Bye Done -- Literally concocting false war stories

Originally on WAPO (paywall) but CtPost published as well.

Seems WAPO has the long knives out for "good ole Joe:

As he campaigns for president, Joe Biden tells a moving but false war story

"This is the God's truth," Biden had said as he told the story. "My word as a Biden."

Except almost every detail in the story appears to be incorrect. Based on interviews with more than a dozen U.S. troops, their commanders and Biden campaign officials, it appears as though the former vice president has jumbled elements of at least three actual events into one story of bravery, compassion and regret that never happened.

snip

The upshot: In the space of three minutes, Biden got the time period, the location, the heroic act, the type of medal, the military branch and the rank of the recipient wrong, as well as his own role in the ceremony.

The MSM will be all over this, amirite?

I mean the name Obama is never far from his tongue. How in the world did he “gaff” that one up?!?

He’s becoming a parody of himself. I’m just waiting for him to “gaff” and say something so offensive the DNC and MSM can’t ignore or explain it away.

PresidentMyBoss/ByeDone 2008

I have posted 3 essays on ByeDone's gaffes and could have posted more, but what they show is that he is experiencing some cognitive malfunctions. The one I posted in last night's EBs showed how he had problems coming up with words even worse than his president myboss one. How much longer will his family let this go on?

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

@snoopydawg I’ll make a prediction. If Warren starts consistently polling higher than Sanders, Biden will get the “it’s time, Joe” phone call and will bow out. That’s the sign I think TPTB are waiting for.

@Dr. John Carpenter picked up by CNN. Which suggests that the cheery media narrative about Biden may be changing.

This coverage, and the way it does not turn around the usual Biden Gaffe meme, seems like a transitional middle-ground from talking lightly about amusing gaffes to the more serious discussion of his obvious mental decline.

One can hope so anyway.

This is all very frightening. Think "Hitler's Iron Cross". Yes, we all transmogrify and blend stories of our pasts in our own heads. But when ByeDone swears to the veracity of such a yarn, he does himself (and us as well) a whole batch of damages.

n.b.: For those who don't know, Adolf Hitler received his Iron Cross via a tale such as this. It is now known that Hitler could not have performed the act of bravery attributed to him for which he was awarded the decoration.

In a strongly worded show of support for her husband, former second lady Jill Biden urged voters Tuesday to ignore which Democratic candidates are mentally sharp enough to finish complete sentences in favor of doing what is best for the Democratic Party. “This is a critical time for our country, and to beat Donald Trump, we cannot focus on who can string together three or four words coherently or provide the American people with a lucid plan for the future,” said Biden, adding that Democrats across the nation should come together and ignore those who can speak in interviews without uttering garbled nonsense. “We are at a crucial crossroads and we shouldn’t just be persuaded by someone with the mental capacity to know where they are or what they’re doing. This isn’t about plans, ideas, or the ability to remember what their advisors told them right before the interview. This is about winning back the Oval Office.” At press time, Biden insisted that Democrats should be concerned with current polls and disregard a candidate’s words, actions, and incompetence.

Yup pretty much... of course she asked us to vote for him even if we don't like his ideas about health care. I'm wondering how she feels about asking people to vote for him now that all of these things have happened?

@snoopydawg for the future of this country? Why, I see no problem there, do you? Who cares if any candidate has or can come up with a lucid plan for the future, this is about winning, period, fuck the future.

Do these people just not hear themselves? I know I really should not ask that question as Biden is hardly the only one with no ability to come up with a lucid plan for the future but my God. As we out here tend to agree, its all out in the open now isn't it? They don't even need to come up with a semblance of a plan other than to beat Trump. Just win, they say. Win what? Who is it who wins?

possibly Chris Cilizza...I'm too lazy to double-check that.

Anyway, Biden uses it just like Trump does, to make the story "more believable" and to make himself look like a real authority. See? Heroic soldiers look up to him! Ugh.

I got 10/15 and I was surprised by the ones I missed. Maybe we should root for ByeDone just so he can debate Trump. The laughs will be huge!

@snoopydawg that Biden becomes truly ByeDone. Diagnosing at a distance warning. If the misstatements in a single Biden pronouncement of 3 sentences, encompass errors of time,. intent (purpose), location, relationship of situation to his physical self, and perhaps other issue, are true---then the deterioration of Biden's brain is occurring unnaturally rapidly compared to cases of dementia I witnessed in my own practice. One possibility--note not probability but only a possibility--is chronic poisoning with heavy metals or other slow-acting toxins.

At the pace I can observe, only via scripted situations such as talk shows or campaign speeches, I doubt he would know his own name were he to win Presidency. WARNING: what I write is pure speculation on my part. I know of no evidence of ByeDone's being neurologically diagnosed nor tested for competency. Such information is, and should be, protected by HIPAA. Furthermore I am not able to judge the alleged errors attributed to this utterance.

You may note my use of caution regarding my notice to you readers. I specifically stated that diagnosis at a distance is frowned upon. I advised about privacy law. I advised that I had no first hand evaluation of evidence. There is a reason. This reason would never have occurred to me prior to discovering the venality of the Clinton/DNC axis. NSA collects everything electronically supposedly. The ways things stand now is that there is definitely a two-tier just system. The slap on the wrist upper tier is reserved for members of the club which you ain't in. The lower tier occupied by c99 types--basically almost everybody. I need a license to practice--no excuses, Gov. Newsom.

@Alligator Ed

residual problems from his brain surgery in 1987 where he was treated for bleeding on his brain IIRC. But he had some type of surgery then. Did you see the tweet I posted in last night's EBs where he doesn't speak words for a few seconds? Isn't that called aphasia? But his forgetting Obama's name after saying it over and over for so long. Speaking of toxins building up remember his son died from brain cancer possibly from exposure to the burn pits in war zones that lots of soldiers were exposed to and now have lots of problems. Maybe Joe was exposed during his many visits to war zones? But it's very obvious that he needs to drop out. He recently told us that he is not nuts. Sure..

@snoopydawg Preoccupation, anxiety, low self-esteem, fear, pain can all cause this phenomenon, but recurrent pauses like these, not doe to provocation, are called speech arrests. These may occur in small, recurrent partial seizures (something which JoJo's previous aneurysm surgery might have caused. Speech arrests for which no cause is otherwise apparent can be early signs of aphasia, which in turn can be part of a dementia syndrome.

I don't know if Charlie would because I rarely have any and haven't wanted to share it with her... but my first one was special. Beagles don't like to get wet, but Dusty Dawg would swim out to me and sit on the raft. She also loved the blossom fireworks and would try to bite them. She loved wine while she was cross country skiing with me. I always thought I needed a bigger dawg to keep up with me, but she did great. Until she got tired and then I'd carry her in my backpack...quite a site.

The bottom half of the article cited's history of the genesis of Biden's touching war story contains enough meat, in an evidentiary way, to draw one of two conclusions:

Version 1: a most benign interpretation of the war story's evolution is that it has undergone the traditional evolution of a fisherman's tale. Story shined up periodically to up the emotional impact.

Version 2: JoJo's marbles are being lost at an accelerating pace.

Now if one had enough questions to even entertain reading this essay, then enough doubt remains regarding Joe's cognition. The matter of reasonable doubt gets murderers off the hook. Do you have reasonable doubt about JoJo's competency as a medical matter, regarding ability to perform independent judgements based upon incomplete knowledge?
