Bait, switch and snitch; Obama's failed entrapment of Trump Jr.

There's an old saying: "the deeper you dig in a sewer, the more shit you come up with". So it has been a really interesting unravelling of the deep hatred of Clinton/Obama for Trump--no secret at all. Resist! Resist what? If the current Democrats couldn't engage in dirty politics, they couldn't engage in politics at all; although it may reasonably be argued, that Dems haven't engaged in politics for decades, if by engagement one means presenting political aspirations loftier than "have you seen the other guy"

Without burying the reader with dozens of citations, as in my last 3 essays, nor with pictures (alligators are good with pictures but don't read so well), I will present a tale of intrigue and skullduggery matching anything Nicolo Machiavelli could have dreamed about.

Setting the Wayback machine to mid 2016, we arrive at a time when Seth Rich sends Wikileaks lots of DNC dirt (approx. May, maybe earlier also). At the same time, the Ice Queen is getting pounded by an unkempt, unknown Senator from a state most people couldn't identify on a map. Trickles of doubt seep into the reptilian mind of Medusa and Her mentor, the half-black, all bad Hawaiian empty suit (inflated only by the hot air of promises never intended to be kept). More ammunition was seen to be necessary to ensure Her majesty's ascendency to the throne (you know, the one she couldn't drag out of the WH when Bubba's terms ended).

Hence is born the big lie in late June, actually pre-Dem convention, about Russia. Soon after, as it was apparent that an orange-headed rogue beat the rest of the Klowns in the RNC Klown Kar, the myth was amended to the more specific Trump-Russia meme. And so, like Wrong Way Corrigan (look it up) the Dims took this oblate piece of crap and ran with it--they ran so hard that the constituents of the piece started to fall off onto them, staining their $1000 shoes (redolent, too).

But in the scheme of things, this ploy was not deemed sufficient, although useful, to defeat the Nemesis. Hence, meme was reinforced with some good old spying (euphemistically known as opposition besmirch research).

Besides peeping in windows, which is hard to do on the top storeys of the Trump Tower, there exists electronic eavesdropping, inartfully called "wire-tapping" by the technologically-challenged denizen of Trump Tower's namesake. So yes, electronic eavesdropping, sans wires, was utilized by the Empty Suit (BHO) to gain knowledge of the opponent, hopefully something very damaging. But wait! Why just wait for something damaging? Why not help the story along?

By this time, July, 2016, the press is in a Russian feeding frenzy. Let's throw the Lame Stream Media some Russian meat. Here comes the grand plan to which the essay title refers.

Bait

Natalia Veselnitskaya (NV), a Russian attorney, having no connection to the Russian Government. That didn't matter; she is Russian, so good enough. There is some controversy as to whether her involvement was voluntary, in the sense of agreeing with the plot or simply being deceived like Trump Jr. was.

Switch

Since pols love opposition research, a British cutout named Goldstone, who may have had no actual knowledge of the covert purposes of the plot, arranged NV to meet with Trump Jr. at Trump Tower. The pretense, contrived by Podesta, Obama, Lynch and the Mad Bomber was that NV had valuable derogatory information about HRC collected by Russia, which she would give to Trump Jr. NV doesn't speak English. Trump Jr. doesn't speak Russian. Translation was needed; this leads to a juicy subplot, to be described below.

Essential information: the Magnitsky act. The critical part as concerns the bait is:

In June 2012, the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs reported to the House a bill called the Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act of 2012 (H.R. 4405).[3] The main intention of the law was to punish Russian officials who were thought to be responsible for the death of Sergei Magnitsky by prohibiting their entrance to the United States and their use of its banking system.[4]...

In response to the adoption of the Magnitsky Act, the Russian government denied Americans adoption of Russian children, issued a list of US officials prohibited from entering Russia, and posthumously convicted Magnitsky as guilty.[16] In addition, the Russian government reportedly lobbied against the legislation acting through a public relations company led by Kenneth Duberstein.[17][18]

Ban on U.S. adoption of Russian children[edit]
On December 19, 2012, the State Duma voted 400 to 4 to ban the international adoption of Russian children into the United States. The bill was unofficially named after Dmitri Yakovlev (Chase Harrison), a Russian toddler who died in 2008 of heat stroke after neglect from his adoptive American father

Many Russians, Americans, and even Vladimir Putin were against the Act. One of the issues Putin disliked in the bill besides other sanctions included, like the majority of American objectors, were prohibition of adoption of Russian children by Americans.

