Don't be afraid to be confused. Try to remain permanently confused. Anything is possible. Stay open, forever, so open it hurts, and then open up some more, until the day you die, world without end, amen.

Welcome to the extraordinarily open thread.
I don't have much to funkin' say, because I have been unplugged for over a week and put this together ~two weeks ago. I hope that I have not received any pieces of paper from the man. He will have to catch me, first.
I hope everyone is doing well, while I placate my wanderlust.
I will try to check in, during the evening.
That's funkin' it. Have a great weekend! The thread is OPEN.

Good morning Tim and c99 friends
Wishing you all a happy Autumn! Today on the East Coast, the autumnal equinox is at 4:02 pm EDT. In Central Time it is 3:02 PM, in Mountain Time it is 2:02 PM and Pacific Time it is 1:02 PM. The word “autumn” comes from the ancient Romans and may mean “drying-up season.” “Equinox” means “equal night” in Latin. Today the sun's rays shine directly on the equator, and then begin descending below the equator causing our days (in the N. hemisphere) to become shorter and shorter until the solstice in December. I hope those of you in the northern half of the world have a great fall and those in the South have a great spring!
All is well here on Lookout Mt. Last year we had fires like the west is having this year. It has been as mild a summer as I can remember (the hi/lo thermometer reports 94 the high for this summer at my location). So odd after last years hot drought. I guess we better be prepared for wild swings. Have a great day whatever your weather!

Hey lookout, thanks for the specifics on the time of
the equinox. But, days won't keep getting shorter because the world ends tomorrow. Did you forget that? I plan on slippin' right by it.

Enjoy wandering, NCTim! And wondering.
The leaf change is now apparent here. And I am not ready. That is usual. In another state at another time, we were still raking leaves at Thanksgiving, with frost.
I left a car door open overnight. It is still open, but my red door exit is locked. Fog again this AM. Yesterday it did not clear until after noon. But once it does, my lost summer returns and heats up over the next few days.
I am still waiting for my driveway work. The Bobcat just sits there. Unattended.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
GM, rl, take care of yourself and have a good one.

Everybody sets up picnic blankets and beach chairs to watch. We took our daughter several years. Sometimes a Falcon will be in the midst of the melee and try to catch one. The crowd draws in a breath that can be heard, while the drama unfolds.

Looks like reverse smoke. Other homes in the area which have chimneys, have them screened to keep the birds out or they may light a fire at the wrong time.
With crowd reaction:
