Whitewashing at DKos?

So I'm picking over the carcass of my comment history over at TOP, which died last May when I finally bailed for the season.

I noticed a diary I had commented effusively about on May 22, titled "Hillary's problem with Independents".

Now wouldn't that be a very intriguing read now 6 months later? Why was I so enthusiastic about this diary? I bet there are some prognostications in there that would be helpful in our moment of deep introspection, right?

Banning the new member that was trying to hand over the 47% Video to DKos was one of the swiftest moves ever...

I was looking at those teaser clips and trying to get a hold of the guy...
The idiots were knocking him down so fast it couldn't be done...

There was no doubt in my mind it was some important stuff...

Come to think of it I might have mentioned it a time or 2 on my recent "Told You So Tour" at Dkos...
Yep Sure Did! LOL In their Live Election Blog I helped them count the ballot while this site wouldn't load...

Your last comment was a doozy, but as you wrote they are so inbred over there when no dissent is acceptable for them.
Gawd, it did become an echo chamber and I looked at it a few hours ago and dear gawd, there's a Im with her diary up.
Her is history, but they aren't going to give up on her come hell or high water.

I never realized that there were so many Crooked Democrats like Hillary, in this country in a position of power, where could profit and advance their power, that would infest a forum like DKos in size.

This is bigger than I ever imagined possible...
Everybody in there is making a great living, driving expensive luxury cars, and living high on the hog at the government feed trough...

I know the mood is pacifism but if the enemy is truly this big it's time to go Open Carry and Open Season and bring home the bacon...

a while back, putting me in limbo in neverending "time out" status. I can't get back in to delete anything. Not that it matters much.

It's such a strange place these days, awkwardly trying to praise Bernie while still trashing his supporters. They have an obsession for trying to be on the side of whichever politician is most popular at the time.

were real winners. A piece of mine pretty much stopped the privatization of Social Security in 2005, IIRC.

It always bothers me when I hear about how as a white male I have nothing to worry about in the future.

I've got debt and a crystal clear dissident voice that has hit a big nerve a couple of times. I'm going to be the first of the "privilege" group to be in trouble.

BTW, I second the compendium of gjohnsit. You really could publish that to great effect.

the title, or any unique phrase, plus your username and in this case you have the date, a Google search might turn up a cached record. I've done that a couple of times.

Instead of moderating the misogynistic slandering of Bernie supporters, Hillary fans have reacted by doubling down and calling Bernie supporters racists as well.
And unlike Trump, who is willing to acknowledge that some Mexicans might not be rapists, Hillary supporters have no problem making blanket statement that all Bernie supporters, every single one of them, are racist and sexist.
But it's only Bernie supporters that are the problem, not Hillary supporters. Riiiiight.

What makes this unusual is that this tactic is rarely applied outside of a general election. Oh sure, it's not unusual for things to get nasty between candidates during primaries. That's par for the course. Welcome to politics.
The difference is that you always want to get your opponents voters' support after the primaries are over.
That's why slandering those voters, all of them, is a stupid, self-defeating, long-term strategy.

I could go into why trying to attribute a small number of abusive, anonymous, online posters who claim to be Bernie supporters as representative of all of them is obviously dishonest.
I could go into the fact that some of that abuse never came from Bernie supporters at all, and was wrongly misattributed.
I could go into the fact that the internet is not a nice place, and pretending that this is something new is dishonest.

Instead I'm going to focus on the idea that Clinton supporters can slander and belittle all Sanders supporters and still think they can guilt them into voting for Hillary.
Just how Stockholm Syndrome'd do you think progressives are? These people are self-identified independents. They don't feel any loyalty to your candidate from the start. Calling them names isn't going to work.
So what exactly were you thinking? That you didn't need the independent vote?
Congrats then, because you don't have it.

It could still be done, but only after we get rid of everyone even remotely associated with 2016 strategy, the DNC and the Hillary campaign.

I'm hearing that Pelosi, Ellison and others are meeting as we speak with George Soros to try and figure out what went wrong, and how to fix it. Why are they meeting with a billionaire instead of us? Why does his voice count more than ours?

"The Democracy Alliance"

The Democracy Alliance was launched after the 2004 election by Soros, the late insurance mogul Peter Lewis, and a handful of fellow Democratic mega-donors who had combined to spend tens of millions trying to boost then-Sen. John Kerry’s ultimately unsuccessful challenge to then-President George W. Bush.

The donors’ goal was to seed a set of advocacy groups and think tanks outside the Democratic Party that could push the party and its politicians to the left while also defending them against attack from the right.

The group requires its members — a group that now numbers more than 100 and includes finance titans like Soros, Tom Steyer and Donald Sussman, as well as major labor unions and liberal foundations — to contribute a total of at least $200,000 a year to recommended groups. Members also pay annual dues of $30,000 to fund the DA staff and its meetings, which include catered meals and entertainment (on Sunday, interested donors were treated to a VIP tour of the recently opened National Museum of African American History and Culture).

"Advocacy groups and think tanks" what a waste. Sounds like a giant ponzi scheme to me, get the little people to chip in while bigs trade the money back and forth with each other. People are going without proper food and shelter to support that sick system. The Ds are wrong, I am glad they lost.
