Creating Chaos

Open Thread Image.jpg

Seems everywhere the US goes, chaos follows in our wake. Color revolutions, assassinations, and out right coups are the US stock and trade. NATO, guided by the US, invaded and is occupying a small part of Russia. Ukraine's front line is in collapse. The Gaza genocide continues, as Israel and Hezbollah lob missiles and drones at one another. Jake the snake Sullivan visits China to make threats of more sanctions. The selection show featured a puff interview with Kamala, which even with editing did her no favors. So it is divide and conquer abroad and at home...it makes people of slavelandia more pliable after all. Meanwhile BRICS+ hones in on a new means of exchange to by pass the USD. All this and more below the fold...

chaos.jpg

So the US has a two hot wars, one in the Middle East and the other in Ukraine/Russia. Larry Johnson does a good job covering both.

Larry C. Johnson: The US is Failing on Two Fronts? (41 min)

They begin their discussion talking about the hostage-taking of Pavel Durov.
The charges against Durov are not only draconian but also absurd. The notion of holding the owner of a social network platform as being responsible for or complicit in the content of the network is preposterous. Why not arrest the owners of telephone companies based on the same logic? It’s ridiculous and indicates an ulterior motive. Telegram was founded in 2013-2014 by Durov (and his older brother). He left Russia in 2014 because he refused to comply with Russian authorities on allowing access to the privacy of users. Over the years, Telegram has grown worldwide to become one of the major messaging apps with nearly one billion monthly users. It has gained a reputation for secure communications and fierce independence from governments.
Pavel told American journalist Tucker Carlson in an interview earlier this year that he has routinely been harassed by U.S. authorities to hand over the encryption keys of Telegram, which he has refused to do. By contrast, Western-based competitor apps such as WhatsApp and Western-controlled internet companies are known to have relented to pressure from the U.S. and European authorities on allowing “backdoor access” to supposedly private communications between individuals and groups. Having said that, however, the content of these Western apps is also tainted with crime networks and horrendously sordid material. Why shouldn’t Mark Zuckerberg or Elon Musk be arrested next on similar charges to those leveled at Pavel Durov? The difference is that Telegram has refused to comply with Western state intelligence services as it previously did with Russian counterparts. A case can be made that the Telegram owner is a “free speech absolutist”.
Much more important than the marginal criminal use of Telegram (as all apps are prone to), is the preponderant use of the platform for disseminating independent news and analysis. Telegram has gained an enviable reputation for its accurate information on the war in Ukraine. Numerous independent news channels have flourished on Telegram to bring reliable and critical information about the conflict. Unlike Western media and social network platforms that kowtow to Western governments and NATO propaganda, Telegram has enabled a much more informed view of the war that exposes the Western narratives as a sham. Defense of Ukrainian democracy? More like defense of a NeoNazi regime and defense of Western war economies. The fact is Telegram has become a globally important independent media network that is not controlled by Western regimes.

Lavrov Draws Parallels Between Israel And Ukraine
Both Ukraine and Israel are trying to spark major regional wars to solve their own problems at the expense of others, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said. The country’s senior diplomat made the remarks in an exclusive interview with RT’s Anna Knishenko, aired on Saturday. Asked about the prospects of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East devolving into a major regional war, Lavrov suggested Israel was effectively the only party seeking such conflict. “It seems that the only one who wants such a development is Israel. Probably the Israeli government, which is rather hard politics-wise, and they do not even hide that,” Lavrov stated. “Probably, they want to take advantage of this situation to once and for all try to solve all their problems with Hamas and with Hezbollah, and with pro-Iranian groups in Syria and Iraq,” the minister suggested, adding that Tehran seems to be avoiding such a conflict and “does not want to get involved in any large-scale military actions.”

Israel’s behavior shares striking similarities to Ukraine’s, with Kiev apparently seeking to drag its Western backers into a direct conflict with Moscow, Lavrov pointed out. “I’m seeing an interesting parallel there, [Vladimir] Zelensky too, who is fully controlled by the US as well, he wants roughly the same thing, only around Ukraine – to unleash a major war here, and to step aside himself, so that the Americans and other NATO members would start fighting for him,” the minister added. These are very similar situations when they want to provoke a big war in the Middle East and on the territory that is directly adjacent to us, and now part of [Russia’s] Kursk Region is under the control of Zelensky’s Nazi regime, with weapons supplied to him by NATO.

Doctorow thinks the incursion is more serious and a threat to Russia. He also gets his information from Russian TV talk shows.
Dr. Gilbert Doctorow Russia's Kursk Recovery: The Mission No One Saw Coming?

