Judicial Watch: why Hillary needs to be deposed
For those of you who patiently waded through the 7 emailgate deposition summaries posted here by me, you may recall that in at least one of them I predicted that Medusa would have to testify under oath. That truth may be aborning. According to another JW release, Hillary will likely be deposed and fairly soon.
This week we went back to Judge Sullivan after Clinton seemed to change her story about the email system housed at her home in Chappaqua, NY. We cited a recent interview with Scott Pelley, of CBS News “60 Minutes”:
PELLEY: All right. Do you think you blew it on the e-mails?
CLINTON: Oh, I’ve said I did. Absolutely. I made a mistake. I should have had two accounts; one for personal and one for office. And I didn’t, and I take responsibility for that.
PELLEY: Why did you do that, have the private e-mail servers?
CLINTON: You know, Scott, other people did have — other secretaries of state, other high-ranking members of administrations, plural. And it was recommended that it would be convenient, and I thought it would be. It’s turned out to be anything but.
Then JW noted quite accurately:
Based on her testimony to the Benghazi Select Committee, the statement on her campaign website, and her purported answers to the FBI’s questions, it is nowhere even suggested that Secretary Clinton’s decision to use the clintonemail.com system for official government business was based on someone else’s recommendation.
Because of the evolving explanation, Secretary Clinton’s deposition is necessary to effectively and efficiently understand how the decision was made and the motivation behind it.
(Emphasis mine).
Two things I find interesting about the lawyers defending Clinton (and peripherally the DOS) is that one of the lawyers is from the DOJ--make of that what you will.
The objections by Hillary's defense team merit a brief, and I do mean brief perusal.

Well, as she'll tell everybody...
When she arrived at Capital Hill, after Dodging Sniper Fire from the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, aided by intelligence provided by the conspiracy of "Bernie Bros", she entered to endure a grueling forty-eight hour questioning session, in which all the senators did was scream "BENGHAZI!" at her, before insinuating that she Killed Vince Foster personally, and then proceeded to smear her by claiming her husband once had had relations with Barry Goldwater.

Thanks for the laugh as I enter my convection oven warehouse job!
Too funny.
She twisted the answer again.
The question was about the servers. She answered about using a non-gov't email address. As everyone knows by now, no other official used a private server. At some point, she will say that she misunderstood the question and wander off again with some other lame side tracking of he issue.
The woman is not even a good liar.
Does she dare say that the recommendation came from Kissinger (cf. the Kissinger vault where he hid official gov't documents)?

WindDancer, everyone BUT her supporters know
No other person used a private server.
They continue to say that Powell and Rice too used a private account too so Hillary didn't do anything different.
It doesn't matter how many times people correct them, they continue to not stick to the facts.
I find it amazing how selectively they cherry pick me facts.
A leftist is someone with morally correct politics. A liberal is someone who wants to feel morally correct w/o ever putting themselves at odds with power or costing themselves opportunities or experiencing the uncomfortable emotions that truth causes.
Oh, they KNOW all right. They just figure that if
they deny it long and loud enough that everyone will UNKNOW it eventually. Very 1984ish of them. Kind of like when they insist that "She wasn't charged with anything; therefore, she is not guilty of any wrongdoing." *Sigh*

No, the general public has no clue (by design)
Most people just keep repeating that everyone else did it too - their plan is working.
'What we are left with is an agency mandated to ensure transparency and disclosure that is actually working to keep the public in the dark' - Ann M. Ravel, former FEC member
I was thinking about her more ardent supporters,
including anyone who has any dealings with Washington as they know very well better but help spread the lies anyway because it suits their purposes.
I think because we (people at c99) live in our own little world, we forget that most people are struggling so much with daily life that they have no energy to devote to truth finding. As Sanders said the very poor don't vote. The middle class and working class are busy trying to keep their heads above water. The vast majority of those people still get their news from the six o'clock nightly news and hear little else. Those who are comfortably well off for the most part can afford HRC's policies, so don't care about the lies or have rationalized them in such a way as to negate their effects.

The woman is not even a good liar.
It takes a photographic memory to be a good liar. One has to remember all the untruths they have told. Honesty only follows one simple thread, thus much simpler to maintain. HRC has done a fair job of Lying, I'd say. She gets caught time, and time again, but manages to skate away from accountability. Her sycophants will simply say that she has done nothing that others haven't done, or continue to do. Two levels of the law...one for us, one for "HER"
How good does she have to be? The MSM has her back.

Boy is that ever true
The Fox interview with Chris Wallace was supposed to be "hard hitting". Yet, even he didn't counter her bs by quoting Comey and saying "You had classified information in your system that was not re-classified later, it was classified at the time it was sent. Whether it was marked or not makes no difference. Some of it is so classified to this day that it is totally redacted and even Congress can't see it. Basically every single statement you have ever made to the American public is false."
Today, all of the Dem talking heads are going around and repeating her Big Lie. They believe if they say it enough, they can rewrite both history and reality. And this is the behavior BEFORE they attain/retain access to power!?

