OT ~ Welcome to Saturday!
Sit-a-while

where tin-dippers and
sweet water
in cool touches
meet lips
from hand dug wells.
Good morning good people!
C99 is a wonderful place, a shelter from the winds of political madness and a loving community.
Of politics: happened to catch an interview with newly elected Danica Roem of Virginia, brilliance; hope is alive!
Great news to share, my son and his wife are moving back home; he's his old job already and as my only child, you folks know what this means to me. Now with Mom in special care, here, too--and i'm her only child--our small family will be united in local space as well as heart.
No poetry today, spent all i had this week, an emotional endeavor; turntable is stacked in hopes you've time to enjoy this morning's musical story.
.....
Have a good one!

Armistice Day
Happy end of WW 1 day! Glad your family is being drawn together again. There's strength in those bonds. Enjoying the stack on your turntable this morning as well.
Edited to put in left out
Hi QMS...
Thanks for the Armistice day reminder... 'no more war.'
My upstairs friend and neighbor lets me spin the turntable with the volume up, most of the time, cause, he says, "you play good music." When i overdo the bass, he bangs on the old steam pipe and i turn it down until he bangs a second time. He's one of us, manages the not-for-profit art gallery, upstairs on main, down the street.
Son should be moved in in a couple of weeks, can't wait; i'm a lucky old man.
Good to see you today, enjoy the weekend!
Good morning, smiley ~~
I wrote a villanelle for my class this week. A nice piece that was properly workshopped, so now I have some revisions to do before I post it in coming weeks.
Nice musical selection for a Saturday morning.
Have a beautiful day, folks!

Hey RA...
Would enjoy featuring your vignette in the body of next Saturday's OT. If you please, just pm it to me by Friday. Cheers
Going to 19% on the mtn tonight, we ski bums are shaking in anticipation and looking through closets, wondering, 'where did i put that'? Love the camaraderie which accompanies our business.
Glad you enjoy the music, worked hard on finding the right selections for this morning's story.
You, two, enjoy the pleasure of the desert this weekend!
Good morning all
Great news about your son. I am so glad you will have your family together. Grandson #1 will be home for Thanksgiving. Looking forward to seeing him as well as #2 and #3.
Have a great day.

Hi dk...
Thanksgiving should be swell in Mi. Some day, i may write about past turkey get-togethers all over, memorable experiences, at least for me, maybe, others would enjoy the reads.
I wait in great anticipation for a grand-baby as once my son is resettled, the two have been threatening to make that a priority. In the meantime, Jackson, my grand-dog will be here soon and he and i love trout fishing and hiking together, he loves the water.
Have a great day in the North country!
Morning, I was thinking about an essay on this but to put it out
there, could anyone here sleep at night knowing that they had as much wealth, combined with two other guys, as half the country, much of whom were just barely hanging on?
What kind of person wants that much wealth and in all three cases, want more? Would that indicate an inherent sociopathic or even psychopathic personality, i.e., anyone who wants to become and stay a billionaire is at least a high level sociopath?
I think it does.
Hi Big AL...
would make a good essay, indeed. Hell, i often feel guilty about my simple good fortune when compared to others. I don't know where their greed emanates from or how can such affluence ignore empathy.
Write it, waiting for you to ferret out your thoughts more deeply.
Old friend, always good to see you on Saturday!
Fear of death? The subconscious may not understand that
you can’t buy your way out of having to die someday, no matter how much money you have.
Nor can you really buy your way out of feeling unloved (or having felt unloved when you were little).
Maybe some folks’ id (non-rational, non-verbal primate-child persona) just keeps on wanting to accumulate and accumulate, hoping that by doubling down on money and possessions, they can still somehow beat the odds.
Having all key people within a short drive soon
and being able to drop in on Mom randomly to check how she is doing. Good news. Hopefully the lower stress levels will allow focus on best health for you.
Just a thought, my Dad had severe lung issues, chemical exposure at work and smoking. A common thread is increased difficulty breathing when anxious and anxiety causing difficulty breathing, classic catch 22. Often treated with an antianxiey med to reduce frequency. Personally noticed individual who mastered breath control for wind instruments, diving, meditation or singing had fewer panicky, acute breathing events. My Dad practiced a few exercises, so they were second nature when his breath started to tighten. Gave him a better feeling of control, calming him enough to stop/slow the cycle and provide the time to reach his oxygen or nebulizer.
Could have a favorite tune to sing or practice one of these exercises.

Hey SoE...
Enjoying your weekly farm essays, a vicarious pleasure. Thank you for the care in your words and thoughts today; i'm guilty of not doing due diligence to breathing exercises; hoping that having my yoga teacher son around can aide in moving me along in a more disciplined way.
Begin the clinical trial this coming Thursday and Friday, am hopeful and grateful for having the UNC team attending to my pulmonary hypertension. And you are so right, stress and exertion tighten those airways preventing the transfer of oxygen to the blood.
Thanks again for your kindness and 'keep on trucking' on the farm!
Morning and early afternoon to all, had some
errands to do, so i'm late, sorry.
Our biggest local news is that we are making snow, may open the mtn. as early as tomorrow. Those snow-gun roars are the economic engine for the winter.
We are excited!
Sood morning, smiley7. Sounds like you are set for frequent
reunions. Happy Armistace Day. Looks like a good music selection, but I won't get to listen to it until tonight. Too many "daylight only" tasks to do today, so I'm off and running.

Evening, el, been a busy day here as well
Thanks for stopping by.
Glad your family will be close
Happy news!

Thanks, Marilyn, it is happy news :)
Evening, Smiley! Wonderful news--it means
so much to have Family near. (Mr M grew up as an only child, too. An infant Brother died more than a decade before he was born.)
Pooped this evening due to fairly lengthy road trip. But, look forward to dropping back by later to listen to the music videos--I've found that our tastes are very similar.
Oh, pretty happy about my Medigap plan. I got curious as to how much my premium increase would be in a couple of months, so called insurer. Found out that there won't be an increase on the renewal anniversary. Hey, I can live with that!
Hope your Mom is doing well. Have a good rest of your weekend!

Hi Mollie...
had family visiting mother this weekend, sorry for this belated reply.
Good news about the m-gap plan. Hope you enjoy the music and have a great week!
Just escaped from the hospital. Two new diagnoses
and more pills, mostly minerals.I had a scare early in the week that turned into coughing spells, ending in gagging spells for > 12 hours. Finally called 911. Pneumonia and some dudodenal ulcers that began to bleed. Now, the put it bluntly, I am shitting tarry stools. If anyone ever needs a description... when we went by the pharmacy at 8PM (Rite Aid) they were closed until tomorrow. Luck!
It got very cold, all of a sudden and there is about an inch of snow out there. My father was an 11/11/19 baby.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
riverlover, please do take care and rest, pneumonia can dain

Thanks for sharing thoughts of your father.
Hoping you get well soon!
