It's hard to imagine just how completely the political leadership of the left-wing has failed us until they try to do something. For example, progressives in the Democratic Party are only now trying to create a comprehensive foreign policy stand.

Those of you who are skeptical, well, you were right to be.
Not all members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus are equal.

Now is a good time to take a step back and look at the big picture.
Is the effort to reform the calcified and corrupt Democratic Party working?
Short answer: the results are mixed.

The corrupt Democratic Party establishment is starting to get concerned because the base of the party is beginning to demand actual results. So the reactionary forces that have controlled the party for decades are mobilizing.

After a socialist candidate won in the Bronx, the news media has spilled a lot of ink about how the Democrats are going too far to the left.
Someone should tell the Democratic Party establishment.

A good example is what happened in Rhode Island this week.

For the first time since 1992 I wasted my vote - I voted for some Democrats.
Three of them. None of them got as much as 3% of the vote, but that's not the problem.
The problem was that I voted strategically. You know, "pragmatically". I voted for some Berniecrats in the hope that I could help accomplish something in the Democratic Party, rather than my normal strategy of voting 3rd party down the line.

Just when you were ready to write off the progressive insurgency, yesterday happened.

The biggest headline victory was in Nebraska.

Three months ago the Democrats were going to crush the Republicans.
Today the Democrats' lead is within the margin of error.

Dead but not yet buried. The Dimocraptic party is like a three-legged bulldog. Tenacious bite but won't get very far. I am happy to report that Florida leads the nation due to my cousins' great appetites. Seems like them Dems got hold of a bone and can't let go. Mmm, meaty. The party of the people? Which people? The party for the people--not our people. The party of the working person?
