@joe shikspack
It takes a certain stillness to capture one in the perfect place at the tip of leaf.

A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.

It hard to produce texture and modeling in red. It must have something to do with the length of the light waves. The color of the light looks like New England.

Have a great weekend, joe.

@Pluto's Republic

Red is a very difficult color to photograph It['s] hard to produce texture and modeling in red. It must have something to do with the length of the light waves.

That's exactly it. The shorter the wavelength -- the "bluer" the light -- the more detail the light can reveal. Radio waves kinda suck at small details; we can see distant stars with radio, but you need visible/ultraviolet/X/gamma radiation to discern planets. And with visible, you're more likely to see a planet-sized body with blue light than red. It is exactly the same here on Earth.

Can anyone give me a short "idiots guide" to posting pics? I can't seem to figure this out.

Thanks.

Can anyone give me a short "idiots guide" to posting pics? I can't seem to figure this out.

There's a button on the Posting toolbar (both Essays and Comments), the leftmost button. Click that button and a dialog box will come up. If your pic already has a URL address, i.e., it's in an online stash somewhere, you're essentially home at this point. Just put the URL of your pic in the space provided, supply resolution figures if you've got 'em, and click "OK".

If your pic file is local to your machine, click the "Browse" button next to the URL field. Another dialog box will open called "File Browser". In the top edge of this dialog there's a button labeled "Upload". Click it, follow the prompts, and after you've uploaded your image file the File Browser dialog should show the same file selected. Click the "Send To Editor" button, which will bring you back to the first dialog box. Supply any missing info you may have and click "OK".

Did that help??

cataract exam! I removed the left lens from my glasses, and my eye is viewing the world unassisted. Not great clarity, but according to the drs., it should improve by the day until I reach 20/20 at near, intermediate, and distance.
There is no guarantee I will not require glasses. Nevertheless, I chose the procedures that give the best chance of not requiring them, if all goes perfectly.
I still have the right eye to go, but I am half the way to the goal post.
It is stifling hot outdoors. I need a waiding pool or something.

@Arrow

I accomplished that by going to the address you linked; right clicking the picture, selecting "Copy Image Location", and pasting said location into the Insert/Edit Image dialog box for "Image URL".

I am a Firefox user.
