Covid Democracy vs. The Orange Fartcloud
.
Nobody asked us how to fight this thing. We just got told, here is how it is going to be. There is firm logic behind the premise that you cannot fight a war by democracy. You cannot vote on when to stage D-Day and you cannot let “the people” decide on how to protect human life from covid.

Old Time Rock n Roll with Lee Douglas - Christmas Party as broadcast 12/22/2020 on Remember Then Radio: Some of the greatest, funniest and well known Christmas songs by the super stars of Rock n Roll and even comedy. Listen Here

If we make it through December
Everythings gonna be all right I know
It's the coldest time of winter
And I shiver when I see the fallin snowIf we make it through December
I got plans of bein in a warmer town come summer time
Maybe even California
If we make it through December we'll be fine[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9TByT3QlWc]
I got laid off down at the factory
And there timings not the greatest in the world
Heaven knows I been workin' hard
I wanted Christmas to be right for daddy's girl
Now I don't mean to hate December
It's meant to be the happy time of year
And why my little girl don't understand
Why daddy can't afford no Christmas hereIf we make it through December
Everythings gonna be alright I know
It's the coldest time of winter
And I shivver when I see the fallin' snowIf we make it through December
I got plans of bein' in a warmer town come summer time
Maybe even California
If we make it through December we'll be fine

Ho, ho, ho. Time for my annual ek'smas visit where I find out who's been naughty or nice.
Sometime around December 23rd, but canonically any time between December and May, we celebrate Festivus.
Symbolically represented by the Festivus Pole, an aluminum tube between 3' to 6' high stuck in some drab and out of the way corner. It can be used as a weapon and frequently is. Traditionally it is stark and entirely unadorned and the stand crudely fashioned. Under no circumstances should any 'presents' be placed near it unless they're of the sort a too long ignored pet would leave.
There are several rituals that accompany the celebration of Festivus.
I think I'll spare you the feats of strength, though if you think I'm dead you can poke me with a stick and see.

Mob bosses, Russian assets and war criminals. Twitter was abuzz and upset that Trump pardon the 4 Blackwater killers and rightly so. However I questioned if there was a difference between a pardon and not charging people for crimes against humanity and getting away with even more heinous crimes. Kill 19 civilians in a 'war' zone and you get sent to prison. Kill hundreds of thousands and set up events where over a million are killed and you get rewarded with your country's highest honor.

This isn’t a metaphor; it’s brain biology. Scientists have found that in substance addiction, environmental cues such as being in a place where drugs are taken or meeting another person who takes drugs cause sharp surges of dopamine in crucial reward and habit regions of the brain, specifically, the nucleus accumbens and dorsal striatum. This triggers cravings in anticipation of experiencing pleasure and relief through intoxication. Recent studies show that similarly, cues such as experiencing or being reminded of a perceived wrong or injustice — a grievance — activate these same reward and habit regions of the brain, triggering cravings in anticipation of experiencing pleasure and relief through retaliation. To be clear, the retaliation doesn’t need to be physically violent—an unkind word, or tweet, can also be very gratifying.
