Whistling with a Mouthful of Crackers

How ironic to talk of whistleblowers and never mention Chelsea, nor Julian, nor Ed Snowden who are all being persecuted by the very people hollering about protecting whistleblowers. Not to mention it was a CIA agent within the white house spying on Trumpilini....and he worked his way through channels? Let's see how did that work out for John Kiriakou or Tom Drake or Jeffrey Sterling? They all served time. Like Russiagate, Ukrainegate looks like a CIA propaganda tool. Now instead of discussing real issues we'll be observing the circus of clowns dancing around and around and getting nowhere. Meanwhile there are real things happening like:

rebellion.png

I know you've been hearing about the importance of protecting whistleblowers from all the usual suspects. For example...
MoveOn's Phony New Campaign for 'Protecting Whistleblowers'. In the last decade, MoveOn—which says it has an email list of 8 million "members"—has refused to do any campaigns to help Manning, Drake, Snowden, Kiriakou, or Sterling. MoveOn.org has just cherrypicked a whistleblowing hero it can support.
https://www.commondreams.org/views/2019/09/30/moveons-phony-new-campaign...

Let's look at these real whistleblowers.

don't look at me.jpg

The courageous whistleblower Chelsea Manning has now been held in a federal detention center in Alexandria, Virginia for more than six months. Manning has not been charged with or committed any crime. She was sent to jail on March 8, 2019 for refusing to testify before a secret grand jury that has indicted persecuted WikiLeaks founder and publisher Julian Assange, who published the information she leaked exposing rampant US imperialist criminality.
...
Among the information that Manning provided to WikiLeaks in 2009-2010 was the infamous “Collateral Murder” video—which documented the indiscriminate killing of civilians and Reuters journalists in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad. She leaked a trove of 400,000 documents that became known as the “Iraq War Logs” and another 91,000 documents that became part of the “Afghan War Logs.”

The Washington security establishment is salivating for its quarry, and Britain is playing minder. This means keeping him in indefinite detention, or at least till US authorities make their case, however unconvincing. UN Special Rapporteur, Nils Melzer, wrote “In 20 years of work with victims of war, violence and political prosecution, I have never seen a group of democratic states gang up to deliberately isolate, demonise and abuse a single individual for such a long time and with so little regard for human dignity and the rule of law. The collective punishment of Julian Assange must end here and now.”

Tens of thousands of letters arriving on a daily basis… Will disrupt the prison staff and create more problems for both the UK Royal Mail and the staff at HMP Belmarsh. That will be great news as Julian Assange must get out of HMP Belmarsh as quickly as possible – because they are torturing him which is a violation of human rights. You must write your own name and address on the back of the envelope or it will not be delivered to the prisoner. You don’t have to write a prisoner number if you include his date of birth (July 3,1971) next to his name.

Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) is a group of current and former officials of the United States Intelligence Community, including some from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the U.S. State Department's Intelligence Bureau (INR), and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). It was formed in January 2003 as a "coast-to-coast enterprise" to protest the use of faulty intelligence "upon which the US/UK invasion of Iraq was based." The group issued a letter before the 2003 invasion of Iraq stating that intelligence analysts were not being listened to by policy makers.

Bill Binney was on 'the whistleblower newsroom' this week. Another insightful interview....

National Security Agency whistleblower Bill Binney explains why the CIA agent who reported that multiple government sources told him that President Trump pressured Ukrainian President Zelensky during a phone call is a “rumorblower,” not a whistleblower and how the CIA engineered Russiagate and now Ukrainegate to bring down Trump in the face of forensic evidence Binney uncovered showing that the Russians did not hack the DNC’s server. Binney is currently suing the government for illegal data-gathering and surveillance activities.

Netflix has a surprisingly positive biopic about Bill called "A Good American"...

