Welfare Reform — the ultimate New Democrat policy. But because Welfare policy is complicated, and only effect poor people little is said about it. And yet Welfare Reform is the policy that keeps targeting poor people.
So the Atlantic notes today:
We're housing a hard-working volunteer for the Sanders campaign, who's been on the road more than 4 months with his air mattress, basic belongings, and commitment to the political revolution (leaving his beloved woozles behind with a caretaker). The campaign has just opened an office on our street. The place needs everything from coffee makers and dorm-size fridge and microwaves to food.
The issue of how Speaker Clinton finances her campaign, and the contrast with the small-donation funded Bernie campaign, is not going away, and it should not. Our campaign finance system is a big driver of the Great Inequality because it leads to unequal policy outcomes that both create and exacerbate the economic and other inequality. Who really believes that Big Money does not poison our democracy? Citizens Union was just the latest victory for the billionaires.

I posted this on DK this morning, and I knew it would get some bad attention. I am surprised though, at how little thoughtful discussion was brought about by it. Today seems like an exceptionally Hillary day over there, I'm thinking either too many are afraid of being banned for not talking up Hillary enough, or too many already have. Hopefully this will encourage some thoughtful discussion here. My first post here, so please let me know if it is out of line.