I remember watching the media crown Dubya during the
2000 campaign. From the way the two candidates were presented I could tell who was the chosen one was. Bush would lead off, sleeves rolled up, working the crowd. Then we'd be shown Gore in a more negative light, maybe ridiculing his Soc Security lockbox somehow. I think Gore was chosen to lose because of his views on global warming. It was too inconvenient a truth for the 1%.

The msm, the DNC and every Democratic pol in the USA.
Why?
Why does she constantly, consistently get away with lying. She repeats the same lie, using slightly different words. Who ever is interviewing her, just stumbles and bumbles, and she repeats the lie.
WHY does she get away with this? When was the last time she held a press conference.
I guess people will accept a lie
if they want to believe it's true. Most lies are told for a reason. There's a purpose, an agenda behind them. If people agree with that purpose, they will tend to believe lies that are told in support of it.
Anyway the truth is not an absolute thing that everyone agrees on. There are shadings and hidden contours to it, and it can appear quite different when viewed from different angles.

What could have been the purpose of "we landed under
sniper fire"? Some people also lie just to lie.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.--Aristotle
If there is no struggle there is no progress.--Frederick Douglass
There ara a couple of possible reasons.
They vary from person to person based on their own needs and desires.
One reason some believe her is that she lies with confidence. She expects to be believed and that sets the listener up to accept what she says. People tend to be rather unsophisticated about detecting lies relying often on body language that can also be deceptive.
For today's so-called journalists, it is more matter of keeping their jobs. Others in the corporate media are not going to back them up if they decide to insist on the truth. They sooth their conscience with telling themselves that someday they will write a best selling book revealing the deceptions, but for now they need to play along. After all, look what is happening to whistle blowers in this current culture.
Another reason for some people would be that they just plain old want to believe despite all the evidence of their own eyes and ears. So they deny their own reality in order to support the lies for some kind of emotional payoff.
Some feel guilty for not voting for her in 2008 as Obama has turned out to not be the answer. The pity vote for her not being nominated in 2008. The "she's a woman" excuse that blinds some to everything else. We have heard over and over people say that they support HRC simply becasue she is a woman (with no other reason). Some (obviously many) people are willing to overlook the lies in order to achieve a certain goal that makes them feel better about themselves.
Other people feel empathy for HRC as the cheated-upon wife (the victim) and for having lost the previous nomination (it's her turn). They are pretty sure they know how they would feel if they had been in those situations, but fail to see that HRC did not react or feel the way that most people would. So people are willing to give her more leeway, and once they have invested emotionally in her, they are unable to break away.
Then there is the "all politicians lie" meme. People have come to expect politicians to lie and with HRC they excuse one after another without looking at the build up of lie after lie after lie.
Press conference? Going on about a year now since she had one, I think.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.--Aristotle

What amazes me is how many otherwise good people
will lie for her, and I can't remember all of them: John Lewis and Liz Warren for sure. Who knows how many of those people at the convention with their personal testimonials of how she help them.
As for Bernie, I just have to keep believing he was using some trope of the opposite of the truth "and Hilary believes. . . " because he & we know she may understand what the people need, but we also know she has no intention of coming through on any of it.
It's like they've been replaced by pod people. ;)
"The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now do you begin to understand me?" ~Orwell, "1984"
Hmmmm, I wonder if Sanders method is to replace
her not having any moral center with the memes he keeps telling her she believes. As she cannot seem to settle on any one side of an issue for long, maybe he can convince her that she actually believes in progressive actions. It is worth a try, I suppose.
As for the other people around her, it may be that they have somehow convinced themselves that they know better than anyone else. It's an ego thing. Wall St is missing a good chance to sell a lot of those crumbling bridges in our country.

She can always use the excuse
She can always use the excuse that she's merely senile and can't keep anything straight even for an instant, explaining her perpetual-and-never-learnt-from 'mistakes' and continual changes depending on the target audience.

Snope's seems to indicate no.
She admits to failing the DC bar (which is consistent with what I heard before). But sources say she passed the Arkansas bar. No mention of how many tries, but her timeline doesn't really support 4 tries.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/barexam.asp
Not only is the Arkansas bar easier than the D.C. Bar, but
I bet Bill had enough contacts in Arkansas to get her a passing grade, even if she'd didn't pass.
Lol, bet she cheated to pass
Lol, bet she cheated to pass the bar exam in Arkansas the 4th time trying.

the bar exam signifies little
I have a very smart friend who has a science PhD and then went and got his JD who had to take the bar a second time. It is a tough thing to pass even if you've spent a lot of time and money on bar review classes and studying.
3-4 times may be a bit different.
Well, there are different kinds of intelligence.
Hillary is obviously a highly successful survivalist in the wild and woolly world of US politics. It doesn't necessarily mean she knows much about anything else, but in her chosen field she's tops.

