So where is the nearest "We hate Trump because he's not a (D)"
protest?
I await the opportunity to take my selfie next to the sea of signs saying "keep the sequester," "pass the TPP," "drone more Yemenis," "fight Russia," "prosecute whistleblowers," and "Goldman Sachs doesn't deserve an (R) President" (among other things)...
I will be thoroughly enjoying the mass outrage at the possibility that President Donald Trump, who hasn't done anything yet, will repeal our right to buy insurance at $2200/ year which we can't afford to use and which we're mostly buying to avoid an also-expensive mandate penalty. But I'll probably be enjoying it from the safety of my own home. This is like "Torches of Freedom" or something like that.
Oh and check out this expression of white-hot rage. It expresses all you need to know about politics: (D) good, (R) bad, and the far left? Fkn retarded.

Sure Booker spoke out against Sessions. That's a no brainer, but that didn't hurt any of his donors or the elite class.
There's the difference.
Here it is again, the put down of the people who consider themselves leftist progressives. In my opinion, the people who consider themselves that are against the illegal wars, the things that Cass wrote above and letting bank CEOs escape prosecution after they committed deliberate fraud that caused unimaginable pain and suffering to millions of people all over the world when they lost their homes, probably most of their possessions and pensions that they needed to live on after working and paying into them for many years. Or decide that those same people's banks should be given up to $16 trillion fucking dollars while the people who lost their homes had to jump through hoops while trying to save their homes while those CEOs were telling their employees to screw them anyway.
True leftist progressives feel that people who live in countries that have the resources that the corporations want are just as entitled to their lives as they are.
People who think that the obama administration was scandal free are being willfully blind to what he did to people in this country with his economic cowardness and what he did to the people in the Middle East, Honduras, Ukraine and Africa.
So basically this douche bag is upset because I and others who thought that what Bill, Barry, Hillary and most democrats were neoliberal or neoneoconserevatives didn't vote for Hillary because she was going to continue to do the same things as Bill and Barry did.
Tuff. I have a conscience and it wouldn't let me vote for Hillary. I'm also proud to call myself far left.

Yeah, I'll probably go to a protest in my town.
Not because he's not a D, but because he won't be representing the 99%.
I suspect in a parallel world, I would be protesting Hillary as much as Trump over the next four years.
Trump's cabinet choices do not give me the confidence that I should just stay at home and shrug my shoulders.
Over at TOP there's white-hot rage aplenty,
but it's focused entirely on Donald Trump now. They're working themselves up into a frenzy about it. Most of which is utterly devoid of introspection. Half the time they don't even know what they're so pissed off about. It's mostly a kind of inchoate fear mixed with resentful hostility. Could be they're against racism, or against Russia, or against sexism, or against the deplorables, or who knows what. But whatever it is they think Trump stands for, they're against it -- and they mean to make that fact known. Well whoop-de-do.
Me I will be hiding behind, or under if needs be, my desk. I want no part of this belligerent crowd. Nor do I want any part of the current neolib/neocon Deep State that eggs them on... all unawares as they seem to be, that such a bipartisan alliance even exists. They didn't get their gal elected, so to hell with an orderly transition of power. They don't like Trump or what he stands for, therefore he doesn't deserve to be president. So let's all us liberals screech and yowl and throw eggs at him. It's a great occasion for blowing off steam. Because the Center is right and the Right is wrong, as every faithful tv viewer has been instructed to believe. Never mind who owns the tv shows. As for the Left... well, the Left has abandoned the field of battle. Skedaddled more or less, or else been drowned out, so no need to worry about them.

white hot rage aplenty
Rather than the folks it should be focused on: the DLC types (and their gazillionaire masters) who foisted Her Heinous on us rather than the Dem candidate who could have and would have mopped the floor with The Chump. Yes, that's typical TOP.
"Drowned out" is most accurate. We did not "skedaddle"; we were erased. Ginormous rallies for Sanders were categorically ignored while lackluster events supporting Her Heinous got hour after hour of traditional media coverage.
And we of the hard Left are still here, we're still queer, and we're still not going any fucking where. Regardless of what that sellout Sammy Leonard might "think".

It was Clinton 2016 and the DNC who instructed the media to participate in the "Pied Piper" strategy of "elevating" Trump's campaign, because he supposedly would represent a cakewalk for Hillary right to the White House. So the corporate press gave Trump more earned media than I have ever seen a candidate receive. Like a multimillion-dollar in-kind donation.
In campaign terms, this is roughly like standing over a blazing fire and pumping pure oxygen at it for several hours.

I'm sorry you don't find it wrong the endless slaughter of innocent civilians done by Democrats or Republicans...guess I'm a Purist (tm)
I'm sorry you don't find our toxic capitalist system oppressing and depriving millions upon millions in this country of resources they need to survive... guess I'm a Purist (tm)
I'm sorry you don't find the continual destruction of our environment a massive problem, and continually push forward things such as fracking... guess I'm a Purist (tm)
I mean hell let's go farther. Why vote Democrat at all according to those who whine about Purity? I mean, imagine saying you're voting for a Republican instead and they go off on their rant...couldn't you just then say "hey stop being a purist, you have to compromise". Why vote Democrat at all then if you have no values to begin with? If your values are so utterly negotiable why the fuck do you care how someone else votes? Definitely the top of my list of things I hated about this election cycle.

