The Perfect Republican Candidate MD@NYT

So, I am not, nor never have been, a fan of Maureen Dowd. I think she's pretty close the to the definition of what's wrong with the main stream media.

She's also notorious for what we formerly called HDS (Hillary Derangement Syndrome) but which we now know as HRS (Hillary Reality Syndrome).

But when she is right, she is right, and she does an excellent job of laying out points that most of us here agree on in her new NYT editorial.

The Perfect G.O.P. Nominee

All these woebegone Republicans whining that they can’t rally behind their flawed candidate is crazy. The G.O.P. angst, the gnashing and wailing and searching for last-minute substitutes and exit strategies, is getting old.

They already have a 1-percenter who will be totally fine in the Oval Office, someone they can trust to help Wall Street, boost the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, cuddle with hedge funds, secure the trade deals beloved by corporate America, seek guidance from Henry Kissinger and hawk it up — unleashing hell on Syria and heaven knows where else.

The Republicans have their candidate: It’s Hillary.

And as she quotes from the man who brought us Sarah Palin (Steve Schmidt, a person surprising, on average, more lucid than you would expect given that he chose the "Dipstick with the Lipstick" from Wasilla to be on heart beat from the OO)

As Republican strategist Steve Schmidt noted on MSNBC, “the candidate in the race most like George W. Bush and Dick Cheney from a foreign policy perspective is in fact Hillary Clinton, not the Republican nominee.”

Worth the read.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981

They have created a monster and are just beginning to realize it. About a week ago, Krugman was admonishing Hellery to not promise anything to GOP donors in his No Right Turn column. It's like a horror movie when the earnest scientist suddenly realizes what he has done. Usually he dies saving everyone else as atonement for his sins. One can only hope.

Time to start the popcorn!

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?

Celebrating about how another republican from the Bush administration is supporting Hillary.
I wonder if teacherken wrote a diary today saying that MD is a must read?
Smile
He has 2-3 diaries a day telling people that they need to read 'this must read' article.
I'm betting that he didn't write one for MD

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

And TOP would breathlessly proclaim that this signals the best hope for peace with Russia.

Even if his endorsement was something like "I hope the Americans elect Hillary, because I look forward to nuking the White House with her in it."

You can always count on three diaries up over there with a 'Look what someone else wrote today'. Not much of a teacher or thinker.

Back in the day, before his wife Leaves on the Current got ill, TK was a a witty and insightful writer on matters pertaining to teaching.

Recently, however, under financial strains, it appears, Ken has gotten evermore disillusioned with the politicisation (and corporatisation) of the profession. He (like me) is over 70 yo, does not have a lot of financial resources, and has a very ill wife to look after.

I can truly understand it if it's really true, as some have alleged, that Ken is taking $$ from the DNC to write or reference eloquent articles praising the Democratic nominee.

I can disagree heartily with him and at the same time bear him no ill will.

There is no need for disparagement.

From 2008:
“Geffen, a big fundraiser for the Clintons in the past, called Obama "inspirational" and dismissed Hillary Clinton as "overproduced and overscripted." As for her husband, Geffen suggested that his bad-boy days are not behind him: "I don't think anybody believes that in the last six years, all of a sudden Bill Clinton has become a different person." And to top it off, he said this about the two of them: "Everybody in politics lies, but they do it with such ease, it's troubling."

I think it could be kind of amusing if he tried to recreate his "former glories" and Hillary walked in to find "them" in HER office at HER desk.

I wonder if Putin can hack the security cameras for us? Hope there are mics as well...