This is where NV may come in. Most likely she was an innocent dupe of the chief US plotters, although some speculation exists that she was in on the scam. No matter. Her real passion was to promote restatement of American adoption of Russian children.

Some background on NV is in order: she had applied for a visa but was denied. But through the interdiction of Lyin' Loretta, with the aid of BHO, NV was given an exemption allowing her to visit the US. The covert justification is immediately apparent.

Donald Jr. most likely couldn't care less about this. He came to the meeting to see what dirt NV had for him on HRC's evil deeds (as if there wasn't enough home-grown Medusa collusion, fraud, treason, etc.)

The meeting actually lasted about 4 and a half minutes. As soon as Trump Jr. found there was no dirt to be collected and this was only about adoption, he left the meeting. He neither promised anything nor encouraged her to return with the real stuff. End of story. Right? Not exactly.

Snitch

So Trump Jr. got nothing and neither did the Klinton Cabal. But now we look at the means by which this information of hoped for Trump-Russia collusion was to be obtained--the Snitch. Obama already had electronic surveillance in place in the Trump Tower but he couldn't legally record it without a FISA warrant. Enter Lying Loretta Lynch, former attorney general and cover-up specialist. She attempted to obtain a FISA warrant to monitor the Trump Jr. conversation. Amazingly, this failed! FISA judges reject only about 1% of government requests for warrants. So being inventive DemonRATs, they changed the request to monitor Paul Manafort, at that time Trump's campaign manager, due to his already known association with Russian companies. Lynch / FISA scam. This time the FISA warrant was accepted. The real target here was primarily Trump Jr., whose meeting took place in Trump Tower where Manafort also worked.

Trump Jr.'s identity was unmasked by LLL, illegally for purely political purposes, to see what damning evidence she and fellow conspirators could find. Alas, none to be found. But she or her minions unmasked Trump Jr. when allegedly the target of the FISA warrant was Manafort.

More nefarious plotting to aid the entrapment involved the translator for the meeting, provided for by the Meridian Corporation. [This video by Tracy Beanz, an up-and-comer in YouTube land is 18:58 long but contains lots of details, which you may find interesting]. Meridian Corporation had close working relationship with Clinton's DOS, doing various things as well as providing some translators for official functions. It was one of Meridian's translators who was present at the Trump Jr. - NV meeting.

There a few side-branches of this story, upon which I will briefly comment.

First: the scorecard:

The middle row we may forget at this time, though some interesting but minor facets emerge about them.

Top row: Comey and McCabe are corrupt FBI people--Comey out; McCabe won't probably be around long after Wray takes over. Chris (rhymes with Piss) Steele, ex-MI6 operative, who designed the infamous "Trump dossier". Steele then turned over the dossier to Fusion GPS, whom apparently commissioned this. Glenn Simpson, one of the Fusion principals, declined an invitation to testify before Congress about Fusion GPS's role in the dossier and other unsavory HRC-related deeds.

This whole scenario of "Trump Jr. colludes with Russia" scam has unravelled faster than a ball of yarn given to a bored kitty. But the MSM is still pushing it, even though by now they should have had an "oops" moment, realizing the illegal scheme is now visible even on some main stream sites.

As I am not an attorney, my compilation of felonies involved here is undoubtedly incomplete. Felonious obtaining of a FISA Warrant, violation of section 702 of the FISA surveillance authorization (unmasking), perjury, attempted entrapment, involvement of a foreign national in American Internal affairs.

Democrats: too dumb to change
too stupid to know they're dumb.

She has shot up and become the most watched tv personality in the mainstream media because of her breathless coverage of this Russian scam. It only took $30,000 a day for her to sell out her principles.

