Wednesday Rally Against PG&E's Attack on Rooftop Solar

Per an e-mail I received from CREDO action --

By 12/31/15, the CPUC) must decide how much credit Californians will get on their utility bills if they choose to go solar in 2016 and beyond. The major California utilities have launched an underhanded attack, pressing the agency to make it much more expensive to go solar. Their plan is to add unfair fees punishing those going solar and to reduce the amount the utilities pay customers for the excess daytime energy those customers deliver to the grid.

Naturally, PG&E is one of the leaders in this attack. Vote Solar is leading a rally at PG&E's headquarters in San Francisco to speak out against the company's brazen attack on clean energy.

What: Rally against PG&E's attack on solar in CA
When: Wed, Oct 14, 2015 12 PM-1 PM
Where: Outside PG&E Headquarters, 77 Beale Street, San Francisco

There is a sign up page to RSVP (though I doubt you really need to sign up) at http://action.votesolar.org/page/s/rsvp-for-october-14-solar-rally-at-pg...

A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.

have always been sleazy. Maybe some of the talking points, though.

That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --

on our PGE bill to supposedly pay for alternative energy. We would like to get solar rooftop panels but have looked into the costs and found it is un- affordable. We have an old two story tall 1914 house which facing west on a sunny slope and with southern exposure that would be perfect for solar panels. The goobly gook explanation I got from PGE about rates and the costs of installation made me realize I can not afford solar. There are on my short city block now 4 houses with solar panels but these households make more money then we do. If you don't make over 100,000 a year and can't afford the re-roofing associated with solar installation your out of the struggling workers loop.

I find with most energy or environmental retrofitting or even buying products that are ecologically sane are priced so you can't afford the vig which is out of most peoples economic range. You end up powerless to make choices that help the environment. We did buy a Prius 8 years ago when we had the money but times are tough and now we just hope we can generate enough income to pay the exorbitant, electric, gas and water bills. Meanwhile we have a leaky roof that's going to take 16,000$ to replace without solar panels.

How come they threw all that Fed. money at GMC to make more earth destroying trucks and SUV's and yet a full electric car like the new Telsa, is totally for the richy rich's? How about we make it real for all people to afford alternative energy? How about we create good paying jobs that generate affordable green products and an infrastructure that doesn't contribute to burning up the world.

btw A Scottish corporation owns PGE here in Oregon. Used to be Enron but they absconded with 30 million bucks and were replaced by some other giant corp. from offshore. Why can't we have public utilities that are owned by the people and our government local, regional and national? Just wait till these crooks get the TPP fast tracked. Might as well call Portland, the developer's Shanghai PNW or call our water dept Nestle's City Water.
