Today's humor: CNN defends itself as purveyor of "Real News"
There are many excellent articles published daily in this fine c99 community. Most of them are fact-based, logical, relevant to the real-world. But face it people this can get a little heavy at times (or, a lot heavy depending upon your tolerance for such things). In an effort to lighten the load so to speak (load of what you may ask) I shall endeavor from time to time to inject some humor into these serious times (by the way, as many know, I am a professional at giving injections).
The less than factual (read: fake news) reportage (read: gossip or propaganda) now abounding in political discourse, renders the current situation pregnant with humor (and in that regard I am pro-life). Of course, one has to sift piles of excrement to find a nugget of humor. I voluntarily accept the responsibility but cordially invite those who see the ludicrous to join in. After all, a frown is a smile turned upside down (ooh, did I really say that?).
Today's message deals with a case of mistaken identity. It seems CNN (corrupt news network) considers itself to represent true journalism. Not only that but Chris Cuomo said the "press" must review facts and interpret them for us ignorant peons.
"When Mr. Trump went after our own Jim Acosta, saying he's fake news and he's not going to call on him, what I suspect we're seeing here is an attempt to discredit legitimate, responsible attempts to report on this incoming administration with irresponsible journalism that hurts us all.
Moral of the story: what goes around, comes around. Expect Mr. Trump to delegitimize the so-called MSM in the coming months.

Isn't that ironic
The man that MSM helped create and put in the WH is about to render them obsolete. I wish I had something to say in their defense but I'm drawing a blank.
In fairness
they only created the monster in order to have him vanquished in the general election. But they were too stupid (ahem) to recognize that you can't always control monsters. They're the idiots from 1950's horror movies- the ones to whom you yelled, don't be a fucking idiot.
:D :D :D ROFLMAO!

CNN, the same people
who were looking for that missing airliner 24/7 for months on end, and then finally asked if perhaps it disappeared into a black hole? I gotta go with Trump on this issue. Assange said that this election would burn down the mainstream media, he may be right.
"Obama promised transparency, but Assange is the one who brought it."
CNN, which Obama disparaged in the White House Correspondent's
Dinner when he followed a slew of compliments to a few promoted journalists with "And Jake Tapper, who quit journalism altogether to join CNN".
Black Hole, you say?
Ouch, LSM!! :-)

Payback
I's nice that the mainstream media is beginning to get some payback for the way they covered the 2016 presidential election. First, they played Clinton's game and built up Trump so she could run against him. After all, Trump was supposed to be the most beatable candidate. Secondly, the media either ignored Bernie Sanders or presented him in a negative light. The media has been the mouthpiece of the Deep State for quite a while. Now they have to wade through the sewer that they polluted.
Wait, you mean people thought
Wait, you mean people thought the MSM has been real news since the 1990's?
So long, and thanks for all the fish
"has been real news since the 1990's?" 80s

Chris Cuomo thinks possessing wikileaks is illegal...
except for the media.
Somehow, I would have thought Mario Cuomo's son would be a bit brighter.
The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?
tsk, tsk, tsk,
you're thinking again, NHK. Stop it.
"The “jumpers” reminded us that one day we will all face only one choice and that is how we will die, not how we will live." Chris Hedges on 9/11
Yeah, I know...
Tough habit to break.

I get that...

Neither of Mario Cuomo's sons is very bright
but they make up for it with smugness and an overweening sense of entitlement. Get ready- because Andy is clearly setting himself up for a run in 2020. All of a sudden he's discovered that he's the governor of NY. And is throwing money around like a drunken sailor on leave.
... and here I thought that the acronym "CNN"
stood for "Clinton News Network"?? Guess that now the extraterrestrials have abducted the Clintons (they certainly all have disappeared, hopefully forever), the network needs to change its appellation?

Am I Senile : Need Reality Check
In the late 1950s I thought of the press as a conduit of information. By the mid 1980s I turned off our television and never watched the main stream news again. This description is not in harmony with my perception of reality (cognitive dissonance induced failure imminent):
You were just ahead of the curve
my friend.
"You can't just leave those who created the problem in charge of the solution."---Tyree Scott
That is accurate
It was during the '80's that brought the advent of Cable Television News and CNN was the first. The paradigm shifted when it became understood that news 24/7 was viable. And that there was money in it. So, there's the shift. Instead of spending money on news, it was decided to profit from it and everyone knows what that means.
You flunked the senility test. With flying colors. Not senile.
"I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones."
John Cage
I get a chuckle just remembering that CNN
is the Mouth of the South, Ted Turner's legacy.
"I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones."
John Cage
It got a lot worse once Ted sold it off, or got bought out, or
whatever happened to conglomerate CNN with all the other mainstream "news" sources.
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
I will give credit
There are a lot of terrible things with Trump...
However, this is something I will give credit for. Watching him shoot down many of his primary opponents (Jeb, Rubio, etc.) and now this CNN reporter. Just vicious, but feels good.
Trump is The Mouth That Roared :-)
He single-handedly sank Jeb Bush's candidacy by reminding the public that 9/11 happened on George Jr's watch and Jr did not "keep us safe".
That blunt truth was refreshing after nearly two decades of weaselly lying and obfuscation.
Wonder what other little toads of truth will jump out of his mouth?