As a partner!
Rose did a lot of work for the State of Arkansas and Bill was Governor.
But, don't you dare say she didn't get that job on her own. Same with being a Director of Walmart. Same with working in Washington on the Watergate.
Who gets a job like that, straight out of law school without contacts with Democrats? Bill had those contacts. If Hillary's family had contacts with any pols, they would have been Republican pols.
And lets not forget
her stellar rise to New York Senator after having been a resident for only one year! That would have absolutely nothing to do with being FLOTUS, of course!

lots of people fail it. this is not something worth talking about
Marc Halperin just made mincemeat of Robby Mook on Morning Joe
over the HRC interview on Fox where Hillary astoundingly says that Comey said she didn't have classified information and that she's told the truth. And that anything that happened was the fault of the other 300 people she emailed with. ( 4 Pinocchios from the Washington Post)
Halperin and Scarborough sat open-jawed as Mook tried to say the same thing. Halperin asked about FOIA responsibilities and Mook had NO answer. Scarborough asked about Hillary basically making people email her on an unclassified system and then trying to blame breaches on the people she forced into her system. Mook fell into an abyss by saying classified material doesn't belong on an unclassified system. And that we'll never know because we can't see the emails, BECAUSE THEY'RE CLASSIFIED. My head exploded.
This explains why you'll NEVER see HRC in a press conference again because she is completely incapable of talking about her emails. They'll foist the kinds of questions Halperin was asking and she'll simply dissolve into babbling in coherency.
" “Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough.” FDR "
She doesn't need press conferences. The morning shows and
evening news all feature her in a very positive light. Meanwhile teh Donald is taking heavy flack for saying stupid things about the DNCs honored war dead featured at the convention. So it's spotless Hillary vs the serviceman disrespecting Donald. That's the message sent to the voters courtesy of the MSM.

Time For a Press Conference
The media (if they were not bought and paid for) would tell the Hillary campaign until you hold an open press conference we will not cover you any longer.
For Trump, until you release tax returns, no coverage.
Great idea @capforfun!
Maybe journalists should realize that "access journalism" can work in two directions instead of just one.
And they could put a press conference countdown clock on any articles they do write.
It is a very dangerous precedent for any candidate or politician to believe that they have no responsibility to appear before the public or their stand-ins, the press in an open forum.

Yeah... that's OK
I'm pretty fine with being called "not a real progressive". You'll note that the Hillary campaign has been beating that drum about Bernie supporters from day 1.
But how about this? Instead of just impugning the source, how about you tell us what, in specific, you disagree with? You do realize, right, that "right wing rag" is a meaningless statement. By that, I assume, you are saying that it's trustworthiness is limited. That same statement encompasses CNN, NPR, Time, WaPo, etc, etc etc. It's worth pointing out that all the real reporting about the DNC convention has come from Fox News.

I deal in facts, not this weird tribal identity crap that seems to be so common in politics. You didn't provide any so whatever argument you were trying to make is... well... non-existent.
Insofar as trusting Bernie, I do .... to an extent. But Bernie, like Noam Chomsky, has not been able to support his argument that I ought to get behind Hillary. I respect them both but "EVIL TRUMP" just doesn't cut it for me. I understand that they both are deathly afraid of Trump and I also understand that both seem to have some odd blinders on when looking at the Democratic party and Hillary in particular. I don't share their fear and I don't have their blinders.

yes not off hand but I will look. it is true. Susan Rice did Janet Reno, Colen Powel and Bush himself. it is not some unusual thing.
I think you may find that they had private accounts
That is to say, a gmail account or somesuch they used for non governmental communications. Everything I've read said the people you listed did, in fact, have such things and it is the correct way to handle everything... assuming you keep everything in the email system it belongs in.
That is a whole different world from having your own email server.

Can you please point me to a source
I am not trying to stir the pot, but my understanding was it email addresses vs server(s). Can you provide me a source, so I can read up on it? Being in IT, this is a huge difference/issue and I would like to know if others had their own email servers and networks.

The only one that had a private server was Jeb Bush--and it was
physically contained in a State of Florida government building--not in his home basement, or bathroom.
(Or, wherever FSC had the server stored at Chappaqua.)
IIRC, Colin Powell stated that he had used his personal email account for State Department 'housekeeping, or Administrative business, on limited occasions.
I thought he said it was his Gmail account on a Sunday political program, but I just read that it was an AOL account. At any rate, he didn't have his own private server.

To prove me wrong, please post a link to a credible source. Thanks in advance.
Oh, and a private email account is not the same as a private server, and none of them used a private email account exclusively. Powell, for example, said he used his for only "housekeeping" matters.