West Knew About The “Surprise” Invasion of Kursk
All those conflicts are in reality proxy wars incited by the West, which is now resulting in a “hot war” between Russia and the U.S. and its criminal NATO partners. Even before Russia’s Special Military Operation (SMO) began in February 2022, Western media published photos sourced from the likes of FOG from the Donbass region of then-eastern Ukraine. The images attracted limited criticism for interviewing (extolling) members of the NeoNazi Azov Battalion. The Nazi insignia of the Azov troops were blatantly displayed and their Nazi affiliation was irrefutable. Western media association with the NeoNazi paramilitaries raised questions at the time about whether they were so-called documentary journalists or a party to the conflict. After the start of the SMO, the Western media whitewashed the NeoNazi image of the Azov Battalion and labeled them as the “good guys” fighting for the liberation of Ukraine.
The FOG group and other NATO private contractors are also active in obtaining medical supplies, equipment and money for Ukrainian fighters and foreign volunteers who have joined the International Legion for the Defense of Ukraine.

Scott Ritter: Ukrainian Conflict Escalation Can Lead to ‘Global-Ending’ Nuclear War
“This is a very dangerous escalation, one that could rapidly create the conditions conducive for not limited nuclear conflict, but a general nuclear war, a global-ending global disaster, the destruction of the US, the destruction of Russia, the destruction of Europe, the destruction of the world. Why? Because the US and NATO will not be honest about the state of affairs in Ukraine today,” laments Ritter. Ukraine has already “lost the war,” he adds, and nothing that Kiev might do to try and “tip the scales” in its favor is going to change that. “All it will do is provoke Russia into enlarging this conflict so that it’s not just Ukraine that pays the price, but Europe, the US, and the rest of the world,” Ritter says. “Hopefully, the Ukrainian Defense Minister Andrei Yermak will be received by the US, and have their recommendations regarding using long-range weapons to strike deep inside Russia rejected. Because there’s only one outcome if the US greenlights this escalation, and that is total nuclear war.”

The BRICS trading system is already wiping out US farmers, as global price discovery is destroyed

(8 min) Millions of tons of annual agricultural trade is now being conducted outside the US dollar, and within the new BRICS framework. This represents a tectonic shift in global finance, as the dominant trading hubs of New York, Chicago, and London are replaced by a multipolar system of bilateral trades using national currencies and non-USD-denominated pricing and contracts.
The already huge volumes of trade in ag, energy, and raw materials are destroying price discovery in global markets. Decisionmakers and executives in Western companies are unable to see markets, nor can they know what parties are driving demand, nor which suppliers are emerging to meet that demand. Our senior-level business managers and planners are flying blind, and only after realizing giant losses we learn that we are now suppliers only of last resort: the BRICS countries and their allied countries across the world are producing and trading at prices far below our cost of production.

End the US Dollar Chokehold on the World
[..] central banks outside of the US centric system, China, India, Brazil, to an extent, Turkey etc, are trying to effectively grow their gold reserves again. Why are they trying to grow their gold reserves again? Because they’re looking at any way possible to diversify against the supremacy of the dollar in order to have that autonomy within the global system. It used to be the US, yes, and now China’s saying, Look, we’re developing more quickly the United States, we’re have more technological patents in the United States. We have more nuclear energy and advanced power plants and other forms of energy, and they’ve got negatives on cleanliness, but also are developing, and we’re just moving more quickly in terms of just the general move forward, and we’re going to do that with partners.

"Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) has problems, and I've been warning about this for years. They need a scapegoat, and it's going to be the Wall Street banks,” says Gregory Mannarino, founder of traderschoice.net and financial strategist. He argues that major Wall Street banks like Bank of America are set up to be "fall guys" in the event of a financial collapse. According to Mannarino, the central banks are deconstructing the current economic system to build a new one, and they need a scapegoat to blame for the fallout. "The middle class has been sucked dry. They don't have much left. People are being pushed to the lower rung."

The Silly Season Selection Show

The big news this week was that Kamala finally gave an interview with Walz holding her hand.
Jimmy explains...Kamala’s CRINGE Interview On CNN Was A Disaster! (48 min)
After more than a month as the Democratic presidential nominee, Kamala Harris finally sat down for an interview with the media — and even brought her “aw shucks” midwestern bear of a running mate Tim Walz along to help out. The two covered a range of issues, including the border, fracking, unemployment and Walz’s military record with CNN’s Dana Bash.
Jimmy and Kurt Metzger can’t get over just how terribly Harris comes across, that she seemed half-drunk or on barbiturates much of the time and that even with plenty of lead-in time to prepare the two nevertheless gave remarkably poor answers to even the most obvious questions.

Kamala's interview may have been a disaster, but Bobby gave a great interview to Tucker this week.

