This will not turn out well

It's complicated.

A few hours later, the president seemingly called for the Iraqi people to overthrow the Iranians, writing in a separate tweet, “To those many millions of people in Iraq who want freedom and who don’t want to be dominated and controlled by Iran, this is your time!”

We simply aren't appreciated.

We've learned the wrong lessons

iraq2.PNG

A U.S. official later told Fox News that "Iraqi security forces did participate" in protecting the embassy — and Trump made clear he expects Iraq to secure U.S. personnel.

“[W]e expect Iraq to use its forces to protect the Embassy, and so notified!” Trump said in his tweet blaming Iran. He also spoke with Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi, stressing again the need to protect U.S. facilities in Iraq.
...
Yet as news of the embassy clashes spread, the Iraqi National Security Council put out a statement instead condemning the U.S. airstrikes that preceded them.

“The Iraqi Government condemns this act and considers it a violation of Iraq’s sovereignty,” the statement said. “This is a serious violation of the rules of engagement of the Coalition forces, including the US forces, in carrying out operations without the approval of the Iraqi Government.”

The statement went on to say that the U.S. “relied on their own conclusions and political priorities, not the priorities as assessed by the government and people of Iraq.”

Obviously the Iraqis don't realize that American lives matter and Iraqi lives don't.

Empire is a bipartisan affair.

Sept. 11, 2001, Saudis and Egyptians pilot planes into buildings. The US, preferring to fight Afghanis, invade there, then, also disliking Saddam Hussein, proclaim "He did it!".

Same here. There's no logic to it which means the NY Times and others will write it up as if it were true.

Afghanistan did refuse to extradite Osama bin Laden, the alleged perpetrator. Other Muslim states supposedly hated the Afghans also. (shrug) They are seem to hate each other anyway.

The Taliban said they would let Bush have him if he would provide proof that Osama did the deed. Remember that the CIA never put him on their most wanted list.

Then there's the rumors that special forces had him trapped in Bora Bora, but they were called off the search.

@snoopydawg I have suspected that since bin Laden had a few months to figure out things between 9/11 and Bora Bora, I suspect that he made sure to get to that safe place in Pakistan. He was the son of friends and business partners of the Bush family that his life and the continued cooperation of the House of Saud that bin Laden not be killed. We know that the history of al Qaeda stretches back to the Muslim Brotherhood and the Mujahadeen fighting the Soviets in the 80s. The Safari Club was a cooperative designed to use radical Sunnis to help the West secure oil while the Saudis sought to make all of Islam Sunni.

The other thing is that there were reports from the start that Osama needed to get dialysis on a regular basis, which leads to the possibility that he was never in Bora Bora. It wouldn't be the first time that our national security shits lied to us.

Therefore, it's quite possible that bin Laden wasn't involved at all and that he was dead from kidney failure long before the SEALs dropped into his hideout.

Or not.

I am bad with names, but I remember the woman leader who said that OBL died in 2001 from kidney failure. But if he did need dialysis then there was no way he was hanging out in the caves of Pakistan and having it done there. Remember all those videos that we were shown just as the government needed a distraction from something along with the color code rising to orange and they would show a new OBL video with someone new each time? Yeah... and that was before Obama made it legal for the gov to lie to us.

I have an article somewhere of Bush, Cheney and Bandar 'Bush' bin Laden laughing on the Truman balcony. I think Bandar was from the BL family? Maybe the house of Saud?

Respectfully. Local folks getting into politics are charged with positive motives.
So are many young cops. 'Making a difference' 'we can do better' type stuff.
Problem seems to be the lifers. Get jaded and bought.
Still, some short termer's make a temporary difference.
Struggling with state-wide politics here.
Ain't pretty, but change is coming.
May as well influence it.

Within days, he was arrested, charged with multiple felonies, given an enormously high bond.
Two years later, he announced he was running for sheriff, despite those charges hanging over his head.
This morning, the special prosecutor recommended that all charges against him be dismissed for want of evidence. I sent his defense attorney an email to congratulate him.

There are already 14,000 plus in Saudi Arabia after Iran got blamed for the ship explosions and if more are going I don't like the way it's looking. But maybe if he does start a war with Iran his supporters will not vote for him again. They are running out of patience for him to fulfill his promises to bring them home.

We've seen this before. Next comes the babies getting dumped out of incubators, the media talking seriously about the grave situation, with Yellowcake and nerve gas, clouds that look like mushrooms, broken Dixie Chicks cd's and bipartisanship out the kazoo. The media reports on crazy old commie socialist ultra leftists Bernie Sanders opposition and Pete Bootyjudge rallies the true American democrats to stand behind the president. Bibi stands with the US as a stalwart ally, and sends in an unauthorized first strike dragging us all to hell. Somewhere the ghost of John McCain is smiling.

The congressman also denounced members of the Democrat-controlled U.S. House for stripping from the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) a bipartisan amendment, which he sponsored, that would have blocked Trump from waging war on Iran without congressional approval. The tweets echoed Khanna's previous comments regarding the NDAA.

Shortly before the House approved the military spending measure last month, Khanna said in a joint statement with White House hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) that "Congress should have used this National Defense Authorization Act to stop our endless wars. Instead, this bill does nothing to rein in out-of-control military spending, prevent unconstitutional war against Iran, limit the poisoning of Americans' drinking water, or end the obscenity of innocent children in Yemen being killed by U.S. bombs."

Khanna's calls for Congress to serve as a check on the Trump administration have come as the president has deployed thousands of troops to the Middle East in the past year alone while repeatedly vowing to end endless wars and bring U.S. soldiers home.

From what I have read the NDAA was not done the way it has been done in the past. It was snuck through without much discussion from the full body of both houses. Damn the Resistance has been working hard lately huh? Yeah Nancy this just further proves that the impeachment is just a farce. #retirealreadynancy
