anger

Positive Thinking. Grin and Bear It. Fake it 'Til You Make It. Fuck That Noise.

Some of the therapists I've seen over the years since my diagnosis have used shit like this to describe ways of coping or dealing with certain situations. Unlike many neurotypicals, I don't have a 'switch' to 'turn it off'. You see, I'm not just dealing with Asperger's, I'm dealing with life-long depression as a result of not working with it early in life and I'm dealing with the neurological and physical aspects of hemiplegia.

Trump, Mika and Joe and why I dont effing care.

These people amongst so many others played with the truth over the years in the name of ratings. They helped create the monsters that rule us, they have helped divide America for their own hubris and greed. So many of these media fakes have made their fortunes by spreading falsehoods, they are no better than Alex Jones and his ilk; just a little less obvious.

Paul Simon Gives Tour de Force and a Sermonette

In a concert at the riverside pavilion in Cleveland last week, Paul Simon gave the crowd a tour-de-force -- and a sermonette.

The tour-de-force was made up of a strong choice of songs from Simon's 53-year-long career. Five Simon and Garfunkel songs, five songs from the lush "Graceland" album, a couple from last year's "Stranger to Stranger," and 13 more carried the crowd through a 2 hour and 10 minute musical trip. Throughout, Simon hit the right notes, while his band put out striking strong rhythms and soaring psychedelic sounds.

The sermonette came just before the last song:

I feel a little bit funny about saying these things, but I'm giving, I'm allowing myself the privilege of it due to my advanced age. For years it is my observation: Anger is addictive. And we are becoming a nation of addicts. Ask yourself, "Who are the dealers? Who are the pushers? Where, where is that anger coming from?" And be aware of -- when you hear it, when you see it -- be aware of its source. It's not, it's not that we aren't gonna have reasons to be angry. Of course we do. But decision-making and best choices are made with a cool and a calm mind. And in a well-knit community, practice kindness.

Then he played, in acoustic solo, "The Sound of Silence."

Meeting my Assemblyman: "Gimme three steps..."

The election of President Trump is the New Pearl Harbor: it awoke the sleeping giant. Protests abound from coast to coast, from Canadian to Mexican borders. Undoubtedly part of it is due to George Soros and Hillary Clinton but that's only a part of the story and probably not even the major part of the story.
Angry citizens have voiced their fears, frustrations, and threats of reprisal against elected "representatives" (i.e., voting them out next election).

So much WHINING...

It's all their fault!

All the Sexist, Racist, Elitist, Privileged, White People!

I'm scared and I'm going to go cry and whine now. I'm literally SHAKING! Watch me wail in despair!

This seems to be the reaction among many folks who were convinced by the media that Trump is literally Hitler.

If you are having this reaction, please raise your hand. Now take that hand and smack yourself across the face. Did that make you angry? Did that piss you off? GOOD.

Things I'm not sick of hearing about.

Been thinking, and there's been a lot of talk from certain quarters about things that are "Settled". They've been discussed, they've been kicked around enough and we need to move on.

And I was thinking, I'm not sick about hearing about these things. In fact, they aren't nearly discussed enough. I'd like a bit more discussion on these settled topics, and I'd like the candidates to talk about them.