This is a great article about how Crowdstrike manipulated the data of the DNC 'hack' and who is connected to it. As usual, when something stinks, the Clintons are in the area.
There are links to other articles about Crowdstrike's connections to a Ukrainian billionaire and his anti Russian views.
This information should be on the top of every news page in a sane world, but we don't live in one.
Let's not forget that a person from CNN said that this Russian propaganda is good for ratings.

"Something Stinks Here" - CrowdStrike Revises, Retracts Parts Of Explosive Russian Hacking Report

Here’s the problem. Yes, the FBI has agreed with CrowdStrike’s conclusion, but the FBI did not analyze the DNC servers because the DNC specifically denied the FBI access. This was noteworthy in its own right, but it takes on vastly increased significance given the serious errors in a related hacking report produced by the company.

As such, serious questions need to be asked. Why did FBI head James Comey outsource his job to CrowdStrike, and why did he heap praise on the company? For instance, back in January, Comey referred to CrowdStrike as a “highly respected private company.”

A very good question, indeed!

@Pricknick I do look in on ToP to see what they are writing about and that's where I found out that Rachel has the number one media tv show. Yes this was backed up by the link provided.
Yes I click on the diaries there and read them as well as the comments. Some days it's very entertaining. The echo chamber
And just because I don't agree with most of what they are writing about, I have good friends there are other diaries I participate in, but they don't have anything to do with the Russian BS.

@snoopydawg I agree with you, snoopydawg.

I firmly believe it is helpful to get our information from a wide range of sources, including those that we may not always agree with. If we are using our critical thinking skills, we can sort through it all to eliminate the crap from what has value. JMHO.

@gulfgal98 I have been wondering where you have been.
Hopefully you recently got back from a grand adventure?

Unfortunately, most of the diaries there are about the new smoking gun that is going to bring down the Trump administration and then Her will be installed and rainbows and unicorns will rain down on all of us.

However, there are some good diaries on health care and other important issues there. If they can stay on the wreck list long enough for people to rec them.

@snoopydawg I am always scarce during July. No new adventures, but I am a big fan of the Tour de France and spend several hours a day watching each stage and then writing two blogs about it. It is my once year addiction/escape from reality. LOL So my time here has been limited for commentary although I try to read every essay so I can post them on our Twitter account. Thank you for your always kind thoughts. Smile

@snoopydawg was something I was terrible at, even when I was young and an athlete. Being a spectator and marveling at the courage and athleticism of these cyclists is now what I enjoy and it is amazing. I have followed this since the 1980s and even through the years of the doping scandals (not good nor as fun as now).

It is actually more fun to watch now because there are no (or very few) super human efforts on the part of the riders which means tactics are more important and that makes it far more interesting to watch.

If you can still ride and enjoy it, I hope you can find a nice mountain bike. I now walk instead because I cannot ride due of an inner ear problem (my excuse), plus I sucked at it anyway. Wink

Madcow and MSLSD have with Russia-gate, doubling down on the take most peoople have that Trump Must be involved in this up to his eyebrows? Except ratings. And that they continue with this So-obviously-bogus story for the same reason DWS, her DNC and "the party" continue to tell it: it gives them the Number One reason for HRC's Nov. spanking, while drawing attention away from them - the DNC / "party" - as the main culprits (besides HRC herself) for Hillary's Nov. comeuppance. Wasn't us! Nosireebob! It was Trump and the Russians! They stole it! Hey, whatever helps you sleep at night.
But, bogus or not, DWS & Co. accomplished what they intended. Most believe Trump is guilty, that Hillary was hosed and Should be president. It's nice to know that their story is hores$h!t, but they still win. And, becuz of that Hillary still has world stage cred. bitch.

The important part of this story for me has zero to do with Trump or Trump Jr and everything to do with the Obama admin's trashing of our Constitutional rights. I am shocked that no one in Congress is really following up on the abuse of the FISA court by Obama and his appointees. And yes, I am willing to bet that Obama knew, just like he knew about CLinton's private server and her illegal use of it to funnel State Dept. business through the Foundation in return for donations to said Foundation.

