Open Thread - 12-08-23 - Impirium Parasitus

Empires are parasites.

Impirium Parasitus (U.S. Empire) lives upon two hosts, the internal host and the external host. The citizens as the internal hosts and the victim as the external host country or state. Sometimes the relationship is symbiotic, but most times it's only beneficial for the parasite. In end stages when the host/s are no longer to be found or have been depleted, the Impirium Parasitus may turn exclusively on its citizens.

Impirium Parasitus has learned and adapted from past hosts. The Vietnam War or The War in Southeast Asian taught the parasite many valuable lessons that are presently applied to contemporary conflicts.

  • The hoi polloi (common people, the masses) must not discern caskets draped in American flags.
  • The hoi polloi must not hear anti-empirical words that emanate from the popular music of the day.
  • Protest must be hidden from the citizens as much as possible.
  • The use of censorship and propaganda to obfuscate the motivation for parasitical exploitation.
  • The use of political intimidation to keep the hoi polloi in line.
  • The use of a proxy army.

Open Thread - 10-28-22 - Fool Yourself

We knew this was coming, didn't we.

I was born in 1954. It's hung over my head my whole life. Yours too I bet. I grew up reading dystopian novels, tales of vicarious journeys into the dark side of man, nightmares that lodged themselves into the recesses of our psyches, nudged there by notions that those stories were too wild to be true. After World Wars I and II we knew what mankind was capable of, but we were better than that. Better fools than we would have ourselves believe.

Then came the 1960s and the world turned upside down. Change was in the air. Much of the upheaval in the 60s was about today, we just didn't realize it then. Hell, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it. Little did we know, that was the start. The road and the proverbial can were going downhill at an ever quickened pace. The can took the wrong fork somewhere on that road, and we followed.

After the effort for a better world, that was beaten down at the barrel of a gun at Kent State, life became about excess. All the while though, in the back of the mind, it loomed. Mankind seems more adept at rationalization than rationality. Did this predicament we find ourselves in today sneak up on us or did we fool ourselves into believing our own arrogance? Did we look away in lieu of the good life?

Much like Dorian Grey, we sat at the apex of man, and exchanged our nation's youthful vigor for the pleasures of abundance after making a deal with technology, and comfort. That deal is now coming due. And like Dorian, we look at the landscape that reflects our excesses, and we see what we have become. And it's ugly.

In the end, Dorian slashes, with a knife, at the hideous figure staring back at himself in the portrait, and in a stark realization becomes that which he feared. A dark, empty, and rotten shell of a man. Dead by his own hand.

Iran v. other state actors on the JCPOA & other FP issues

This is a bit of complicated tome, but for me key to understanding who is in charge of US foreign policy, and who (besides Zionist Israel) really rules the Western Empire.

It’s often said that dying Empires, rather than cede some power to other multiopolar nations/nation states, are at their most irrational, and engage in loose cannon command and control wherever they believe they can get away with it.

Additionally, will the New Boss (Biden’s still aiming at China and Russia) look much like the Old Boss come Inauguration Day?  Biden’s choice for Secretary of State is Anthony ‘Nice Guy’ Blinken  (h/t Alan Macleod) who never met an Imperial  war he didn’t love, and apparently the sociopathic Michelle Flournoy for SecDef got a thumbs-down from too many ‘progressives, so he’s going with: ‘Secretary of Defense Lloyd ‘Serial War Profiteer’ (h/t Caitlin Johnstone) Austin

First: ‘Elon Musk is acting like a neo-Conquistador for South America’s lithium’, Mar 09, 2020 by Vijay Prashad and Alejandro Bejarano  (CC non-commercial)

By my lights, the authors have buried the lede.

They first report that Musk wants to build an electric car factory in Brazil, and was supposed to have met with Jair Bolsonaro (who either has or hasn’t tested positive for corona virus depending on which hour of the #FakeNews cycle).  As Musk had ended up being too busy, he’ll go to Brazil later this year.  Apparently ‘all eyes are on the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina where both BMW and GM already have factories.  They provide a list of names that Musk has been in contact with already who are eager for Musk to build a Gigfactory there as well.