A Good American tells the story of the best code-breaker the USA ever had and how he and a small team within NSA created a surveillance tool that could pick up any electronic signal on earth, filter it for targets and render results in real-time while keeping the privacy as demanded by the US constitution. The tool was perfect - except for one thing: it was way too cheap. Therefor NSA leadership, who had fallen into the hands of industry, dumped it - three weeks prior to 9/11. In a secret test-run of the program against the pre-9/11-NSA database in early 2002 the program immediately found the terrorists. This is the story of former Technical director of NSA, Bill Binney, and a program called ThinThread.

ed snowden.jpg

Edward Snowden is one of the world’s most famous whistleblowers. Ed Snowden has been living in exile in Moscow since 2013 after he released to journalists millions of pages of documents he had taken out of the National Security Agency, where he had worked on the nation’s most closely guarded surveillance programs. He's been making the circuit (digitally) due to the release of his new book.

More Ironies and hypocrisy...
Throwing rocks when you live in a glasshouse is rarely a good idea. Despite all the effort that went into Russiagate, the claims against Donald Trump just wouldn’t stick. Luckily for the Democrats, there are plenty more Eastern European countries that can be used to try to bring down a president.

Not only is there the irony of the Biden's Ukrainian corruption, but also the irony of seeking foreign dirt on your political opponent. Consider the so called Steele Dossier -

How is it the Dems pay a Brit, Steele, to gather dirt on Trump in Russia and the resulting report is used as evidence for the Russiagate conspiracy with nary a word from the lame brain media?

During the Republican presidential primary contest, The Washington Free Beacon hired Fusion GPS to conduct opposition research on multiple candidates, including Donald Trump. Knowing that the law firm Perkins Coie represented the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Hillary Clinton’s campaign, Fusion GPS approached Perkins Coie and offered to continue the opposition research on Donald Trump that it had begun with The Washington Free Beacon. Together, the DNC and the Clinton campaign paid Fusion GPS $1.02 million for those services via Perkins Coie.
...
The Steele Dossier has been used to secure Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) warrants, to validate House and Senate investigations, and to justify the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the president’s ties to Russia. Despite this, there remains no credible evidence substantiating the primary allegations made within the dossier.

https://forerunnersofamerica.com/article/steele-dossier-timeline-just-th...

In rushing out their assessment of Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, Obama-administration officials chose not to include the risible Steele-dossier allegations that they had put in their “VERIFIED APPLICATION” for warrants from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) because . . . wait for it . . . the allegations weren’t verified.

I've been enjoying two market gardeners, Josh Sattin and Mike Dickson (and his family).

Climate chaos is affecting everyone!

Chris Hedges talks with activist Christine See and Rory Varrato of Extinction Rebellion about the upcoming non-violent, disruptive civil disobedience events during the week of October 7 in cities across the world. From over a decade ago...it is going much faster now.

On May 28, 2008, Adam LeWinter and Director Jeff Orlowski filmed a historic breakup at the Ilulissat Glacier in Western Greenland. The calving event lasted for 75 minutes and the glacier retreated a full mile across a calving face three miles wide. The height of the ice is about 3,000 feet, 300-400 feet above water and the rest below water.

I wrote an essay about water management awhile back. Had I known about Viktor Schauberger then I surely would have included him in that discussion. I find him fascinating in that he observed and copied nature in order to speed the flow of water to ship timber down stream. However the process of deforestation began to drop water levels and he had to adapt his approach to reforestation.

You can't whistle with a mouthful of crackers. At least I can't, and I whistle a good deal. It's a way to keep lots of tunes resident in the old noggin. My alarm bell went off on this current "whistleblower" when all the media began and the dims chimed in talking protection. This smells of another DNCIA russiagate fraud. What a great tool of distraction. I found it interesting the real whistleblowers concur with that assessment.