(52 sec)

Vice President Kamala Harris has become the subject of an ongoing joke in political circles because her speech writers insist on burdening her with trite aphorisms aimed at highlighting her inspirational wisdom, but instead miss the mark so severely that the word ‘backfire’ is more appropriate. In part one, we established that the coup against Biden did not establish the overthrow of his regime of war and dementia, because he was not the central character or mover of the plot which his administration had been (and still is) executing. But in the wake of the failed assassination of Trump – which the FBI has still been silent about (or not; the mach speed cremation of Thomas Crooks’ body speaks quite loudly) – provided the true predicate that led to Biden’s decision to step down.
Had the assassination succeeded, it’s far more likely that Biden would have remained the candidate, and any transfer of nominal authority to Harris would have concluded sometime in 2025 after the presumed victory. But the notion that Harris provides a solution or even a bearable trade-off in the deep-state’s electoral ambitions is furthermore questionable. This attempt has backfired, and it is hard not to connect the near-miracle which was Trump somehow turning his head at just the right time, to the panic which swept across the DNC in the aftermath. Initial MSM headlines sought to question whether an attempt was even made. The subsequent endorsements by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard have turned the panic into a hysteria.

I bet the dim selection committee/polit bureau is indeed in a panic. It will be difficult to cheat their way to victory.

NB: I think the hope that Trump would be any better than Harris is in vain. You're welcome to try to persuade me otherwise, of course. The Man Behind the Curtain (yes, I know this is a flawed metaphor) is in charge, and he's not going to let go just because old man Biden will be leaving. Here one recalls that Trump was planning to remove US troops from Syria, only Lindsey Graham talked him out of it. So it all seems quite unlikely to me. Rather, nobody is talking about what really has to be done to patch up Team Biden's incredibly bad foreign policy. Everyone is, instead, laser-focused upon the least important election of our time. When the election is over, the participating parties will move on to a different type of denial and obfuscation.

I what I enjoy most about this subject, is the need to reassess notions about human ‘evolution’. The probability is that recurring 6k and 12k year cycles have catastrophically pummeled life on the planet for eons. There are a number of anomalous archaeological finds that are consistent with their being numerous mass extinction events and multiple highly evolved civilizations that preceded what we commonly call our human ‘history’.

So much to explore and wonder about here, but definitely not everybody’s cup of tea.

I have helped band Laysan Albatross, raptors, warblers, and hummingbirds. You need additional add-on permit to do raptors or hummers. It is a blast, and that is a great time and place. The thing I like about the article is it reviews the cultural, historical, and political inclination of China to be an aggressor against other East Asian nations, particularly those which are island countries of the Indo-Pacific, and there is virtually none. The entire column is worth a read. It says that the author was born in Taiwan and educated in the US.

Below is a link to a Hankyoreh editorial by a professor who describes how the new relationship with Japan, the US, and North Korea, that Yoon has "crafted" for South Korea has actually further weakened South Korea's security situation without any tangible benefit.

Is Yoon’s unrequited alliance with US, Japan making Korea any safer?

Thanks for the WW Lookout. Lots of good stuff there. I especially liked the Matt Kennard presentation on MOATS.

Much like the USA, I wonder about the stability of the Japanese economy.

been seeing some Japanese homesteading expats...interesting.
Here's a TN homesteader interviewing homesteaders in Japan.

It interests me as I homestead in the third world state of Alabama. I can't see myself leaving this place where I've grown roots or almost 4 decades.

Thanks for the X post and lik!

@soryang @soryang sorry reply mean for dystopian

we're staying on the west side of the Bon Secour refuge giving us miles of undeveloped beach to walk....that was once common but rare today. The new thing is gas platforms across the view field. On the other hand, taxes from those platforms have paid for preservation of the Tennsaw Delta, which E O Wilson called American's Amazon. We've got a couple of days booked in the delta too.

thanks for the well wishes. All the best back atcha!

...and the demographic problem with an aging population, Japan and South Korea are similar. I don't know if South Korea would allow foreigners other than diasporic Koreans abroad actually buy land and become residents in the same way as the two guys have in this video. We know a few Koreans that returned to South Korea to live in the countryside. They are all US nationals but can get their South Korean passports back if they want, if they meet certain conditions, and then buy land.

More power to them. Ms. So is actually fascinated with the videos showing people creating or restoring homesteads like this. She usually watches the Vietnamese and Chinese homesteaders. Although there is some Norwegian guy living in the mountains of Northern Italy and another family in Spain that she follows. Ms So has the ag skills I think. She grows some food in the back yard for a hobby. She's a city girl though, doesn't want to homestead. I'm just useless in that sort of environment. Definitely not capable of the skilled labor I usually see in this sort of video, or read about the C99ers here.

No mater how long you've gardened, there's more to learn. It is life time occupation...hopefully done with joy and in the spirit of nature...at least to my mind.

Finding joy in nature is the key to homesteading to my mind.

Hope all is well in your world. May be we'll all avoid a hurricane this year anyway, but...?

All the best!
