Symbolism
~
Today marks the high water mark from yesterday's new moon, Chinese New Year, Shrove
Tuesday (and today the strt of Ramadan). Hopefully the easing of celebrations will bring
a degree of sanity to our world. But, unfortunately, the trumpet regime is hell bent
on continually pouring gasoline on their chosen conflicts. Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Ukraine, Greenland, China and Russia. An industrial sized extinguisher may not be enough to
envelop the damages being enacted in 'our' name.
Lots of moving parts to comment on. Express yourselves on any topic.

Hey, good morning
.
Thought of noting the passing of Jesse Jackson,
the civil rights champion. Also involved with education,
environmental, prison complex, international negotiations
and other progressive issues. He left quite a legacy.

Good morning...
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust?
In Wordsworth's poem Psalm of life -
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.
My friend Lotus Dickey put the poem to music and used that stanza as the chorus.
Ash Wednesday marks the end of Marti Gras and the start of Lent. So much for the party?
Feb. 18 is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the 40 days and nights of Lent, which represent Jesus’ time in the desert resisting temptation.
Lent is traditionally a period of fasting, prayer and reflection meant to strengthen Catholics’ and Christians’ connection to God as they gather in communities like Stockton, home to the Diocese of Stockton, which comprises six counties.
Observers also typically refrain from eating meat for the entire duration or on Fridays and may even give up an aspect of their life they enjoy with some meaning, such as soda, social media or alcohol, to represent the temptations Jesus underwent.
On Ash Wednesday, Christians receive ashes at church on the forehead in the shape of a cross, meant to symbolize human mortality.
At the time of the ashes distribution, a priest will reference Genesis in the Bible and say, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return,” or “Repent and believe in the Gospel,” USA TODAY reported.
Hope your weather is warming. Headed to 70's today. We could use more rain, we've not gotten our winter dose so far.
All the best. Thanks for the OT!

Hey, Cap'n!
Busy day today.
Good luck on the cooking.
It is very difficult to find the ingredients for Asian cuisines here. You may know how t cook the dish and the ingredients, but the sauces and certain spices would nowadays have to be ordered online.
Thanks for the OT, friend!