Have you heard any coverage of XR's actions tomorrow in the corporate news? Or all the unrest in South America (and around the world)? Similar to the yellow vest movement higher fuel prices have sent people to the streets. They don't want you to know that the people can shut down the system. Ralph Nader suggest several excellent examples of why we should take to the streets, but reaches a mistaken conclusion IMO about WARren as a way to get there. So here we are misdirected and swimming in a sea of propaganda. Ray McGovern said something like my friends think I'm a nut because they have no idea what is really going on because they read the NYT and think they've been informed. I'm grateful to this community for helping me to stay aware and providing me a community of like minded truth seekers. I'll leave you with a song by my friend Carl Jones, and look forward to your thoughts, stories, and comments below. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Lots of good stuff in the WW today. Can't wait to go back up and watch a few videos. I'm especially interested in the ones with Binney and Drake. I love hearing them speak about the CIA and how they are working hard to fool us every day!

It's more fall-like every day. We're expecting a hard freeze on Thursday night, so we're going to be bringing in some plants. Others will just turn black. Our leaves are all still green, so they will become brown, probably. We got 65/100ths of rain on Thursday, which was so very welcome. We'll water everything well between now and the freeze and hope for the best.

Enjoy your week everyone! Pleasantry

Don't recall appreciating this morning's cloud cover and light rain with more normal Fall temperatures as much as i do at the moment. More forecast for tomorrow, here in Knoxville, hope for Alabama as well.

Very intriguing subject this morning; the Snowden interviews, followed the Guardian series, he's an impressive young man, very articulate, amazingly so, imo. Enjoying spy novels and movies, i spent a considerable amount of time in the CIA library reading about past exploits of agents and stagecraft, even had a Burberry raincoat when in London. Smile

Afraid facebook, google and company put the CIA to shame in invading individual rights and we must be diligent about their power in spewing and controlling electoral politics, deepening fear that the horse has left the barn already.

As always you contribute much to the conversation here on c99 and it's appreciated.

Police have taken pre-emptive action against environmental protesters who are planning to cause disruption in Westminster.

Dozens of officers from the Metropolitan police’s territorial support group raided a building in Kennington, south London, where Extinction Rebellion activists were storing equipment to use in a demonstration next week.

Activists who had begun to try moving equipment from the Kennington site in vans on Saturday were arrested and their vehicles and any equipment inside were impounded.

The treatment of whistleblowers seems to be one of those third rail subjects we are not suppose to notice, or talk about. How more people do not see the injustice and criminality of what this country is doing to actual whistleblowers is beyond me. Which makes the current hypocrisy over the "rumorblower" even more galling. Much like a cynically orchestrated play with a "for useful idiots only" as its title, the drum beats on in Washington D.C. along with the big finger they're waving at the rest of us. The Romans had two parties. The Optimates ("best men") roughly similar to Republicans and the Populares (populists) rough;y similar to the Democrats. Not many people know that Julius Caesar (and Augustus) belonged to the Populares. Caesar had himself adopted into a plebeian branch of the family to qualify. But the Republic was dead in spirit before that with political assassinations everywhere. Seth Rich events were commonplace. And the Populares had long since stopped giving anything but lip service to the common Roman. Free Bread and Circuses were still useful election tools, however.

Some attribute this devolution to the emergence of the mega-rich profiting from Imperial conquest.

If you cut out suckers it will grow to about eight feet. If you let it grow as a bush, about four or five feet. No ladders!
I have many varieties grafted onto several M-27's but some didn't take so some branches are pure M-27. A ripe home grown apple is a rip home grown apple. Name varieties may taste better, but plain M-27 is not bad if ripe, as store apples never are.

Late to the party, but wanted to drop this here in this thread because of its relevance to the conversation. I'll post it in threads tomorrow. That so many "lefties" don't see a problem with Brennan and others of his ilk telling us the news just shows how much they have changed since the Reagan years. And especially since Bush. Just another continuous WMDs scam that people once saw through.

filling the halls of congress.
You can tell the media is CIA, Where was the incredible spy ring in congress story told for example?

