Friday Night Photography Feb. 3, 2017

Good evening photography lovers and appreciators.
I’ve driven by this scene for many years, but only stopped to photograph it a few days ago. It’s a very fanciful set-up, installed to attract attention to an interesting curio shop. My guess is that a couple thousand people in cars pass by it every day in West Auckland. I often wonder what they make of it. It’s quite arresting - a bit of a spoof - and welcome entertainment while subject to the mundanity of driving.
Post any photos, fancifully funny or solemnly serious … anything goes … as long as you enjoy.

(No subject) ... sorry, messed up with publishing the POT
It's there now.
Hey Janis!
Is that an NZ squad car?
(Edited: Just noticed the flag, so that would be a 'no'. Interesting driveway.)
Anyway, before I have to shuffle off...
Fiddling with sepia (once again).
Old mirror..
And this just in from The Tribble Telescope:
An astronomical shot.....
Planet Splurge and its orbiting blob moons made of pure Angst.

Thanks for the fascinating photos. The flower photo looks very prayerful. Does the photo include both the indoors and the outdoors? Are silver and angst related?
That's an old American police car, parked alongside the threatening American policeman with his hand on his gun. Police here don't carry guns.
Janis...
Silver and angst both share 'ag'

You're right.
I wonder if they share other properties, like ...
; ).
Angst, much like Silver
tends to tarnish, and its powers are reduced. Especially, if you pour pale ale on it.
A very odd quasi-element.

Whatever works, is as good as gold.
Enjoy!
Bollox - Stunning
Really love everything about the sepia photo. Subtle. The composition. The colors. Nice.

I've no idea what plant it is. It just sits at the front window.

@Bollox Ref
Looks like a CA car to me.

You're right!
I think the uniform is a bit dated
But maybe he's a motorcycle cop.

I think I'll inquire within the curio shop about
the scene. The leather pants and helmet do suggest he's a motorcycle cop. I hadn't thought of that, even after seeing it many times.
(edited to include helmet). Even when I think I'm looking closely, I miss the obvious!

Hi magiamma.
I would love to have sat under that tree at that moment. It looks so alive and magical.
The CA initiative is a great one.
@janis b
It is so inviting. And at the end of a long hike. It stands by a small stream with a bed of green. I so wanted to come back and draw the trunk.

Back from doing some shuffling around...
The tree shot (a Beech?) looks like a described image of Frodo's early wanderings around The Shire.

The tree is a California Peppertree,
Schinus molle. You can pick the fruit and dry it to use as peppercorns. In the spring the peppercorns are pink.

I love the tree photo with the path by it

I'm great at multi-tasking. I can waste time, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at the same time.
Hi socialprogressive.
Nice to see you and your friends.
The contrast between the totally relaxed panda and the wild red-headed monkey is priceless. Thanks!
Are we eating the tail of the other lion
or is it just the way it looks. Very playful photos today.

Magia that photo isn't Abby's shadow
I only put her picture in to show that this puddle or whatever looked like her.
I should have explained that better

Thank you Janis
The red head is not a monkey, but an Orangutan, a member of the ape family.
Edit: I hit the blue reply button. Why did this end up as a new comment?

I guess I should have known, by the orange hair
it was an orangutan. Thanks!
