Obamacare repeal fail

That is becoming painfully obvious with the Obamacare repeal.

A recent essay by The Aspie Corner about "how the Professional Class Kills Desire for Decent Employment" spurred a comment by me along the same vein (artery?)
Bernie Sanders, CNBC and other news media outlets had some fun at Trump's expense when he said in front of the cameras "my friend from Australia cause you have better health care than we do."
I have written in the past, via comments, that if we don't start learning how to prevent the co-option of our movement, we are toast. In addition, we must have a reliable way to get that message out: a vehicle if you will.
All you need do is look at history. TPTB, regardless of party affiliation, seem to always learn from their mistakes because they are greedy sociopaths/psychopaths. Their primary need is to be dominant. Whether it is having more money and/or power than 'name your deity' over those they deem to be less than, we must remember it is their prime motivator.
I don't want my hard earned money going toward healthcare for someone who doesn't take care of themselves.
Remember this moment?
How about this moment?
Heh. Lot's of rumours about Bernie, will he or won't he. Got a fundraising email from him yesterday asking for donations based on the come. Think I will def wait to see the bill.
Regardless, there is a substantial move afoot to make Medicare For All happen. Now. Even 40% Republicans think it's time.
Progress takes time, baby steps. If you want something, you have to start at the bottom and work your way up. That's the way Bernie Sanders sees it with health care for Americans. Instead of demanding a single payer health care system NOW, like that described in HR 676, a legitimate single payer plan that now has 72 cosponsors in Congress, Bernie thinks it's "prudent" to improve Obamacare first by adding a public option to it, to "work toward" Medicare for all.
Just read Steven's excellent essay sharing his family recent healthcare experiences.
As usual when I read this type of news I am motivated to stave off depression by going to my favorite antidote, the website or twitter stream of PHNP .

After reading BigAl's healthcare related essay yesterday did a little digging as this is a big issue for me. We have had to pay out around $15,000-20,000 out of savings in the last 5 years as opposed to over $120,000 had we had no coverage. Jakkalbessie and I both had big hospital events and extended treatment since we retired 12 years ago, and would have been bankrupt by now without our shitty teacher retirement healthcare that now has it's funding in question at the state level.
