A Small Personal Diary & Happy Announcement.
Through the most generous auspices of our server cowboys, today I can begin anew in this new Eden with a name I've come to love and cherish.
Anonymous Bosch
"Bill Melater", created long ago and far away, and the name I came here with, is a holdover from the Orange days. I've severed all contact and expunged my email addy, (as close as you can get to extinction without getting banned, I guess). The holdover name -- actually a double entendre if you say it slowly -- was getting on my nerves, and reminding me of something I can't stand. Very much like a divorcee who wants to resume using a maiden name.
Phew! I feel so much better now.
Thank you, John the Conqueror. Thank You, Joe. Thank you. Thank you. Thank You.
I'm not a diarist, certainly not a great writer like you guys. But I am a compulsive reader, and I read just about everything you guys here write. Occasionally I have an insight. Mostly, I get by with humor to dispel the life-long depression I've become accustomed to. (I preferred "manic depression" to "biploar", such a pissant evasive descriptive. If I ever get my shit together, I'll post an anti-war diary because that subject fascinates me perhaps more than any other. The sheer amount of malignant stupidity associated with war is my paramount concern. And climate change. And voting rights. And over-population. And racism. And gender rights -- for all genders.
I figure every class needs a clown, so I'm stepping up to the plate and taking one for the Team. But no punching or I'll kick you in the genitals.
Yours affectionately,
Anonymous Bosch (though most people address me as "AB"
P.S. My icon isn't photoshopped. He was relaxing in a gas station in BC, just hangin' out and being cool.
Here's a tune to brighten up your day...

Is this your celebratory renaming day?
Your former handle I just got. Sometimes I am slow. I like my handle, many reasons, but I am trying to sell the physical base, right now to no avail. Not sure what to do then...
Whatever. Welcome to new you, AB.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Yes and Thank You. Any river in particular?

Yes, but no
I got lucky enough to get a place on the St Lawrence River, just past its source from Lake Ontario. It is still 3 channels then and I see the Seaway. A thoughtful spot, seeing a major continental drainage and also seeing international shipping going by. A very different place in the winter when shipping has stopped. Fun watching a wildlife edge to industry.

Nice to see you here.
I also deleted my email addy from the other place. It's been 3 weeks and I don't regret it at all. I was there too long and I became stale along with the site. This place is very nice. Glad you are here. LOVE LOVE LOVE your name. I kept mine (real name)... Ty for the diary.
Don't believe everything you think.
My wife and I named one of our pet fishes
Plecostomus Bosch. It used to blink it's eyes at us. Anyway, nice to see you here.
My wife named our Plecostomus ...
... Plecos Blill.
I just figured it was easier
to go with the name I picked back in 2004 -- it's sort of part of me now. If refugees are looking for me they'll find me easier.
Plus I'm reserving the right to go back for a bit of schadenfreude if things don't go according to plan, either in the general election or if President Clinton gets us into some war somewhere or otherwise screws what's left of the working class. There are still some good writers there if you look past the politics; Besame had a great diary about chemists looking at ways to determine actual cannabis content/dosage in edibles, particularly baked goods, which is important for both medicinal and recreational cannabis use as we hopefully move closer to a sane drug policy. I'm taking a personal "time out" to reflect on the person I want to be in my latter days (I left on my birthday, ironically enough). A couple of people called for me to be BOJO for my TTFN diary, but last I checked I've still got the 5 bars and TU status so evidently I wasn't flouncy enough to break the rules.
crazy!
