Tomorrow is our 33rd wedding anniversary! Sweetie and I met the old fashioned way, in a college bar.

We have been an item since that fateful night in 1978.

Back then, we were young, naive and happy.

Somewhere along the way, age and responsibility overcame us.

No, I can't just capitulate!

OK, a little bit of capitulation.

And here we are, immersed in a no-name global war that has no logical end and few serious critics in the world of mainstream media and politics. But maybe the American democracy is not the closed system it’s supposed to be.

For instance, John Feffer, director of Foreign Policy in Focus, points out that Donald Trump, in all his fun-house recklessness, is shaking up the consensus: “Democrats and Republicans disagree about many things. But with a few exceptions they all support an enormous military budget, an expensive overseas expeditionary force, and unilateral acts of force when necessary to protect US national interests (understood broadly).

“It’s an odd paradox that Trump, who blathers on about making America great again, departs from this consensus.”

counteroffer for my cottage, scanned in individually 14 pages, lost first file, and rescanned the entire bunch today and my scanner/email /internet link to computer (????) refused to let me send thru "regular" email, too large. I went to google email (recipient is on gmail, my second gmail account was set up) and it indicated I had to use GoogleDrive, so fine, WTF, and now my computer is not innernet-connected to itself or something and files (1 page each, HUGE 16 Mb files???) are uploading into GDrive at a glacial retreat speed. And the counteroffer is due today at 4PM. Same time zone. WTF!!!!!

I so love professional computer shit after 8 years away.

I'm going to be upset about that Bundy acquittal for a long time.

That it happened here is awful. I know...awful anywhere but I like to pretend that people here are smarter than...oh...Alabama for example. We know there are at least twelve dumb#%$%&s in the county.

But what I wondered is if the jurors were giving a big thumbs down to the government. The Bundys stay in jail. They will be transferred to Nevada for a trial there on other charges.
