ulcers. Still painful (3/10 scale). Next month get a repeat endoscopy as things have settled down. Also the Other End. Been a decade. At least I'll be vacant. There is now a blood test for liver damage. Go to hospital tomorrow or so to have blood work. My first visit with no copay, ever.

I saw my first buzzard this year. Displaying wings. Damn cool. A biker clued me in. So the birds return.
