This is getting repetitive

The global establishment has a formula for any and all popular movements and politicians that threaten the power and wealth of the ruling elite, and they use it a lot.

Is it even possible to oppose the status quo and not be 1) a foreign agent, 2) stupid, and 3) racist? I doubt if Jesus himself returned today, and he denounced the money-lenders, that he wouldn't be "outed" as a lazy, stupid, racist, Putin Puppet.

One must wonder how many times they can repeat themselves before the public catches on.

"The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly and with unflagging attention. It must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over. Here, as so often in this world, persistence is the first and most important requirement for success."

are unable to work; people who are dying to work, but can't find jobs--all that ilk are just scary, scary, scary, whenever they are not totally invisible and inaudible.

They have no idea whom to admire and whom to revile. They use words like "establishment," "neocon," "neoliberal," "mainstream media," "warmonger," and "PTB." They think that great American institution, the free press, is colluding with that other great American institution, the U.S. government. Oh, yes, that reminds me: and they collude. Doesn't matter with who or why. We all know that collusion is not only statutorily criminal, but also evil per se.

These people must never be allowed First or Fourth Amendment rights. ROPMA. (Right Of Privacy, My Ass.) Maybe not a right to due process, either. And heaven knows, they are not remotely our equals and have no right to be. Their votes must never be counted correctly lest a candidate most of them favor win an election. They must never be allowed to primary even the shittiest incumbent. Maybe they shouldn't even have a right to assemble. A right to petition government for redress of grievances? Are you fucking nuts?

Lest others admire them and therefore emulate them, everyone must be told incessantly how despicable they are. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays they are "unabashed" liberals (when, obviously, they should be ashamed to be liberals); and the rest of the week, they are alt right.

They're un-American. Racist. Sexist. Misogynist. Hackers of our democracy. (Don't worry about that the eff that means or if it's true: Like "fellow traveler," it will sound awful and therefore discredit them if enough of us say it often enough and with the proper combination of contempt and faux outrage.) "Conspiracy theorists"--and we all know that anyone who comes up with a theory that two or more people agreed to do something less than good is, by definition, a looney.

Beware, the vast majority of Americans, my friend, beware.

the ability to seek real solutions evaporates and wrong-headed actions create their own monsters.

Perhaps this will be the epitaph on the tombstone of the Great American Empire.

We have two giant monsters of our own creation that will completely devour us - Global Thermonuclear War and Climate/Habitat Crisis. I give it about 50/50 probability as to which.

Capitalism has always been the rule of the people by the oligarchs. You only have two choices, eliminate them or restrict their power.

We have two giant monsters of our own creation that will completely devour us - Global Thermonuclear War and Climate/Habitat Crisis.

Both fueled by the greed of big business, as aided and abetted by the greed of our selected unrepresentatives.

Being used to discredit the yellow vest movement globally, I'd say this protest has hit a nerve.

@Anja Geitz @Anja Geitz

How about a green vest movement--a nod to the planet? (I look much better in a nice forest green than I do in yellow, but, of course, I wasn't thinking of that at all. (-; )
