Friday Night Photos. Almost a triple.

I have a few pictures of single and double rainbows. Most show the spectrum of colors within each rainbow. This is an oddball for heavy contrast and lack of distinct colors. Why this picture came about is truly the fun.
Can you see how it came about?
Clue 1: Look at the fields and grass below.

Clue 2: Look for the aura in the sky.

Happy clicking shutterbugs.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

@Socialprogressive ,
so much to learn.
Micro is my current fascination. Or as some would say "close up to small shit."
Thanks for the fly.

These pictures were taken with my phone camera. I'm going to start taking my smaller camera on my nightly walks. I wish I had brought it tonight because the sunset and clouds were amazing.
I took a few photos anyway and hopefully some of the pictures will be okay.

This is the tree that I have been photographing during my walks at the cemetery.

These little guys are called 'peeps'. No, really! Isn't that just the most adorable thing?? (Lifers!)

We went back to see the young blue herons on the electric tower; there were at least a dozen of them up there.

@Daenerys were these taken at the pond by your house?
Love the photo of the herons. Do you print and frame your pictures?

I changed that picture to b&w and it looks way cool.

When are you moving? Is your offer for guests still open? Smile

@snoopydawg @snoopydawg The herons are at Lee Kay ponds; the rest were taken at Decker Lake. I have not printed or framed any of my photos, yet. Frames can be expensive; if I get a photo that I really like I might frame it some time. I just do this for fun though, not trying to sell any of my photos.

I'd have to run it by my mom, but as it is right now there isn't extra room in the house. Hubby and I are going to try to clean up the house, but that's why I was thinking tent city type thing. Although that wouldn't work very well in the winter months. We're moving the middle of August.

your pictures of the Blue Herons haunt me.
I'd much rather see them nesting on a river.
But it's a good haunt. Thankz for the pics.

@Pricknick As I mentioned before, there aren't a lot of big trees here for them to nest in, so they use the next best things. It appears that they had successful broods up there on the tower. Think of how successful peregrine falcons have been nesting on tall buildings in cities. As Ian Malcolm would say, "life finds a way".

Is there a reason for why you are moving? I'm sure that living here is a bit of a cultural shock, but I enjoy the scenery and the seasons. I lived in the Central Valley of California and by the 3rd year I was tired of it being 110 degrees at the end of October at 6 pm. I wish that I could have afforded to live in mill valley which is across the bat from San Francisco. The weather there was perfect.
I had a doctor who worked in MV and after my appointments I would explore the area.
This waterfall is in the middle of the town.

Big Lots have a great assortment of frames for as low as $4. I have a lot of frames from there that are waiting for pictures. They have 3x5 to 11x14 frames. Mpix prices for prints are pretty low.

I use it to print my photos when people buy them from my website.
Shipping is higher than the pictures.
I'm waiting for another big sale to order one for myself.
I have a frame for a 20-30 print.
I also have a professional mat cutter and can cut my own mats.

@snoopydawg Not the least of which is the high cost of living here. It's a lot easier to be poor in MN. We were going to stay until hubby has his Bachelor's degree, but we decided we've had enough. We're tired of almost getting in accidents every time we go somewhere with all the terrible drivers. (I've had coworkers from Florida who both said drivers here are worse! My newest coworker [my replacement really, if she stays on], her mother got a good job here at the U but decided to move back to FL after two years.) Our apartment is OK, but they aren't very good about fixing things and we got bedbugs a while ago from another unit. You can get a halfway decent 2-bedroom apartment where I lived in MN for $800/month. (Unfortunately pet rent seems to be becoming a thing there as well. >_

@Pricknick we have an osprey nest in Cloverdale, it is pretty well known 'cause you can see it plainly going north on the 101. I searched for "Cloverdale osprey nest: and found this site: http://www.aplic.org/Nests.php they have a photo:
