Meeting my Assemblyman: "Gimme three steps..."

The election of President Trump is the New Pearl Harbor: it awoke the sleeping giant. Protests abound from coast to coast, from Canadian to Mexican borders. Undoubtedly part of it is due to George Soros and Hillary Clinton but that's only a part of the story and probably not even the major part of the story.
Angry citizens have voiced their fears, frustrations, and threats of reprisal against elected "representatives" (i.e., voting them out next election).

A few examples will suffice as there have been reports of 200 such disruptions nationwide:
Jason Chaffetz
Rep. Tom McClintock from my home state
Senator Bill Cassidy
Multiple other Republicans

Bernie Sanders went public about this, commenting on Republicans' lack of fortitude in facing their constituents.

But Democrats are not immune including a so-called Town Hall Dinner with Sheldon Whitehouse.

In my corner of the California swamp, somehow a Repugnant got elected Assemblyman in my very blue district. Newly elected, he held his first Town Hall meeting. Did he get a surprise! Being politically active, I thought I would go to the show--and a show it was.

As cozy as the gathering seems, it was actually much larger than my picture indicates. I was about 70 feet from the stage and there was at least another 30 feet, filled with people behind me--standing room only. I estimate at least two hundred people were present, including at least one pink pussy hat and several Resist T-shirts. Two women just ahead of me held up signs simultaneously at various points, one saying "agree" and the other saying "disagree".

The acoustics were terrible--no microphone. None for the speaker. None for the questioners. "I didn't expect such a large crowd" was his justification for this--which was roundly booed. I could hear only about 20%.

Much of the signage was about national matters particularly immigrant policy (anti-Trump). Some questions included fracking ban, Medicare for all (single payer California style). I could not get a coherent understanding of what he said due to the acoustics, nor could the people seated next to me. One of them commented why there was no microphone to which I replied "chickenshit Republican". She and her friend smiled.

What was billed to be a 3 hour session, ended after 45 minutes when Mr. Cunningham had had all the heat he could handle. He slipped behind the curtain waving his hand, saying nothing about his departure. I am doubting he will soon repeat his fiasco.

In honor of Mr. Cunningham's abrupt departure, I dedicate this song:

The peasants are unhappy, and the nobles know not to show up without their retainers to keep the rabble at bay.

Maybe they'll build castles.

I don't think I could go to one of those. I'd end up getting arrested.

The issues that may emerge will spell danger to the democratic party elites. While the energy may be directed on gopers, I can see it easily turning on chickenshit establishment democrats. I saw a news clip on Wyden's meeting in Oregon. And you know, some of it seem to be a bit scripted. The first question was about Trump/Russia which is thee party talking point echoed by every elected dem. it seems with gop town halls, the questions and demands are like healthcare, jobs, etc.

I posted this link several times, but a look into the workings of the democratic party establishment.

Trump administration is radicalizing Democratic voters, creating a challenge for the party, Rep. Adam Schiff says

@MrWebster But Neil Schiff hasn't got a clue, just like H.Klinton and J.Podesta about why they lost. The following quote from your link is typical of establishment Dems:

“We have two of the most capable strategists as the head of our House and Senate Democrats," Schiff added, referring to House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco and Senate Democratic leader Sen. Charles E. Schumer of New York.

Nancy Pelosi is still battling Bush Junior, while trying to stay out of the nursing home. Chuckles is still looking for those Republican voters in the PA suburbs, so hasn't had time to check in on reality.

I was thinking about the very real danger to Democrats caused by the upwelling of anger. Many will be primaries. But Democrats, if the mood persists, which I think it will, may pick pick up some close House seats in 2018.

Here's what seems to be a new video from Sane Progressive dissecting Sanders's shameful support for the lie and the DNC:

It's not about the issues. It's just all about the conflict.

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?