Awan was banned Feb. 2 from the congressional computer network because he is a suspect in a cybersecurity investigation, but he still had access to House facilities because Wasserman Schultz continued to employ him.

https://amac.us/wasserman-schultz-aide-planted-computer-found-police-rep...

So Chelsea is in jail and Awan skates? Stinks of CIA or as I now think the DNCIA.

Thanks for the link supporting the theme!

Not sure, of course, but I think Biden is a jobber. I think in the event he couldn't come up to snuff, Kamala was supposed to rise up and beat him in an inspiring woman-of-color-beats-rich-white-old-man kinda way. But Tulsi ended that narrative in about 50 seconds. It was the American political equivalent of Bard the Bowman.

Now it's Warren. Unless of course they decide to insert someone at the convention, but I doubt it. They've got a real good narrative going with Warren. She's not as good as Obama, but way better than Hillary, Biden, or even Kamala.

This should not be taken as expressing my support for Warren. I will not vote for her. From my perspective, she's only marginally better than Trump.

WARren's foreign policy is her weakness and Tulsi's strength. With Albright (Yes, I think it was worth it) as her fp advisor she is vulnerable.

We'll see, still a long time till the first vote is cast.

of a Schumer whistle? Less shrill than a Pelosi whistle perhaps. Whistles are good distractions. They can blow all they want, it's still just noise. How does that change their history or intentions exactly? MSM can try to make the meme seem sweet for the power class. Pitch perfect listening erases all those dissonant excuses. Blowing whistles is different for power players. There are no protections for the social soldiers actually exposing government criminality. Mixing metaphors here. You get the idea.

Sixth amendment to the constitution of the United States of America.

"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense." Emphasis is mine.

We are now told that the "whistleblower" cannot come forward because he is CIA. To me that is more cause not to believe him/her.

I even heard some deranged commentator on NPR say it wold be a High Crime if Trump interferes with the CIA!

Thanks for the crackers and cheese, er whistling through crackers.

One more day. Get ready to watch the ptb freakout. Any slowdown of the capitalist machine will not be tolerated. Monkey in the gears. I saw that someone posted the battering ram bust of the xr warehouse. To be expected I guess. Not too many hours before kickoff. Sending good energy and protection their way. Have a good one.

The decentralized approach allows for surprise. Seems some of the police are joining with XR. There are always two sides of the story. The NYC actions are discussed in the hedges link above near the end of the essay.

I'm wishing us all the best in our efforts to move things toward a sustainable future rather than extinction. Cause thats where we're at. Extinction or rebellion.

Noticed the naysayers are already sounding alarm about actions going too far...even here on c99.

The question presented was do droning oil fields cross the line? Looking at the saudis losing half their oil production with a drone strike which granted cost six lives do you say like Albright (who was talking about a half a million children) "yes I think it is worth it"?

This is going to be difficult no matter what. It is and will be a major confrontation and it is a reasonable question to ask how far do we go? I don't know but if I was young I would draw the line pretty far on the major action side of the axis.

However things are accelerating as you well know... the arctic is the canary. https://earthsky.org/earth/climate-change-warming-arctic-means-for-the-r...
If the oligarchy refuses to listen can the people stop this? I liked your idea of stopping consumption, but interfering with production is also an approach dontcha think? Not saying thats the best strategy.

If folks think we're gonna get through this coming out with our current lifestyle they are sadly mistaken. Major changes like living with less is going to happen no matter which path we take. It is a bitter pill, but we better go in eyes open. My take anyway.

now I’m curious.

The double standard regarding whistleblowers is infuriating. Wish I had a few billion dollars so someone with power would care what I think.

documentary about John Kiriakou. You can just smell the corruption. If anyone has something embarrassing to the wrong people to report, I’m sure they will be sorry. The “good” whistleblower is the exception, not the rule.

More evidence the so-called CIA "whistleblower" is a fake and part of another Shadow Government/Deep State attempt to take down Donald Trump...
