Sun AM – 7-24-2016 – Tim Kaine updates – what a horrible mistake – complete lunacy – does HRC staff have no memory of the buyers remorse voters had with Obama – Kaines nomination is one that only an extremely reckless person would ever consider or make

The Tim Kaine nomination is profoundly wrong. Wrong with an 50+% chance of being a profoundly horrible mistake for everyone in this county. A mistake that will hit the 98% of Americans who are not already Millionaires and Billionaires especially hard.

The three powerful reasons why no Democratic party US Senator - especially a harder to replace southern Senator - should be proactively taken from their Senate seat in the next 2 years are:

KFC fires manager for discriminating against transgender worker

photo KFC_zpsj6mvldru.jpgTransgender fast food worker Georgia Carter was hired by a Richmond, Virginia, KFC and fired about an hour later upon discovery that she was trans.

He was like you have got the job. I am going to start you out at $7.50 an hour. It is yours. We are going start you training on the computer tomorrow. It was like 11 to four (o clock).

--Carter

She went home happy, but received a phone call shortly afterward.

He was like my supervisor, and I have a problem because on your license it says male but you’re … I said I’m transgender.

Oh, we can’t hire you because we don’t know which bathroom you can use.

--Carter

In a statement to Eater, KFC chief people officer John Kurnick relayed news of that manager's termination following an internal Yum! Brands inquiry. KFC's franchisee policy bars discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation, Kurnick said.

Anti-Trans forces fail in two states...for now

It should be clear to anyone with the slimmest of interest in the freedom of human beings to be who they are that there is a well-established organized effort to force all transgender people...but especially the transgender kids...to live as the gender we were assigned at birth.

That's the whole point restricting access to public accommodations like restrooms.

Well, today we find that efforts by those forces have failed in Virginia and Washington.

Hate rears an ugly head

Last May, two months after Virginia Attorney General Mark R. Herring (D) issued an opinion saying they could, the Fairfax County School Board voted to approve protecting transgender students and staff.

The decision by the Fairfax County School Board to add ‘gender identity’ to our nondiscrimination policy is to provide an environment which promotes equality where every student and employee is treated with dignity and respect.

That's double-plus ungood according to conservative hate forces. So Andrea Lafferty, leader of the Traditional Values Coalition goaded a high school student into joining her in a lawsuit against the school board, arguing "that the county school board overstepped its bounds when it changed the policy to bar discrimination of students and staff based on their gender identity or sexual orientation. The suit asks for an injunction to stop the board from implementing the policy."

We have warned for months that such changes were not only jeopardizing our children but in direct contravention of long-standing Virginia statute.

DoE, DoJ step up for Gavin Grimm in 4th Circuit

photo Gavin_zpsuoaqpjow.jpgWhen last we encountered Gavin Grimm, Gloucester County Schools were still preventing the trans teen from using the boys room and the district had received the blessing of District Court Judge Robert Doumar in Norfolk.

Gavin's ACLU attorneys have asked an appeals court to replace Doumar, who denied his request for a preliminary injunction, because Doumar has made statements that he is "suspicious of modern medical science regarding gender identity." The lawyers say that Doumar has repeatedly referenced Gavin's "mental disorder" and accused him and them of just seeking publicity.

Yesterday the Department of Educations Office of the General Council and the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division filed a 40-page friend-of-the-court brief with the 4th US Circuit Court on behalf of Grimm.