From what I have read, Wray may not be much of an improvement over Comey and McCabe.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. All of this stuff is very much inter related.

@gulfgal98 Obama-Clinton desired consequences: get so much blackmail on Trump & Co. to destroy him.

Undesired consequences:
1. Caught in the act of multiple wrong-doing
2. Weakening Democratic legitimacy, already a vapor trail
3. Increasing sympathy for Trump by those who don't hate him.

If there was a single-tier justice system, Obama as well as Clinton would be in jail now for just this last botched scheme, in addition to many others.

To quote Jackson Browne, Dems have been "running on empty" for so long they may cease to exist in 3 years--especially if Bernie says he's going to agree joining the movement to draft him for 2020. Not a single Democrat can answer "what do you stand for?" Instead they prattle about "values".

Contrary to many #NeverTrumpers, although many people may not like Trump (such as me), most do not hate him. When the citizenry sees the concerted and overtly bogus plots against him in the MSM, many may be willing to give him more leeway than otherwise. Since there is no countervailing "moral authority" or perhaps "loyal opposition", essentially his horrible legislative program will continue unchecked.

@Alligator Ed At this point, as odious as Trump is, I find him preferable to Pence who scares the bejeebers out of me. I would rather try to soldier on with Trump right now. That may change in the future, but I have a hard time thinking that Pence would be better or even the slimy Paul Ryan.

@gulfgal98 if they get their wish and Trump is removed from office, they will be stuck with Pence. I agree that he is far more scarier than Donald.

His Christian extremists views will shape his thought processes and the legislation he will try to pass will be bad for this country.

Look at the legislation he passed when he was governor of his state.

@snoopydawg and that's why I keep ringing the alarm for President Pence.

Locally, many around here were pleased to see him as VP nominee because they assumed Trump was going to lose and that would be that. I always felt that was extremely dangerous, even if that ticket lost, just to elevate him to the national level. Trump is incompetent and uncouth but Pence is calculating and able to pass for an adult. Hillbots seem to forget that if they impeach Tump we don't get Her.

that I've been obsessing over: how did Her get Melania Trump to recite that Michele Obama speech at the Republican convention? (I consider this a pretty awesome hack.)

I'll bet the electronic eavesdropping you mentioned revealed the identity of Melania's ghostwriter to the Her campaign. The ghostwriter was then bribed to insert that forgettable pablum into Melania's speech. It was so generic that, of course, the Trump campaign didn't recognize it. But a couple of days later, an unemployed newspaper reporter in Colorado (with a fat new wad of cash most likely) suddenly remembered Michele Obama reciting the exact same glittering generalities. Mission Accomplished!

DOJ let Russian lawyer into US before she met with Trump team

The Russian lawyer who penetrated Donald Trump’s inner circle was initially cleared into the United States by the Justice Department under “extraordinary circumstances” before she embarked on a lobbying campaign last year that ensnared the president’s eldest son, members of Congress, journalists and State Department officials, according to court and Justice Department documents and interviews.

This revelation means it was the Obama Justice Department that enabled the newest and most intriguing figure in the Russia-Trump investigation to enter the country without a visa.

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/341788-exclusive-doj-let-russ...

If you look at The Hill article, it appears that she met with every elected official in DC.

This article goes well with the fact that the Obama justice department tried to get a FISA warrant to eavesdrop on Trump by wiretapping his phones while he was in his residence located in his Trump tower apartment.
The Herbots are saying that the Trump/Russia connections are as big as watergate. Does Obama's role in this story mean that he is 'Nixon'? Smile

From the link that you provided:

it was the Obama Justice Department that enabled the newest and most intriguing figure in the Russia-Trump investigation to enter the country without a visa.

And Veselnitskaya also attended a dinner with the chairman of the House subcommittee overseeing Russia policy, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) and roughly 20 other guests at a dinner club frequented by Republicans.

She lulled Don Jr. Into meeting her by stating that she had dirt on Hillary, but that was to get him to buy the bait that she had dirt on Hillary. Instead, she was meeting with him to get the legislation against Russian oligarchs reversed. Is this an attempt for and would Obama be complicit in it?
