Afternoon folks!

It's a feast of blues this week. Starting off in New Orleans with an album from barrelhouse piano player Champion Jack Dupree, we then move on to an album from Taj Mahal, with a stellar version of Horace Silver's "Senor Blues." Following that we go to a live album from Muddy Waters and then a raw, rootsy album from Big Bad Smitty. After that it's blues-rock time with a live Hot Tuna album and we finish up in the diversity department with a folksy kind of album from The Be Good Tanyas.

The moving pieces on International and Domestic policies keeps going in circles faster and faster. No time to catch a breath. Up is down, down is up. Danger stalks the local communities and in far away places. Is it possible to focus on creating some calmness? Is the constant spinning to keep US off balance?

It is an odd moment in time when on the same day Pepe Escobar, Erik Prince and Alex Jones are doing videos trying to prevent a disastrous a war with Iran.

Ice, Ice Baby

Like just about everyone else, I like the song which is the title of this post better than Ice. And I don't even like that song that much (I'm too old).

A couple of days ago Ken Klippenstein wrote an article about what at least some immigration officers are saying about how ICE is acting now. It's a good article. Apparently there is quite a bit of division in the Homeland Security Peeps (calling them that is mean to baby chickens, isn't it?) over the killings of Alex Pretti and others.

Bovino. He's out, as I'm sure you know, and is going to end up in California. What the hell did California do to deserve that? He should be in Mar-a-Lago, arresting men who abuse young women... ohh wait, he'd have to arrest Trump... (image from Klippenstein's substack article)
