From the "What the hell is this world coming to?" files. Man found dead in Airport with Genitals in can of Tuna and a slice of ham on each buttock
A half-naked British man was found dead at a Spanish airport with a slice of ham on each buttock and his genitals in a can of tuna – a death authorities mused may have involved “foul play.”
Steven Allford, 51, was discovered face-down on a bench outside Malaga’s airport, with his hands and feet bound by cables and his pants pulled down, the Mirror of the UK reported.
Preliminary tests indicated he died of asphyxiation when he choked on his vomit after drinking booze, the paper reported.
Was the poor fellow already dead and his corpse desecrated by idiotic assholes?
That is absolutely the best case scenario I can come up with on this story.
The world is becoming a sick and twisted place.
What the hell is wrong with us as a species?
I feel like this should be an article from The Onion (before the buyout of course.)

Here, it might have been described as suicide.
Desecration seems to be In. Count me Out.
I see that's from the NYPost. Are we supposed to be fearful in Spain if we were a single male Brit?

I think a likely theory is it may be a case of "Homeless Hate"
I think we are seeing a lot more abuses of the powerless as those with only slightly more power than the homeless lash out in their anger and fear of their situation.
They see the homeless person and subconsciously know that they are likely only a single bad life event from joining them.
It's an odd phenomenon, but some humans seem to have this capacity, almost a need, to hate with a passion the very thing they fear becoming rather than trying to help the person.
I don't get it at all, but I can recognize it's existence and it both saddens and disgusts me.
(edited to change "The" to "a" in the subject line as there just is not enough info available to us yet for me to make such a bold claim and I felt it came off somewhat arrogant possibly.)

Well, if you can kill
what you fear (or desecrate a dead body of which you fear) then there's no longer the need to fear what you've conquered. Put his junk in a tuna can and be on your way.

humans are fucking animals
There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties.. This...is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.--John Adams
In some sad and awful way, you are on to something.
Yes, animals. With social patina that we believe covers the eating/breeding/protection part and specialness. Breeding is very fraught now, random is no good at all, frowned on. All parts can be punished for no rising to the social shell. Varies by time/place.
And then there is Allowable. Peeing by the road is OK as long as no one can see it. At least pee is not flammable! In the US we are allowed to be the rule-kickers and enforcers because we are special (forebears already here [#DAPL] or fleeing from Europe for their religion or new fiefdoms or kicked out of Europe for the same two desires). Is my history about right?
I was born in the 1950's. Normal suburban life growing up with a (now I see) fairly clueless mother and a father with revolution in his mind. Not a connected father except for politics and revolution. He would have been beaming that my son could rebuild a CRJ engine and rise to crew chief. He wished his children into science, it only took with one.

... a line guy on one of the Detroit assembly lines?

When Demosthenes had finished speaking, the people said “Let us march”.
We're one of many animal species,
but the most parasitically psychotic and destructive species in the history of life on Earth.

no. Animals have more compassion and heart than us. nt :)

bbut, I put a mousetrap on the porch, with dead mouse
for later mouse burial "at sea" and discovered the trap with no mouse. Something et it.
I have seen (nightmares still) a country club pool after a small landslide, filled with Rana pipiens, bigger eating smaller. Headfirst. Humans tend to not.go.there. Especially, headfirst.

... a frog will eat just about anything.
Unfortunately, when humans get hungry enough, they will eat just about anything, too, including each other and any other creature that has the misfortune to cross their path (c.f., https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donner_Party)
We now are in the process of devouring ourselves, and just about every other living thing on the planet. (Because I am a geologist, and have examined a few of these issues, I suspect that the rocks will "survive" --)

What is wrong with us
as a species? Read the book "Homo Sapiens" http://www.homosapiensthebook.com/. It will explain a lot.

Well that looks like a really interesting
and potentially extremely depressing book.
Beware the bullshit factories.
Yes, knowing the truth about one's self
can sometimes be depressing.

Just horrible. There is one positive...
At least they can't blame it on Muslims.

God bless him & his family & friends.
May he rest in more peace than he had on earth. I hope he knows (and I believe he does) that many of us care that this happened to him.
Maybe this mutilation and desecration
was after he died, although he was bound.
He surely loved and was loved at some point in his life.
May he rest in peace.
This is a moment for me to cry a bit, then resume my normal life that suddenly looks far less shitty.
