Sit-a-while
on swinging porch
where tin-dippers and
sweet water
in cool touches
meet lips
from hand dug wells.

Good morning good people!

Pivotal experiences come, unexpectedly, most often leaving us with tomorrow.

After the pzazz wears, where are we, normally? Same place as before, but with a little more knowledge, a pilot light burning, waiting...

No need to rush, putting out the flame; given time and thought, each special moment drives us onward in all things extraordinary.

In contrast, the quick store, the nearest corner, convenience rising in societal allures; made more necessary by community norms; a mortgage payed with life, time and fealty to neighbors and chosen overlords, a mixture of collective brains--not a rare collection cast in bronze--impedes the beauty capable of weathering time, sublime.

Luckily, we have music, biding time, fusing stories, vibrating memories.

Or as Shakespeare says: 'play on,' the porch is yours!

I enjoyed all of the music, especially the performance of ‘four women’ - so full of ardour and grace. Lizz Wright’s voice and body language is mesmorizing.

All sides of the Astana process on Syria have confirmed their participation in the upcoming talks, which will take place on May 14-15 in the Kazakh capital. The delegations from Russia, Turkey and Iran, as well as the Syrian government and armed opposition, will take part in the talks, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry press service said on Saturday, adding that UN special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura will also take part in the meeting as an observer. The US delegation's participation in the upcoming round of talks as an observer has yet to be confirmed, RIA Novosti reported, citing its source.

Just wondering, why would US encourage peace? The MIC are the terrorists, or more accurately, the mercenaries in this assault.

as an "observer", so that it has somebody on site to goad its proxies, "the armed opposition" into making unacceptable demands. Our goal has been regime change change since day one. The UN special observer has to be truly nothing more than that, which is unlikely.

What a Texas town can teach us about health care.

It is spring in McAllen, Texas. The morning sun is warm. The streets are lined with palm trees and pickup trucks. McAllen is in Hidalgo County, which has the lowest household income in the country, but it’s a border town, and a thriving foreign-trade zone has kept the unemployment rate below ten per cent. McAllen calls itself the Square Dance Capital of the World. “Lonesome Dove” was set around here.

McAllen has another distinction, too: it is one of the most expensive health-care markets in the country. Only Miami—which has much higher labor and living costs—spends more per person on health care. In 2006, Medicare spent fifteen thousand dollars per enrollee here, almost twice the national average. The income per capita is twelve thousand dollars. I can attest that during these past years of almost constant care, the system needs much; for instance, because of some reason, in arranging for my recent surgery i drove long distance to two appointments, one at hospital and one at specialist and endured the same exact tests and questions, tests and questions already completed by the operating surgeon's office...it's maddening.

you may recall, el, my son picks up string instruments and plays away, a gift, sadly, that passed me by, He remodeled an acoustic by cutting a hole and inserting a metal device and in memory, this morning's sound reminds me of my grown little one.

Hoping the West Coast is as beautiful as here today, Below and out my window two hundred yards away, thousands of families commence and celebrate the journey they've finished with high hopes of the ones to come; our town is filled to the max with schools scheduled graduation ceremonies throughout the whole weekend, even yesterday.

Loving this music, cheers!

many instruments Sandy played. He was an early multi-tracker; he'd lay down a drum line, and then play it back while laying down a bass line, then another instrument, etc. A natural, a genius, and a junkie who died far too young.

I'm enjoying a morning of sunshine and privy to a concert, brought to me commercial free by the many birds that nest here for the summer. I fed and watered them early and have enjoyed hours of entertainment.

Your morning music reminds me to get up before sunrise, go down and across the street and up the hill a little behind an historic Victorian home with gardens and sit and listen to the birds in orchestra. Haven't done that since my son moved away with grand-dog jackson who needed walking early.

They've decided to start Marking and censoring "Offensive" content.

Normally that wouldn't be a big deal, right? People have the right to choose not to see naughty words right?

On the surface this seems fine, but go a little deeper into it.

First, Twitter has decided to that if you "Like" a post, it shows up to anyone you follow. Not only that, but anyone you follow? Their posts show up on your timeline for all of your followers.

Normally that's not a big deal, but say you're a follower of an artist who does nude work?
Say you're friends with an artist that does pornography. Even if you never like their work, and merely follow them to be friendly, and have muted their work so you never see it, it will show up in your followers timelines.

Yup, so what's going to happen? All isolated group that depends on communication to get their work out will be more and more shunned because people will be afraid that they will be judged based off who they follow. Yes, slut shaming, and all of that, well aware of the rhetoric, but the fact remains that not everybody wants to be that guy who gets nudity or sex on their smart phone. LGBTQ folks in particular have had to deal with this kind of thing in the past, where they are judged SOLELY off of one interest, because it's the one that society judges the most harshly.

Not everybody is a Intellectual exhibitionist. Were it not for the friends I have online, I would have left a long time ago. Yes, many of them fall into the sex worker, LGBTQ community, and artists who cater to both. I'm not going to stop liking their work just because twitter has decided that everybody needs to know that I LIKE IT.

But I'm just one person, and many folks aren't as comfortable with things being put out there, especially parents who might find their interests used against them in a court room setting. (And that is the true measure of whether or not a society accepts things, IMHO. Whether or not they are held against you in a courtroom setting.)

So, I figure, Twitters decided that as soon as net neutrality gets repealed, they've set things up to toss a LOT of folks offline who are of the more liberal variety.

@smiley7 about my sexuality and things I like, I keep remembering that so were the people of Berlin in the 30s.

If the laws and enforcers won't catch up with society, it just gives the powerful an excuse to dunk on the powerless while enjoying their own pleasures with impunity.

Picture a white kid getting caught with pot in the 80s, vs a black kid... Same thing is coming with sex, speech and is already here with politics, I fear.

I definitely wonder about my Likes and Shares of posts about Yemen, Palestine and the like. People live tweeting about the cruelty in Yemen is how I actually learned it was happening at least a couple years ago. Not a word about it on our propaganda channels.

I figure I've been ghosted or whatever it's called, where you think you have an account, but no one but you can see it. I share the wrong stuff.

I'd never thought about the nude/art/porn aspects of it. Thought police. Shivers.
