The Malign Comedy: DINO bribing RINOs--OR What's all the fuss about Corruption?

Apparently my amygdala is back in shape after the several head injuries I sustained mentioned in a c99 essay. You may remember that Doctor Elwyn said that loss of the "seriousness" capacity was only temporary. Several commenters said "get well soon" .

Picture of me at the height of seriousness loss:

I am happy to say that my usual snappiness has returned, see today's picture of me:

Okay, this is not about alligators but about other swamp creatures. Most of them are in the Potomac practicing ducking and diving (shucking and jiving).

So imagine my non-surprise at reading the following story: HRC bribes 6 Republicans

From Wikileaks in January 2017 come the following tidbits:

In an email from John Podesta to Huma Abedin, the pair discuss diverting Clinton campaign funds to various Republicans who were secretly on the Clinton payroll.

Conservativedailypost.com reports:

The email, sent in July of this year, describes how funds were being diverted from Clinton’s campaign to the Super PACS of Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina, and John Kasich.

According to the email:

“JB, CF, and JK PACS will be noticeably silent for the rest of the campaign. Each will receive a significant allowance from advertising budget. HRC is in the loop and has talked to all three personally. Eyes only.”

Other emails that surfaced but do not refer to anything other than title have also surfaced that raised eyebrowS. It seems at a glance that the Clinton Foundation, or as I am calling it, the Pantsuit Mafia, has bought off several key members of the Republican Party to push the Clinton agenda. Such as:

Thus you can imagine that this insignificant (snark) story was given so little play in the Mainly Shit Media. Then in an instant (a phrase in Washington usually signifying at least a two year delay) there is a repeat of the story: HC bribed Republicans to influence election. Curiously, none of the recipients were Russian.

“Other emails hint at the money being moved to Republican elected officials in the House and Senate. For instance FEC reports shows that two large donations from PACS and private sources in early October went to John McCain right after he publicly criticized Trump.”

Senator Lindsay Graham, another outspoken critic of Donald Trump and briefly candidate for President from July to December also, it seems, received help from the Clintons. An email that simply states,“Cleared the road for him in 2020,” could mean that there will be no strong or supported Democrat in the South Carolina Senate race when Graham is up for re-election.

As with McCain, Graham has publicly called for a look into the alleged Russian influence in the 2016 election. All of the members of the GOP in cahoots with the Clintons will never, likely, be fully known

Is this fake news? Did Wikileaks actually publish emails to this effect? Do you think that the MSM will cover this?

Answers:

1. Knowing the cast of characters, quite plausible--need more sources, preferably Wikileaks email citation number.

2. See answer to number 1.

3. No

Therefore with the recent re-establishment of my ingestive inductive powers, I now declare that this story is TRUE.

Supporting evidence: the MSM says nothing. Which is about as much coverage as the Becks vs DNC Mafia fraud suit received. The, answer 3 is the definitive evidence that this did happen.

Wait for it...Long song comin.

then we know that democracy in this country is dead. And while I don't think that this couldn't have happened, this sentence seems to say that this isn't true. We know that the Clintons have enormous power in DC and that they as well as Barry are working behind the scenes to make sure that the DP doesn't move too far to the left.

Socialism and communism has a firm hold of our government

Barry, George and Bill are at the presidents golf tournament having a ton of fun laughing at how they were able to do so much damage to this country and yet people still believe that they were great presidents.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

"America does not at the moment have a functioning democracy,” he said at an event in Atlanta on Tuesday sponsored by the Atlantik Bruecke, a private nonprofit association working to further the German-U.S. relationship. The association's name is German for “Atlantic bridge.”
Carter’s remarks didn't appear in the American mainstream press but were reported from Atlanta by the German newsmagazine Der Spiegel....

This comment was made in reference to Snowden's revelations, but there has been little reason to believe that the the health of our democracy has improved in the interim, in spite of some "bombshell" leaks and the 2016 primary & election debacle. Perhaps we'll get a reshuffle and another chance for a "functioning democracy" when the current house of cards eventually collapses.

@Alligator Ed

I posted the link as someday it will disappear. It's surprising that the story is still there. I used Google Translate to put it into English for me. Some time ago I asked our own Mimi whether the Google translation was accurate enough and she affirmed that it was.

To this day I find it incredible that President Carter can go to Atlanta and publicly proclaim "America does not currently have a functioning democracy," and his words are not even reported in this nation. On the other hand, maybe I should not be so surprised...

That revelation certainly puts this incident in a whole new light.

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?

All this and then the author goes and puts Caesar as the "Savior of the Republic" instead of the "Savior" of the Republic and creator of the Empire.

Same kind of almost, but not at all right -- a bizarro twist, or a goateed doppleganger of reality -- that most RW nuttery contains.

Hillary could be the Senate, and Drumpf could be Caesar, but it ain't about restoring the power of governance to the people. Kind of ruined the whole article for me, certainly made me doubt the veracity of the email sleuthing.

And advanced options way back when this first came out and I just did it again. I can't find it anywhere in Wikileaks by document number, topic, or phrase. And I use Advanced Search too. Did you try to look? Did you find it? If you did I'll be glad to admit I'm an incompetent idiot and wrong.

There's also this:

Those rumors spread across fringe websites like the Conservative Daily Post and End the Fed (ETF) in mid-December 2016 that cite “new information from Wikileaks” that apparently doesn’t exist.

The reports reference an email that John Podesta sent to Huma Abedin containing Document Number 1078645 that proves prominent Republican took secret payments from the Clinton campaign to destroy Trump. The reports quote an excerpt from the email:

“JB, CF, and JK PACS will be noticeably silent for the rest of the campaign. Each will receive a significant allowance from advertising budget. HRC is in the loop and has talked to all three personally. Eyes only.”

The report goes on to claim that the initials clearly refer to Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina and John Kasich — all who were critical of President-elect Trump throughout the campaign. Other versions of the rumor state that six Republican leaders took secret payments.

We couldn’t find any trace of Document Number 1078645 or of secret payments to Republicans in Wikileak’s searchable database of leaked Podesta emails.

*

Given that there’s no record of Document Number 1078645, or any proof that Republicans took secret payments from the Clinton campaign to destroy Trump, we’re reporting this one as fiction.

https://www.truthorfiction.com/republicans-took-secret-payments-clinton-...

I didn't see this article before when I first searched for truth of this claim way back whenever. If I had, I would have saved myself a bunch of busy work. Same for today.

EDIT: fixed 5 (five) typos.

@Amanda Matthews seeing several articles on Google on the subject without the information as to which Wikileaks document contained the quotation, I am pleased that you did the actual research.

My "sources" that are linked obviously came from the same playbook of repeating a lie often enough, etc. However, although I find your research compelling for failing to prove the actual Leak, I wouldn't for a minute doubt that there is a lot of truth to the notion of inter party bribery. Hillary has already proven a master of intraparty bribery so it's not much of a stretch to believe the EQ would do such things.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

political parties vying for control of a vast global Empire. Both of them are financed and directed by concentrations of enormous wealth and influence. More often than not, the very same organizations that finance and perpetuate one party, also support and perpetuate the other. Particularly in the realm of foreign policy, the aims and ambitions of the two US Parties are nearly identical.

The system is essentially unitary. Whatever differences exist between its two poles, they are entirely circumscribed by a commonality of interest shared by the leadership of both Parties. One of the principal areas of agreement among Rs and Ds alike, is the prevention of a third party from ever coming into power. Establishment fears that Trump might attempt to break the Duopoly's power have proven to be groundless. I doubt that he ever had such an intention.

I think bribery and "corruption" are features of, rather than bugs in, any system that allows powerful capitalists as much leeway as this one does. Whether it's Soros or Bezos or Koch pulling politicians' strings, makes no fundamental difference to the smooth running of the Duopoly and its imperialistic agenda.

Unabashed Liberal's picture

there's not a dime worth of difference between the above-named politicians, and most of their economic and/or empire building/war stances. Especially, when it comes to slashing entitlements. Plus, they're all heavy duty budget hawks.

Kasich openly affiliates with the Bush-Clinton organization (which replaced the DLC) called 'No Labels.' Just a week or so ago, I posted one of his Tweets (at EB) that had a 'No Labels' logo at the bottom of his statement.

It's obvious that McCain and Graham are RINOS--anything and everything that corporatist neoliberal Dems want, they back with great enthusiasm. In particular, they support striking a Grand Bargain to slash so-called entitlements, and spending on US Imperialism. I'm still trying to figure out how lawmakers as cozy to the FSC-wing of the Dem Party as McCain and Graham clearly are, have yet to be ousted. I can't imagine that their constituents haven't noticed.

I've heard Carly interviewed on XM Radio--another 'No Labeler,' in theory or spirit, if not an actual member.

What is the date of the email about the SuperP's? July 2015, perhaps? Couldn't be 2016, is that correct? Where does this fit in the timeline compared to the Pied Piper email? Am I correct in believing that the plan was simultaneously to promote Trump, Cruz and Tweedle Dee (was Carson the 3rd? I can't recall) with the media, to have them played up, all the while PAYING the other campaigns to bow out, essentially?

And they blame Bernie and Jill for the freakin' mess we're in...