With the gop congress and potus we will have ringside
seats at the dismantling of what remains of the american new deal. Obama was no FDR, that doesn't mean Trump is.
It's a great shame and a great and tangible loss, as we watch congress line up the policy and legislation required to make this monstrous change that will enable their buddies to steal public assets as the gubmint welshes on the ss trustfund bonds (recall, that's trump's schtick, renegotiating the terms of his debt, was one of his campaign promises). It's also true it would have been forestalled for a while had her been elected.
The reality is the democrats ran a crap candidate who pulled out a popular win against a republican crap candidate who unexpectedly pulled out the EC win. What more does anyone need to see before it dawns on them that our democracy had already been lost before these crap candidates were paraded out in front of us voters to choose between? How is it that neither major party could find a candidate who was genuinely fit to be potus? But with the installation of the gotp in the congress and the executive, tptb can rest and enjoy the show in lieu of the necessity of showing their hands as they had to do while Obama was potus.
I've written before that in 2007-8 I was a Hillbot, but in 2016 rejected her, as I rejected the dynastic ambitions of the Bush-Clinton cabal. Today, as I grieve the likely loss of what remains of the new deal (meaning, social security for the disabled and the elderly, medicare and medicaid healthcare programs and access to healthcare, public education, environmental protections, reproductive rights, minoritys' right not to be assaulted and/or killed for the amusement of the majority, and worker protections) I am none-the-less grateful that her is not being inaugurated.
Now we all get to watch as the gotp congress installs a new dystopian nightmarish life for workers: they will show us just how nasty and brutish and (blessedly) short modern life can be.
But I disagree with your fundamental premise. imo it's appropriate to protest this turn of events. It's appropriate for people to finally make a stand against tptb, and against the rape-bully-kill-n-steal culture represented by the gop, as well as against the tacit complicity to that culture represented by the feckless dems. I'll join the local protest tomorrow.

The problem is--I don't believe that that's what these protests are about. I'd be curious, if a study were done, how many people at these protests would explain that they were here to protest the powers that be and both the parties that work for them. My fear
is that the corporate Democrats will manage to find another pool of R-lites to lose elections across the country in 2018, thus ensuring an ultra-right drift of the US for the next decade or two. But Debbie Wasserman Schultz will remain.
FSC has stated that she supports Bowles-Simpson's
proposal for a Grand Bargain in speeches to Goldman Sachs, and on at least one college campus (that I know of).
As Republican Senator Rob Portman stated (at one of Pete Peterson's annual shindigs) about three years ago--85% of the B-S proposal has been passed piecemeal.
Bear in mind, Medicare has constantly undergone 'changes' which cost shift to the beneficiaries, a fact which we dutifully noted at EB. The only proposals which have not been enacted, are the radical cuts to Social Security, which were recommended in "The Moment Of Truth."
Don't forget, cuts to couples' Social Security benefits were passed in the Democratic-controlled Lame Duck Session in 2015--with majority Democratic Party vote, signed by a Dem President. We (my spouse and I) are not happy camper's--we'll eventually be affected by a loss [projected by experts] of between $50,000 and $60,000 dollars over our lifetime, as will millions of other American couples.
During the campaign, FSC basically spouted empty and vague platitudes--nothing more.

And, numerous articles are already speaking of 'O's' role in restructuring/rebuilding the DNC, which points to the fact that the Party will veer sharply to the right, not the left. (IMO)

Sunspots, totally agree. Under WJC, the BLS
implemented a geometric mean formula into the CPI--which lowered the benefits of all federal transfer programs (Social Security, SSI, etc.) by approximately 2%.
Of course, 'O's' so-called Grand Bargain would have lowered the CPI by an additional 3%.
I not only expect Democrats to work with Repubs to accomplish this (cuts, via a new CPI formula), I believe that the corporatist Dems/conservadems will also push for the deepest cuts--such as, cutting the PIA of Social Security beneficiaries--which will greatly reduce their monthly stipend, raising the eligibility age, etc.
Personally, I'm not willing to give any politician a pass, when it comes to slashing (what's left of) our Social Safety Net.

Wall-to-wall Democrats, newly possessed of the clairvoyance that allows them to see the world for the next four years with an accuracy that would stun America's leading psychics, have decided to march, arm-in-arm, down the streets of Washington DC shouting: "We want the TPP! Protesting that a republican beat another republican?
Politico revealed Hillary's choices for her cabinet if she were to be elected. Just a bunch of neoliberal free market corporatists.
When the first protests started right after results were known, puzzled me at least as to why the protesters were aggrieved that one republican beat another. After the Wikileaks revelations like her wanting Wall Street to regulate Wall Street, how could any first call her a centrist, and secondly a democrat.

$2,200 per annum??! Where did THAT come from?
I am the proud owner of a (pretty significant) pre-existing condition. With Obamacare, now that the Repugs have eliminated the Obamacare provision for State co-ops in my home state - Colorado - I pay about $800 PER MONTH (~ $10,000 per annum) for INSURANCE (NOT healthcare) coverage - coverage which provides me with a $5,000 deductible, PER ANNUM. What this means in real life is that on an annual basis, I will pay out $15,000 prior to receiving any but the most basic healthcare (e.g., "wellness checkups") at all. In the event that I suffer a major "incident", or recurrence of the "pre-existing condition", suicide looks like the best option to salvage remaining family members from financial destruction.
Which insurance bottom-feeder is offering this $2,200 annual premium? Perhaps I should check them out --