Normandy Four Paris Ukraine Peace Talks

Much of what happened at the Paris Summit is being reported a bit differently, and sometimes rather enigmatically, and will include ‘breaking news’ toward at the end.  This may be the War and Peace report (both literally and figuratively) on the Summit, but in my defense, I’ll ask you to consider that it’s the nexus of proxies for NATO/US Ukrainegate/and Putin’s Russia.

I’ll start with:  ‘Normandy Four agree to ‘stabilize’ eastern Ukraine in Paris communique’, Dec. 9 2019, RT.com

“Prior to the news conference, the leaders said in a joint communique that they agreed to “immediate measures to stabilize the situation in the conflict area in east Ukraine.” Previous attempts by the ‘Normandy Four’ group to simmer down the conflict have achieved mixed results at best.

more on the bombing of the Saudi aramco oil processing field

This image provided on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, by the U.S. government and DigitalGlobe and annotated by the source, shows damage to the infrastructure at Saudi Aramco’s Abaqaiq oil processing facility in Buqyaq, Saudi Arabia. (click for larger)

Given that gjonsit’s thread from Sept. 15 is still continuing, it may not be necessary to put this up, but I thought I could add a few bits, and you’ll add more.  Needless to say, Iran is getting all the evidence-free blame, Houthi claims of being the authors of the swarm of precision hits notwithstanding, nor are other possibilities.

Lindsey Graham wants a bilateral defense treaty with Israel

A hypothetical Q: if it were ever to get far enough in the long process, would two-thirds of the Senate vote to ratify it?  Some of the background:

‘Lindsey Graham’s Blank Check. Why a Defense Agreement With Israel Would Be a Disaster for Americans’, Philip Giraldi, August 22, 2019

Giraldi writes that Graham had first publicly advocated for such a pact at the Republican Jewish Coalition in April of 2019, times of israel :

“Graham said at the annual meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Las Vegas Saturday that it’s time for the US to declare to the world how important its relationship is with Israel.

Zelensky won the run-off election for President of Ukraine

Or as Bernhard at MoA puts it‘Ukraine Election – Voters Defeat Second Color Revolution’, July 22, 2019, moonofalabama.org

He begins with a fairly concise version of the Western-orchestrated revolution in 2014 in which Victor Yanukovitch failed to sign the EU Association deal that would bind Ukraine not only to the West, but to NATO.  Russia had countered with a better deal:

“It offered billions in investments and long term loans. Much of Ukraine’s industry depends on Russia and Russian gas was offered to the Ukraine for less than the international market price. Yanukovych, who originally wanted to sign the EU association, had no choice but to refuse it, and to take the much better deal Russia offered.”

Who Shot Down Flight MH17 over Eastern Ukraine in 2014?

Well of course it was the Evil Russians!  Didn’t Russians also shoot Roger Rabbit?  We’d been discussing this 2014 interview with Tulsi Gabbard on my post ‘analyses of the leaked ‘Deal of the Century’ I/P peace plan’ that I’d found that day and posted in comments, mainly wanting to feature her anti-Palestinian Hasbara.  As I remember it, this ‘blame’ started the horrific sanctions on Russia.

Pentagon: Iran’s revolutionary guards behind ship sabotage off UAE coast as Abu Dhabi Mum

‘Well who the hell cares about Abu Dhabi’s mum, who the fuck’s she to us, anway?’ hollered Rear Admiral Michael Gilday.  General Rear Gild-the-Lily blustered on: ‘Who the fuck needs ‘evidence’, when we have Intel from Mossad?  And they say those terr’ists had attached magnetic limpet mines, those evil devils.  I don’t know how they delivered them; bathyscaphes or those friggin’ Russian spy dolphins for all I know, but who the hell cares? We know because Mossad told us so.
