In light of some opinions I've read here, I decided to take the opportunity to elaborate on something I wrote as part of another essay... My opinions run contrary to some of those expressed here recently.
For leftists, Cuba has always been kind of like the promised land. The country that has stood up to the imperialist giant to the North — the United States For the past 60 plus years, it is Cuba that has led the fight for liberation and socialist struggles both in Latin America and around the world. The country that never gave in, or gave up, no matter how hard the United States came down on the socialist island.
I'm fed up with Medicaid as it is constituted here in Florida.
The insurance plan dropped my Primary Care Physician from it's network.
I found an ACLU lawyer on the internet that has handled medical insurance cases and sent him this:
I am a disabled Medicaid recipient in Saint Petersburg Florida.
Saturday I drove up to Philadelphia to check out the Socialist Alternative/Movement4Bernie presentation which featured video messages from Jill Stein and Kshama Sawant. Cheri Honakala, Jill Stein's vice presidential partner on the 2012 Green Party ticket was present and spoke at the meeting.
Jill Stein called for the creation of a united party of the 99%, without corporate money or influence, joining the people energized by the Sanders campaign and the various fragmented groups of the left end of the political spectrum. Stein gave a brief run through of the highlights of her platform that mostly coincide with Sanders' platform demands.
First I must parse this comment:
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a worker identified as Jonathan Wolfe against Bojangles Restaurants, Inc. Wolfe was employed at a Bojangels in Fayetteville, NC.
According to the release, Wolfe "was repeatedly subjected to offensive comments about her gender identity and appearance. The belittling statements often demanded that Wolfe, who identifies and presents as a woman, engage in behavior and grooming practices that are stereotypically male, because that is the sex Wolfe was assigned at birth."
The release said derogatory comments about Wolfe continued, even after she had reported them on at least two occasions.
Wolfe was fired shortly after complaining about the statements.
Yesterday the chief economist at Deutsche Bank called for a 150 Billion Euros bank bailout.
I am not anti-immigrant, far from it considering my family hasn't been here for very long itself, but I do agree that we should have some controls and requirements to become a citizen, but that isn't what I want to focus on.
What I would like to address is what seems to me to be the most obvious approach to dealing with those entering or staying in the country illegally.
When we neglect a 'reasonable limit' on how much we imbibe ... well the result can be ... in a word "Gross" ...
