Talk about tag team pissing off the Chinese
The Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit rejected an appeal by the Highland School District (Ohio) of a lower court's order that the district allow an eleven-year-old transgender girl use the bathroom appropriate for her gender identity.
-- and now that Bernie Sanders has written his memoir, we have Ryan Cooper over at TheWeek.com explaining "Why America needs a socialist movement." It's a short piece which won't take long to read. Cooper's thesis is simple:
Have you noticed how the US government has dealt with whistle-blowers?
Have you noticed the reasons given? They do have one thing in common.
The outrage is not over creative lies and misinformation.
It is for exposing the reality and truth.
Note: following DallasDoc's example, I thought I'd publish this here before doing so at Dailykos, which was my original intention. Yes, I published an earlier version of this argument here back in October.
Are we talking about acts of war?
Should America launch retaliatory measures?
(Head shaking…)
Enough of all this hysterical arm-waving, warmongers. In what may be a completely futile effort (given the current makeup of the Dailykos community), I want to offer a voice of Sanity and Reason to counter all of the jingoistic rhetoric we’ve been hearing lately.
For the sake of argument, let’s just go ahead and assume the worst-case-scenario that the warmongers are advancing---that Russian government employees did the hacking at Putin’s direction.
Franklin D. Roosevelt at his first inaugural address encouraged Americans to stand up to that “nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.”
It may have taken a few more generations, but America finally lost the war against that “nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror".

While Americans spend their days navel-gazing and checking under their beds for KGB agents, the Battle for Mosul has not gone well.
I've got to admit that I have mixed feelings about today's of news. As a child National Geographic magazine covers were the items in the library upon which certain of my peers could unleash their prurient interest...hoping to see the occasional bare breast of the savage woman of color dressed in her tribal garb.
I was waiting for and it has now been done, it is about HER.
