What I Fear

In an effort to distract for a moment away from all of this political talk, I thought I'd share some things about myself. So, I decided to share from a category I'm sure we all can relate to: fears. And I mean legitimate fears, things that unnerve you, make you feel dread, or possibly cause a minor panic attack.

Why? Because it can be fun to talk about our fears, despite how much we may dread them.

Thank you C99. I'm enjoying my participation here.

I never really had TOP withdrawal, and I've never looked back there. This site has filled part of the void and served parts of their function for me - most importantly as an occasional outlet for writing about (mostly political) stuff bouncing around in my head, but more generally a place to find common ground with fellow travelers, even though we may disagree on details. Whether I'm writing and participating in discussions, or just reading, I like the level of the discourse.

From Athens to Burlington: The Line Not Crossed

I started writing this as we awaited the joint Bernie-Shillary 'rally' in NH on 7/12….torn between posting it this very evening before, or waiting until just after the ...Event.

Odd to begin a piece with a Digression, but in this circumstance it seemed warranted. So, I wish to remind us of something which happened (ironically) almost exactly one year ago: the rise of the Greek Socialist Syriza Party, and their challenge to the EU.

Colorado Care: Amendment #69. Best of single payer. Under the radar.

On the ballot this November: ColoradoCare! http://www.coloradocare.org/

Finally, sanity. ColoradoCare eliminates the excessive costs and hassle for patients and their families, providers, businesses, employers, employees and entrepreneurs by eliminating the unnecessary middle man from our dysfunctional and unsustainable for profit health care insurance-based payment system and so much more.

FWIW

This essay is intentionally subjective.

My feelings -- I'm still for Bernie. I know people who are terrified of a Trump Presidency and I don't argue with them. I understand, because I feel the same way about a Clinton Presidency. That's because I've researched her and I haven't really listened much at all to Trump's media show, not having a television and not tuning in to Corporate Media.

the real challenge - OUR perspective

We participate on this site and others. We understand the value of Bernie Sanders or OWS. We understand that "the Economy" isn't something that just happens, but that it's a result of deliberate government policies. We see the blatant corruption of the dem party. We know that trump is a vacuous buffoon. We know who paul ryan and mitch mcturtell and Merrick Garland and rahm immanuel are. We know what's wrong with chained cpi and private prisons and school choice and tpp.
